 2) Accounting Standards Amendments

Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) Amendment Rules 2025:

  1. Ind AS 21 – The Effects of Changes in Foreign Exchange Rates gives clear guidance on how to determine if one currency can be exchanged for another. It also explains what to do when a currency is not exchangeable. The standard provides a way to estimate the spot exchange rate when it is difficult to exchange currencies due to economic issues or government rules. Companies must now provide more detailed information about any restrictions, the methods they used for estimating rates, and the possible financial effects. These changes aim to improve transparency and consistency in financial reporting.
  2. Ind AS 101 – First-time Adoption of Indian Accounting Standards now includes updates for situations with severe hyperinflation or currencies that cannot be exchanged. These updates make it easier for companies to switch to these standards without comparative FS restatement. Instead, they can make adjustments directly to their retained earnings or foreign currency translation reserves.
  3. GSTR-1 - Table 12 which displays HSN-wise summary of outward supplies, is now divided into two parts:

1. B2B (Business-to-Business) Supplies

2. B2C (Business-to-Consumer) Supplies

This change helps to provide clearer and more detailed HSN (Harmonized System of Nomenclature) information for each type of transaction. When using the GST portal, you must now enter HSN details separately for B2B and B2C invoices

4. ITR Filing due date has been extended from July 31, 2025 to September 15, 2025, for Individuals, HUF (Hindu Undivided Family), AOP (Association of Persons), and BOI (Body of Individuals).
