The biggest mistake people make about innovation? Thinking the demo is the milestone. It’s not. Working across teams and partners, you start to see the same pattern: The demo creates excitement. The follow-through exposes reality. That’s when the questions change: “What happens if it’s wrong?” “Who owns the outcome?” “How does this fit into actual workflows?” And that’s where momentum usually shifts. Not because the idea wasn’t strong. Because the organization wasn’t ready to operationalize it. What gets framed as “resistance” is often something else entirely: → Lack of clarity → Lack of ownership → Misalignment with real constraints Different language. Same pattern. The hard part isn’t getting to the demo. It’s getting past it.

Innovation isn’t the constraint. Execution is. Working across startups, carriers, and partners, you start to see the same pattern: Strong ideas get traction, attention, even budget… And still go nowhere. Not because they weren’t valuable. Because they couldn’t survive how organizations actually operate. Most initiatives break in the same four places: Clarity → everyone nods, no one defines success Commitment → everyone’s interested, no one owns it (#sideofdesk) Constraints → reality hits (risk, legacy systems, process) Connectivity → it never becomes part of real work So it fades. Quietly. No decision. No failure. Just… gone. Miss one, it slows. Miss two, it stalls. Miss three, it disappears. If you’re honest, where does it usually break?

Nassau Financial Group is proud to continue to support the InsurTech America Symposium in Hartford, reinforcing our continued commitment to advancing innovation across the insurance ecosystem. Nassau leaders were deeply engaged throughout the event, sharing expertise, leading conversations, and helping shape the future of our industry across four key panel discussions. Our team brought forward critical perspectives on some of the most pressing challenges and opportunities facing insurance today: Governance & Innovation: Kostas Cheliotis shared insights on balancing accelerated innovation with regulatory expectations, highlighting the importance of trust, transparency, and accountability. Talent & Transformation: Laura Dinan Haber led a timely discussion on building digital-first organizations, addressing workforce shifts, evolving operating models, and the imperative to upskill talent in a rapidly changing landscape. Laura also served as Stage Emcee and contributed to the Innovation Content Consortium. Core Modernization: Neel Datar explored pragmatic strategies for modernizing legacy systems without disrupting the business, emphasizing incremental transformation and measurable value. Strategic Intelligence: Jordan Price discussed how insurers can translate complex data into actionable, enterprise-wide risk insights that drive smarter decisions. We were also proud to have Jessica Fayle contribute as a Stage Emcee, helping guide key conversations throughout the symposium. Beyond the main stage, Nassau continued its strong support for advancing women in insurance leadership as a sponsor of the EmpowerHER - Leading the Future event. We were honored to support Nassau attendees, Kate Geisler, Kathleen Sullivan, Mackenzie (O'Connor) Heslin and to have Laura Dinan Haber participate as a panelist in “Follow the Money: Investment, Capital and Women Changing the Game,” highlighting the critical role women play in shaping capital and the future of insurance and insurtech. Events like these underscore Nassau’s commitment to fostering innovation, investing in talent, and supporting a more inclusive and forward-looking industry. We’re excited to continue collaborating with partners across the insurtech ecosystem to drive meaningful progress. #IAS26 #WomenInInsurance #nassaucares
