Most hiring decisions in AI infrastructure still come down to a feeling in the room. Strong interview. Good rapport. Everyone nods. An offer goes out. Three months later the hire is struggling, and nobody can say exactly what was missed. The problem is rarely the candidate. It is the absence of a structured evaluation framework. Gut feel rewards the person who interviews well, not the one who does the job well. A structured framework changes what actually gets measured: • Defined competencies agreed before the first interview • A consistent scorecard every interviewer completes independently • Evidence captured against each signal, not a vague summary impression • A debrief that compares notes rather than averaging vibes The point is not to remove judgement. It is to make judgement comparable across the panel. Unstructured interviews measure charisma. Structured ones measure the work. The biggest interview mistake isn't giving the wrong answer. It's not knowing how to structure your answer. Many qualified candidates lose opportunities because they: ❌ Ramble without a clear point. ❌ Miss key achievements. ❌ Struggle to connect their experience to the role. ❌ Let nervousness take over. A simple structure can make a huge difference: Situation → Task → Action → Result (STAR Method) Instead of listing everything you've done, tell a story that shows your impact. For example: ❌ "I worked on customer support." ✅ "I reduced customer response time by 35% by redesigning our ticket workflow and implementing automation." Interviewers don't just want to know what you did—they want to understand how you created value. At InterviewPlan.AI, we're building AI tools that help professionals prepare with confidence so they can communicate their experience more effectively. What's the toughest interview question you've ever been asked? Most candidates walk into interviews performing confidence they do not feel. And both humans and AI systems can detect the difference. Not because those candidates are unqualified. But because performed confidence — the kind built on hope and last-minute preparation — leaks under pressure. It shakes when the hard question lands. It falters in the silence after the unexpected pivot. Earned confidence does not do that. Earned confidence is built through deliberate practice with real questions, honest feedback, and structured refinement between every session. By the third mock interview session the goal has shifted entirely — from preparing to performing. And in a hiring landscape where AI is now conducting first round interviews at major companies, that distinction matters more than ever. Preparation is no longer optional. It is the filter that determines whether you reach a human decision maker at all. If you have an interview coming up — at any level — message me "INTERVIEW" and let's build the kind of confidence that actually holds. 👇🏾 #ASolomonRecruits #HireBlackTalent #CareerCoaching #WomenInLeadership #CareerGrowth #ExecutiveCoaching #CareerStrategy #HappyPeopleHappyCompanies #OwnYourWorth #CareerStrong #MockInterview #InterviewPrep #InterviewConfidence #GetTheOffer #AIInterview

💡 Recruitment Practical Tip of the Week In the age of AI, your best interview tool is a layered question. More candidates are using AI to prepare for interviews and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Preparation is part of the process. The challenge comes when polished, AI-generated responses make it difficult to understand the candidate's actual experience. That's where layered questions make all the difference. Instead of stopping at: "Tell me about a time you resolved a conflict." Keep going: ➡️ "What was your specific role?" ➡️ "What made that situation challenging?" ➡️ "What would your manager say you did well?" ➡️ "If that happened today, would you handle it differently?" It's easy to memorize a great answer. It's much harder to thoughtfully explain the details, reflect on decisions, and connect the experience to real-world outcomes. Layered questions don't "catch" candidates. They create space for authentic conversations and help distinguish genuine experience from well-rehearsed responses. The goal isn't to outsmart candidates. It's to better understand them. #RecruitmentTips #TalentAcquisition #Interviewing #Hiring #AIinRecruitment #BehavioralInterviewing #HR #Leadership

Nobody is going to tell you that you didn't get the job because of AI. After an interview, companies rarely explain why they chose another candidate. They'll thank you for your time, tell you they went in a different direction, and that's usually the end of the conversation. That means part of the responsibility falls on us to reflect honestly. If AI is listed on your resume, ask yourself: - Did I actually talk about it during the interview? - Did I explain how I use it to solve real business problems? - Did I show that it makes me more effective, not just that I've experimented with it? This doesn't apply to every role. But for many technical, analytical, and business positions, AI is quickly becoming another tool employers expect professionals to understand. You may never be told, "We hired someone else because they demonstrated stronger AI skills." But if you're consistently interviewing without receiving offers, it's worth asking whether your AI knowledge—and more importantly, your ability to communicate it—is where it needs to be. Sometimes the feedback you never receive is the feedback you need to discover yourself.

In today’s AI-driven world, a candidate providing perfect and detailed answers during a virtual interview does not necessarily guarantee that they are the right fit for the role. With the easy availability of AI tools, well-structured answers can often be generated or rehearsed. What truly adds value during an interview is a candidate’s ability to share their own perspective, explain real-life experiences, and demonstrate independent thinking. Sometimes, the most insightful responses are not the perfect ones, but those that make the interviewer pause, think, and explore the candidate’s reasoning further. With AI tools becoming increasingly accessible, well-structured interview responses can be generated, rehearsed, or refined. As interviewers, we need to look beyond polished answers. What truly matters is: ✅ Authenticity ✅ Independent thinking ✅ Real-life experiences ✅ Problem-solving approach ✅ Unique perspectives Therefore, rather than focusing solely on how polished the answers are, it is important to assess a candidate’s authenticity, problem-solving approach, thought process, and ability to articulate their personal experiences and viewpoints. These qualities often provide a much better indication of their potential and suitability for the role. Sometimes the most valuable candidates are not those who give the "perfect" answer, but those who make us pause, think, and explore their reasoning further. Let's focus less on perfection and more on potential. #Hiring #Recruitment #TalentAcquisition #HR #Leadership #Interviewing #FutureOfWork #ArtificialIntelligence #HiringTrends #HumanResources #LearningAndDevelopment

I have interviewed enough candidates in my career to say this pretty plainly: I can usually tell when someone is using AI to answer the question instead of answering it themselves. It does not help them. I am not anti-AI. Use it to prepare. Use it to study. Use it to tighten your resume. Use it to practice interview questions. Use it to understand concepts you are weak on before the interview starts. That is no different than using any other tool to get better. But when I ask a technical question and the answer suddenly turns into a polished paragraph with no personal anecdotes or scar tissue, a small hesitation for the AI to catch up, and no ability to go one layer deeper, it is pretty obvious what is happening. The problem is not that the answer sounds too good. The problem is that it sounds generic. I would rather hear a candidate say, “I have not worked with that directly, but here is how I would think through it,” than listen to someone read a safe, sanitized answer that has clearly never been connected to their own experience. Not knowing something is not fatal. Every good technologist has gaps. I have gaps. It is OK. I promise you. What matters is how you think, how honest you are about your experience, and whether you can reason your way through a problem without pretending you have lived through work you only met in a prompt window. AI can help you prepare for the interview. It should not be the one taking it. #Hiring #AI #TechnologyCareers #Leadership #Interviewing

Recruiters rarely tell you this... Most interview decisions aren't made because someone gave the "perfect" answer. They're made because one candidate communicated their experience more clearly than everyone else. After speaking with recruiters who interview hundreds of candidates every month, one pattern keeps coming up: The candidates who get hired aren't always the most experienced. They're the ones who make it easy for the interviewer to understand: ✅ What they achieved. ✅ How they solved problems. ✅ Why they made the decisions they did. ✅ The measurable impact of their work. ❌ When you're focused on remembering a script, you're not focused on having a conversation. That's exactly why practising your delivery matters more than memorising the "perfect" answer. That's why we created Rehearsa to help you practise real interview conversations, receive instant AI feedback, and build confidence before the interview that matters most. 💬 If you could ask a recruiter one question they had to answer honestly, what would it be? #InterviewTips #JobSearch #CareerAdvice #InterviewPrep #Graduate #OpenToWork #CareerGrowth #AI #Rehearsa

"I don't know" is a bad interview answer. Silence is worse. When you hit a technical question you can't answer, don't guess - a confident wrong answer is worse than admitting a gap. What works instead: 1️⃣ Admit it, then walk through your reasoning ("I'm not sure, but here's how I'd approach it...") 2️⃣ Connect it to something you do know ("I haven't seen this exact case, but based on X, I'd expect Y") 3️⃣ Offer to follow up if it's relevant Interviewers aren't testing whether you know everything. They're testing how you think under pressure What's your go-to answer when you're stuck? #TechCareers #RemoteJobs #Hiring #InterviewTips #CareerGrowth #AI #JobSearch
