"If AI assistants are not yet a reliable way to access the news, but many consumers trust them to be accurate, we have a problem. This is exacerbated by AI assistants and answer-first experiences reducing traffic to trusted publishers." EBU, together with 22 public-service media organisations in 18 countries, has just released a major cross-market study into how AI assistants respond to news-related questions. Spoiler alert: It turns out that nearly half of responses contain at least one significant flaw especially when dealing with fast-moving topics, conflicting data or complex sourcing. The findings raise serious questions about relying on RAG systems for news content particularly when editorial integrity, provenance and timeliness matter. Building high quality retrieval is not a trivial task and requires rigorous sourcing, timestamping and human oversight. Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/dh8WH4ga

If you’re in the media industry—or simply care about the health of our information ecosystem—Sora 2 demands attention. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman described it as a “ChatGPT for creativity,” and early testers largely agree. Sora 2 combines an AI video generator, a TikTok-style platform, and a social network, with feeds currently featuring Altman “deepfakes” at his request. While it could fade as another online fad, it’s more likely to redefine communication, turning users into stars of AI-generated mini-movies—regardless of copyright holders, professional actors, or potential victims. #Sora2 #AI #OpenAI #DigitalCreativity #AIContent #Deepfakes #SocialMediaInnovation #FutureOfMedia #TechNews #AIRevolution

It no longer takes hours or technical skill to clone someone’s voice. As Hany Farid and Emmanuelle Saliba explain, anyone can now create convincing voice deepfakes with just 30 seconds of audio and zero expertise. These AI tools are cheap, accessible, and dangerously easy to use. Political figures, CEOs, and everyday people are all targets in this rapidly growing landscape of audio deception. This is no longer a futuristic threat. Watch more of our content here: https://lnkd.in/dZQHShV9

Question for the AI skeptics out there… how is an ai generated Sora video (like this one) really that much different than watching cartoons, tv commercials, or animated movies? Not trying to pick a fight or anything. Just genuinely curious... Discuss. Hi5, LD 🌶️ _______________________________________________________ 𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘳 𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘓𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘦𝘥𝘐𝘯? British network Channel 4 broke new ground by featuring a fully AI-generated presenter in its current affairs programme Dispatches, titled Will AI Take My Job?, which aired on Monday. The anchor, named “Aisha Gaban”, disclosed at the end of the show that both her voice and image were entirely produced by artificial intelligence — a first for UK television. Channel 4 confirmed that the experiment was a one-off, emphasising their continued focus on impartial, fact-checked journalism rather than AI‐led presentation. #AI #Innovation #MediaTech #TechNews #DealonAI

AI-powered deepfake technology is spreading rapidly across social media. However, this technology poses a major threat by generating fake video and audio content that appears real. Deepfakes manipulate the faces and voices of celebrities—or even ordinary people—to create fabricated media. This issue stems from advanced AI algorithms, easily accessible tools, and insufficient detection methods. The risks are serious: misinformation, reputational damage, election manipulation, and even cyberbullying. For brands and content creators, being aware of deepfakes is crucial. This is where VerifiNet makes a difference: VerifiNet doesn’t just provide AI-based detection tools—it builds an integrated system for content verification, source scanning, and real-time analysis. This enables organizations to boost creativity while minimizing the risks of fake content. 💬 Have you ever come across a deepfake? #ArtificialIntelligence #Deepfake #SocialMediaSecurity #VerifiNet
