The Byondis Campus: A Welcome Site
What does a company’s headquarters say about it? For Byondis, it says a lot.
Historic location, bright future
We’re located in Nijmegen (Nigh-may-ghen) for a reason. The oldest city in the Netherlands, at 2,000-plus years of age, Nijmegen is fast becoming a high-tech and science hub. It is home to more than 300 organizations working on the future of healthcare and other life-changing innovations. Beyond that, Nijmegen is a beautiful city in which to live and work, full of important historical locations and rich in culture.
Under one roof
We have been at the same location since our early biopharmaceutical beginnings in 2007. The campus has grown considerably since it was first acquired; it is now roughly the size of 10 soccer fields and comprised of 10 buildings. It is home to 450 Byondis employees, including highly educated scientists and skilled technicians, state-of-the-art R&D laboratories, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) production and conjugation facilities.
In our line of work, precision is everything, and the more that is done in one location, the better. That’s why we have our own GMP production and conjugation facilities, an unusual feature for a mid-sized biopharmaceutical company. It means that we can take our innovative portfolio beyond the laboratory, from discovery to clinical drug development, up to and including clinical studies.
Our campus, our philosophy
Our campus reflects our philosophy on life, work and the world. All of us, including leadership, scientists, technicians and support staff, come to work with a mission of making hope real for patients with intractable cancers. Our environment reflects that, with a campus that is inspirational, functional and green. We don’t believe in binding employees to their desk but encourage them to share brave ideas and live a happy, balanced life.
Most recently, the campus underwent significant changes. For example, we added two new buildings that feature the latest energy-efficient technology, including a porter’s lodge that marks our new entrance. Instead of natural gas, these buildings run on electricity and solar power. All future buildings, will take advantage of this technology.
Outside our walls, employees and visitors alike can walk and talk on our welcoming grounds, whose paths are lined with trees, shrubs and flowers. Walking and cycling are encouraged and we have extra bicycles on hand. Eventually, the only cars you will see will be in the parking lot.
At Byondis, we care for each other, our partners, our patients, and society at large. Our campus is a reminder of that. It is a pleasant and peaceful place to work.
This is fantastic! Love it.
