Support of the Agent Host Protocol (AHP) 🚀 for GitHub Copilot in Visual Studio Code is a big step forward. 🚀 #VisualStudioCode 1.129 updates! 🔹 Dedicated Agent Host: Run agent sessions (like Copilot, Claude, and Codex) in a dedicated process and connect to them from multiple VS Code windows at once. 🔹 Docked Editor Panel: A new experimental editor panel in the Agents window lets you review agent-generated files and diffs in a shared tab bar next to your chat - without needing to switch panels. 🔹 Quick Terminal Commands: You can now prefix chat messages with ! to run terminal commands directly from your prompts. (e.g. !git status) 🔹 VS Code can now authenticate Copilot against a GitHub Enterprise (GHE) instance.  Previously, the agent host's Copilot authentication only supported github.com. Two new additions I absolutely needed in GitHub Copilot desktop app 1. file explorer - it is not front and center but I really needed it and now if u really really needed to READ THE CODE you can read it 2. Insights - session insights view - first step towards agents debug logs - you can open it via the plus icon from the side panel or click on the session title and choose "view session insights" To really be main go to there are a few more things needed and this is a great advancement towards it What are you missing from Visual Studio Code that you must haver here to make it your daily driver?
