🚀 Innovation accelerates when diverse ecosystems learn together. We successfully hosted a Bayer Co.Lab Connect #Seoul Local Workshop in Seoul, bringing together seven innovative Korean startups, Korea Drug Development Fund (KDDF), venture capital partners, and Bayer | Pharmaceuticals colleagues from Korea, Japan, and China last week. At the heart of the workshop were two key principles: "Co-learning" and "Co-creation". Its success was driven by the active engagement of every participant—openly sharing experiences, challenging perspectives, and exploring new possibilities together. For startups, discussions with experienced industry experts are often invaluable in identifying alternative development paths, refining strategies, and uncovering new partnership opportunities. It was encouraging to see so many meaningful conversations take place throughout the workshop. Thank you to Bayer Co.Lab Connect Seoul, Japan, and China colleagues that worked seamlessly across borders to strengthen the innovation ecosystem in Asia. Special thanks to Nobu Kazama, Kazuyuki Dan, Shirley (Di) Xu and Myungkyu Noh, whose leadership, energy, and commitment to connecting people and ideas made this truly an Asia-wide collaboration. Looking forward to building on this momentum and continuing to foster meaningful connections across the region.

Aerska is grateful to be featured in a new Nature Portfolio article exploring the rapidly evolving field of brain delivery 🧠 In the article, Elie Dolgin argues that brain delivery has reached an inflection point. Denali’s recent FDA approval of tividenofusp alfa helped validate receptor-mediated delivery as a clinically viable strategy. The next phase is about optimising these systems for different cargoes, cell types and therapeutic applications. TfR1 is currently the most clinically mature route into the brain, but different cargoes may require different delivery strategies. For RNA medicines, success means not only crossing the blood–brain barrier, but reaching the relevant cells, entering them efficiently and engaging an intracellular target. The opportunity ahead is to match the right delivery approach to the right therapeutic application. We’re proud to be included among the companies helping to shape that future!

From Silicon Valley to Berlin. 🌎 We’re excited to welcome Phinomics to Bayer Co.Lab Berlin. As the first US-founded company to establish its European footprint at our Berlin site, this marks a new milestone for our community, and one that reflects exactly what we set out to build. Our Berlin site is a #launchpad into Europe: space to work, close proximity to Bayer, and a strong ecosystem, so international teams can hit the ground running from day one. Phinomics has built a proprietary multi-omics platform centered on expanding the observable universe of measurable biology, starting with the #Circulome: extrachromosomal circular DNA, an emerging driver of cancer biology. By combining previously hidden layers of biology with AI, the team aims to uncover novel disease mechanisms and therapeutic targets. From Bayer Co.Lab Berlin, Phinomics will work with partners to move these discoveries towards clinical validation - with one of Europe’s most concentrated life science ecosystems on the doorstep. A warm welcome to Massa Shoura, Stephen Levene, Guido Mathews, and the entire Phinomics team. We’re glad to have you as part of the Co.Lab community and look forward to supporting your journey from Berlin. Read the press release here: https://lnkd.in/gizxfeMd
