Next week I'll be at NRF Protect in Dallas. What I'm looking forward to: time with the US loss prevention and asset protection community. The maturity of the discipline here - the tooling, the data, the operational rigor - is a real benchmark. What we're bringing to the conversation: fresh shrink. The perimeter departments - produce, deli, meat, bakery - where loss is harder to measure, harder to attribute, and often only visible once it hits the P&L. At Smartway, this is what Smartdetection does. AI on the shelf, picking up what's leaving the store unaccounted for, what's being missed at self-checkout, what's deteriorating in the back room. The retailers we work with across Europe use it as a complement to their existing LP stack - not a replacement.
