I’m proud to share that our recent article was accepted by the Journal of Patient Experience as part of the special issue, "The Intersection of Humanism in Healthcare and Patient Experience."
I had the privilege of contributing to this work alongside Colleen Russell, MHSA, CPXP, Meghan Gaffaney, MPH, Jason R., and Iovannah Rudoy.
This work reflects a meaningful collaboration between Northwestern Medicine and Medallia, and reinforces the value of nurse leader rounding as one important signal in the broader care experience.
Rounding is not the whole story, but it is a powerful input. When connected with post-discharge feedback and other experience data, it can help health systems better understand the moments that shape communication, collaboration, responsiveness, and trust.
For me, this work reinforces the importance of moving from fragmented feedback to a more unified understanding of the patient experience, giving healthcare teams a clearer, more actionable view of the relational moments that build trust.
With appreciation to the Northwestern Medicine Engagement team, including Danny Sama, Rochelle Tapping, Chris Lyons, Lizzy Malone, @Nick Christensen, and Ramina Mikhael, MPH, MHSA and the Medallia Services team (Tori Abatti, Don Akins, Pamela Hessler, Alexandra Archer, Dylan Magnani, Brandon C., and Noam Zerubavel, PhD) for their partnership and ongoing contributions to this work.
