    → Jira for tickets. → GitHub for code. → Slack for discussions. → Notion for documentation. → Monitoring tools for incidents. Modern engineering teams are constantly switching between tools. And every context switch comes with a cost. Lost information. Delayed pull requests. Repeated discussions. Slower incident resolution. Knowledge lost across tools. That’s why AI agents inside engineering workflows are becoming important. Not just to answer questions. But to actually take action. I was recently exploring how CodeRabbit Agent works. What stood out was its ability to: • understand repos, tickets, docs, and monitoring systems • connect engineering discussions with execution • investigate incidents automatically • retain organizational context • generate pull requests One workflow example caught my attention: → A Datadog spike gets detected. → The agent investigates the issue. → Finds correlation with a recent config change. → Opens a revert PR automatically. → Logs postmortem notes and tickets. This is much bigger than AI-generated code. We are entering a phase where AI becomes part of the engineering operating system itself.     CAD-CAE handovers are killing engineering speed. Not because engineers are slow. But because the workflow is full of friction. One team optimizes the geometry in CAD. Then the model moves to simulation. Then comes meshing. Then setup. Then monitoring. Then post-processing. Finally another design iteration. And the loop starts again. This is where weeks disappear. Not in the creative engineering work. But in the operational gaps between tools, teams and domains. For months, scientific publications have shown where this is heading: Multi-agent systems that design parts, generate meshes, run simulations and interpret results coordinated by an engineering orchestrator. Powerful idea! But often limited to open-source tools, Python libraries and research environments. Now this is moving into industrial practice. The team around Lucas Kempe (Aleksandar Trenchev, JAYAS P JACOB, Vipin Neekamparambath) at Accenture showed what this can look like when connected to real engineering toolchains. And they did not stop at CAD and CAE. They connected four industrial tools to an Engineering Orchestrator: 1. Siemens Polarion for ALM Requested changes are checked against requirements before execution.If a proposed design modification conflicts with requirements, the engineer is notified. 2. Siemens NX for CAD The part is created or modified directly in NX. Text-to-CAD instead of manual tool operation. 3. Altair HyperMesh for preprocessing The meshing agent prepares the simulation model automatically. 4. Altair HyperWorks for FEM simulation The simulation is started, monitored and evaluated. But here is the key point: This framework is not limited to these specific tools. It can be transferred to other engineering toolchains as well. The prerequisite is not a specific vendor stack. The prerequisite is that the tools expose the right API interfaces. That is what makes this approach so powerful. It turns existing engineering software into callable capabilities for agents. This is the important shift: The engineer does not disappear from the process. The engineer stays in the loop. After every agent call, approval is required. Responsibility and creativity stays with the engineer. Execution moves to the agents. That is the real promise of No-Click Engineering. Not replacing engineering judgment. But removing the repetitive work around it. The future of CAD-CAE workflows will not be defined by who clicks fastest through tools. It will be defined by who can orchestrate requirements, geometry, meshing, simulation and evaluation into one intelligent loop. Less waiting. Less handover friction. Less operational drag. Two years ago, I was juggling five active projects across different teams, with varying timelines and competing priorities. My inbox had 200+ unread emails, project updates were scattered across endless email threads, and I spent more time hunting for information than actually managing projects. Sound familiar? Here's what saved my sanity: → 𝗔𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗮 - Project timelines that auto-update when dependencies shift. No more manual Gantt chart nightmares when scope changes hit. → 𝗦𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 - Organized project channels replaced email chaos.     A lot of what gets posted about AI tooling on LinkedIn reads like a sponsored list. And so, I’ve decided to compile a list of my own on what we use at Mintlify, how we use it, and what makes each one worth including: 1. Granola (Meeting notes) Both our sales and engineering teams use Granola to record meetings and pull out notes and summaries. I’ve had days when I’m interviewing candidates back to back for 4+ hours, and by hour 3, I don’t have the energy to take notes and run the conversation simultaneously. Granola lets me just show up to the meeting, talk, and come back afterward to clean up the summary. Taking notes as a human is probably still better when you have the bandwidth, but when you don’t, letting AI record and summarize is an absolute lifesaver. It gives everyone access to a kind of additional labor that simply wasn't possible before. 2. Claude Code (Engineering productivity) Claude Code gets the heaviest use on our engineering team, day in and day out. There’s a reason it feels better than IDE-based alternatives. When you're running it from the terminal, you're on a consistent local machine. Something about that permanence, familiarity, and the fact that your hands are on the same keyboard the whole time creates a quality of experience that remote machine products can’t match yet. 3. KB (Internal AI wiki agent) We built KB as a Slack agent inside our workspace. When you tag it on a thread and ask it to summarize and document, it synthesizes the conversation and pushes it to our internal wiki. A lot of institutional knowledge lives in long Slack threads that no one goes back to look at, so KB captures it at the right moment. We’ve kept humans in the loop on deciding when to trigger it, because that judgment call still matters. 4. The Linear-Slack integration (Converting decisions into tracked work) Say you make a product decision on Slack and want it to turn into an issue that gets done. The Linear-Slack integration does exactly that. You can create and track issues without leaving the conversation, which saves us a lot of follow-through failures. 5. The Figma MCP server (Closing the design-to-code gap) When we have a design in Figma that needs to be built into the frontend, we pull in the MCP server to get the actual design data and build from it directly. This way, the spec is in the tool, not in a screenshot or a Loom. 6. Open Router (Writing research) When I'm working on a piece of writing and want more than one perspective, Open Router lets me send the same prompt to six different LLMs simultaneously and see how each one responds. This helps me analyze the diversity of tone and framing, because then I can pull elements from different responses and compose something that feels more like mine. It’s the best prompt-to-ensemble approach available right now.

One of the most striking success stories came from a financial services firm that cut their project coordination time by 50%. Their approach wasn’t about using more tools—it was about selecting the right ones and ensuring they were integrated into their workflow effectively. What stood out across industries is the critical role that the right technology plays in team success. Some of the most effective tools include: - Project management platforms (like Monday.com or Trello) that give everyone instant visibility - Communication tools (Slack, MS Teams) that bridge the physical/virtual gap - Secure document sharing systems (O365/Sharepoint, Dropbox, Google Workspace) that balance collaboration with data protection - Virtual workspace tools (Zoom, MS Teams) that empower distributed teams collaborate effectively   What truly sets successful teams apart is how they use these tools. For example, one team standardized MS Teams for all communication and collaboration, creating a unified space for real-time work. They also used AI for automated note taking, generating concise meeting summaries and highlighting key moments in video recordings, ensuring that team members who couldn’t attend could quickly catch up on the most critical parts and stay aligned.   The key takeaway here?
