This position pays between $30 and $40 per hour. Mechanical Design Engineer | Contract-to-hire This role is expected to: - Heavy design work, from scratch. Will be given some direction from management. - Some re-designs. - Check prototype machined parts or parts from a contract manufacturer for form and fit, and log all information into the PDM. - Help source some other OTS products. Qualifications: - BS Degree / BSME required. - 2-5+ years of experience is preferred. - SolidWorks (SWX) CAD experience. - SWX PDM. - Should understand GD&T, specs (e.g., ANSI Stds), etc... - Great communication skills and able to work with management and possibly CM's/vendors, maybe eventually with customers (DOD or MIL). - Must be able to work with different personalities, including military personnel. - Able to work in a small start-up environment and shift responsibilities as needed. - Team Player required. - Mechanical design experience is a must. - Electro-Mechanical experience is preferred. - Mechatronics experience is a plus. - Tooling experience is a plus. - Portfolio or samples with resume is preferred. - MILSPEC experience is a plus. - Any drones, aerospace/aircraft, DOD, government, defense, or military experience is a plus. - 2D or 3D experience will be reviewed. - Client has SolidWorks 2026 seats. Any fairly recent version of SWX experience will be considered.
