Last week I successfully completed my graduate trainee program and transitioned into a new role as a Futures Trader - earlier than originally planned. This past year has been amazing with so many lessons about coffee, the industry, its economics and the people. A very special journey covering learnings from quality, trade and commodity futures. Thank you Christian Bothe for your trust in the first place. Huge thanks to each team I had the chance of working with and learning from so far. I could mention nearly the entire Bernhard Rothfos team as they have all supported me immensely throughout my time here. To kick off my new role, I completed the Commodity Options Trading Courses from ICE Education in London. Special thanks to the Legend Bill Beagles. Rare to meet someone who combines knowledge, market experience and the ability (and joy) to explain complex structures in such a practical way. Also, I used the chance to visit our colleagues from InterAmerican London and got to attend the London Coffee Festival. A very intense and valuable week, with deep dives into commodity option structures, volatility, strategy, risk management and practical market applications. What an amazing year! What a road ahead - let’s go!
