Career journeys are rarely linear, and that's part of what makes them interesting. In his conversation on the Beyond the Resume podcast, MRI VP of Product Management for Affordable and Public Housing Allen Féliz reflects on the experiences that shaped his career, his passion for affordable and public housing, and the role technology can play in helping housing organizations better serve residents and communities. Returning from #LGAConf26 with some real insight into the challenges and opportunities facing LG clients. Key takeaways: *The future of AI in local government is likely to be as much about connected places and data-driven infrastructure as generative Al (Copilot). *Appetite from LGPS and other investors for locally driven affordable housing (particulary Intermediate tenures) and infrastructure investments (provided the financial returns and risks are clearly articulated). *Successful housing development needs a coordinated, place-based approach where planning, funding, energy networks and housing delivery are aligned from the outset. See below from Montagu Evans on development and private/public collaboration:
Better development happens when the public and private sectors work together. But too often, conversations between the two happen too late, or not at all. That's why we're launching a new podcast series, Public Meets Private: Real Estate, Real Conversations, in collaboration with Montagu Evans, Pinsent Masons and Real Estate:UK (RE:UK). Hosted by Oliver Maury and Rebecca Rowley, the series brings together voices from across the process - from local authorities to developers and investors - to unpack: • how decisions are really made • what slows things down • where small changes could make a difference This isn’t about technical debate. It’s about honest, practical conversations grounded in real experience. If you work in development, or alongside it, there should be something here that resonates. Listen to our intro here: https://lnkd.in/eea2sdhf And look out for our first episode next week.

These days it is all about Who not How. As Jason Williams, Ph.D. explains in one of his main takeaways from this interview, we should look to find people with complementary skills so we can stay operating in our strengths, our genius area so to speak. Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy wrote the book Who Not How which is highly regarded as changing paradigms to solving problems and delegating tasks. Mutually beneficial outcomes are a goal while being more efficient and effective are the main objective. Jason was introduced to investing in multifamily properties by the infamous Joe Fairless where this principal is put to good use. One leverages the expertise of the professional multifamily operators to invest more efficiently and effectively. See link for the full podcast: https://lnkd.in/eHYJe-YH

"Someone else is writing the RFP, and you are just reacting to it". That's how Clint Winn of Loftwall responded in part to one of the questions on this week's Hot Takes episode! We covered a lot of important questions, including: 🎙️ Why the A&D access problem isn't getting better 📱 Where the next generation of specifiers actually spends their time 📣 Why leading with product is costing us relationships we can't afford to lose 🔍 What the best reps and dealers are doing differently right now Clint's observation toward the end of our conversation was simple but landed hard: The biggest challenge facing this industry is connecting with the next generation. Not a product problem. Not a pricing problem. A connection problem. Listen in on your favorite podcast platform or use the link in the comments!

Are you missing the humanity when you scroll through LinkedIn? Us, too! We made a podcast episode about it. Joe Zappa, Adam Remson and I hold forth on what makes Terence Kawaja so compelling, why people loved Chris Vanderhook’s very short LinkedIn post when Viant Technology’s stock briefly dropped, and why more execs should follow the letter-writing wisdom of Sir Winston Churchill. (And a bonus Annie Dillard anecdote that Laura Reiley may enjoy.) link in comments —

There is no one-size-fits-all answer. Several factors influence the timeline: • Your expertise and credibility • The quality of your pitch • The demand for your topic • The podcast's booking schedule • Current trends in your industry Some podcasts book guests within days, while others schedule interviews months in advance. The goal isn't simply to get booked quickly. The goal is to get booked on shows that reach the right audience. A strategic booking process prioritizes relevance and audience fit over volume. Quality bookings almost always outperform quantity bookings. #veeholleropodcastbookingservices #qualityoverquantity #listennotes #listenscore #globalrank #top10percent
