  • Build lasting relationships: Focus on delivering valuable, relevant content to your subscribers that keeps your brand top-of-mind and nurtures loyalty over time.
  • Respect inbox trust: Honor the privilege of direct access by offering thoughtful messages and respecting your audience’s time and preferences.
  • Own your audience: Invest in growing your email list, which gives you control over how and when you communicate, free from external platform restrictions.

We don’t realise it but email is the default form of communication on the internet, and it will exist as long as the internet exists. Every few years, a new tool comes along that claims to “replace email.” We’ve had workplace chats, collaboration platforms, social DMs, and now even AI-powered communication tools. Yet somehow, through all of it, email continues to quietly hold its ground. The reason is simple. Email is the only truly universal and open form of communication on the internet. You don’t need to be on the same platform or use the same app to send an email. It connects everyone, regardless of which ecosystem they belong to. It’s the one place that doesn’t care about walled gardens or exclusive networks. It’s also timeless in how it’s built. Unlike most communication tools that exist inside closed ecosystems, email is open and interoperable. You can move between devices, change providers, or use entirely different services, and your emails will still reach anyone. It’s not tied to a single company or app. That openness is rare in today’s internet. And that’s what makes it so powerful. It’s still the one line of communication that cuts across every professional, creative, and personal domain. Even as communication becomes more fragmented, every important conversation, confirmation, or record still finds its way to an inbox. That’s why email isn’t going anywhere. It may evolve in how it looks or feels, but at its core, it will remain the foundation of how we connect online. Because while platforms come and go, the inbox persists.

Delete. Unsubscribe. Mark as spam. These are the reactions many assume email marketing elicits. Yet, while social media grabs headlines, email quietly outperforms, driving $36 for every $1 spent. It's the digital marketing channel that refuses to die – and for good reason. Many marketers overlook it, chasing the latest social media trends, but savvy businesses know its power. Here's why email marketing remains a cornerstone of effective digital communication: → Direct access to your audience: Unlike social platforms, your email list is yours. No algorithm changes can cut you off from your subscribers. → Personalization at scale: Modern email tools let you tailor content to individual preferences, increasing engagement and conversion rates. → Cost-effective: Compared to paid ads, email marketing often delivers a higher ROI. Some studies show returns as high as 4200%. → Measurable results: Open rates, click-through rates, and conversions are easily tracked, allowing for continuous optimization. → Builds long-term relationships: Regular, valuable emails keep your brand top-of-mind and foster customer loyalty. → Versatile content options: From newsletters to promotional offers, emails can serve various marketing goals. → Mobile-friendly: With most emails now read on smartphones, it's a perfect channel for reaching on-the-go consumers. Despite claims of its demise, email usage continues to grow. In fact, many Gen Z consumers prefer email for brand communications over social media messages. The key? Providing value, not spam. Businesses that master the art of helpful, engaging emails will continue to reap the benefits of this powerful marketing channel.

Invest where your audience really is: their inbox. Here's why email marketing still reigns supreme. 💌 Social media platforms are powerful, but they don’t belong entirely (or even mostly) under your control. Algorithms shift, platforms rise and fall (hello, TikTok?), and one sudden change can leave you scrambling. Your email list, though? That’s yours. Every email address represents someone who chose YOU. They handed over their inbox—a space they guard fiercely. That’s not just access; that’s trust. But with trust, there’s responsibility. -> Respect their time.  -> Offer value, not noise.  -> Build relationships, not just campaigns. Email marketing isn’t flashy, but its value is timeless. Social media may grab attention, but email builds connections that last. Social media is still essential, but don’t let your strategy rely on rented land. Focus on growing and nurturing an audience you truly own. How are you treating your inbox audience? Are you making their trust worth every click?

“Email is dying.” They’ve been saying it for years. Especially since… → Slack launched → Texting took off → Video calls became the norm …but after 20 years in tech, I still bet on email. Here’s why: ↓ 1️⃣ It’s fully asynchronous Suppose you get a complex project proposal at 11 PM— With email, you can sleep on it and reply thoughtfully in the morning… …no pressure for instant replies. 2️⃣ It’s incredibly versatile Email gives you long-form when you need it… …and quick updates when you don’t. For instance, a CEO can send a company-wide update with: → Links → Attachments → Detailed explanations …and more. Try doing that effectively on Slack. 3️⃣ It’s universal Reaching out to someone at work? Email is still the go-to. It’s professional, expected, and doesn’t assume which platform they prefer. Everyone has an email address… …but not everyone uses Slack or Teams. 4️⃣ It’s traceable Phone calls leave no record. Video meetings get fuzzy in your mind. But emails? They give you a clean, easily searchable trail of communication. Need to recall that important project detail from last month? Search your inbox with a keyword and jog your memory in seconds. 5️⃣ It’s preference-friendly Send… → Text to your reader colleagues → Voice notes for the listeners → Quick videos for the visual learners ...all in one email. People process information in different ways— And this mode of communication respects that. That’s why at Prezent, we’re building toward a truly multimodal, interoperable platform: → AI-powered personalization for each recipient → Seamless integration with other communication tools → Voice-to-email and email-to-presentation conversions The idea? Start with an email. Turn it into a presentation. Convert it to a voice memo. Speak to your audience’s language because… → Some prefer reading → Others like listening → Many need visuals Truth is, email isn’t dead— It’s evolving into smart, versatile, empathetic business communication.

Most brands rent attention. They rent it from: → Meta → Google → Influencers → Algorithms they don’t control And every year, the rent gets more expensive. The brands that win long term understand something simple: → Attention is rented. → Customer relationships are owned. That is why email marketing still matters. Not because email is “old school.” Because email is one of the few channels where a brand can build a direct relationship with its audience. No algorithm deciding who sees your message. No platform changing the rules overnight. But owning an audience is not the same as having a list. A real owned audience requires: → Strong deliverability → Consistent engagement → Useful segmentation → Lifecycle strategy → Retention systems This is where the future of email is going. The winning brand will not be the loudest brand. It will be the brand with the strongest owned audience. The brand that: → Understands its customers better → Communicates with them more relevantly → Shows up consistently → Earns inbox placement → Builds trust over time Because in the next era of marketing, the advantage will not just be who can buy attention. It will be who can compound relationships. That is the real power of email marketing.

Everyone is obsessed with LinkedIn algorithms and TikTok trends and the newest AI tool that just launched, and meanwhile email marketing is quietly generating more revenue per dollar spent than any other channel in 2026 and nobody wants to talk about it because it is not sexy enough. I built lifecycle email systems for dozens of clients over the past six years, and the pattern is always the same. They come to me excited about running paid ads or building a massive social following, and then I ask them what their email strategy looks like and there is this long pause followed by something like "we send a newsletter once a month, I think." Klaviyo just published their 2026 marketing automation trends report and the data confirms what I have been telling every client for years: AI powered email personalization is now driving 20% increases in conversions for brands that actually invest in building proper flows, and the companies seeing the biggest returns are the ones who treat email as a first party data channel rather than an afterthought they throw together the night before a product launch. The reason email works so well and keeps working while other channels get more expensive and more unpredictable is simple. It is the one channel where you actually own the relationship with your audience. Nobody can change an algorithm on you. Nobody can throttle your reach. Nobody can increase your CPMs overnight. When someone gives you their email address, that is a direct line to them that you control completely. If you are spending thousands on ads every month but you have not built out a proper welcome sequence, an abandoned cart flow, a re-engagement series, and a consistent newsletter cadence, you are literally paying to acquire customers and then leaving money on the table by not nurturing them through the channels that cost you almost nothing to operate.

"There is only one channel where engagement hasn't fallen off a cliff..." Rand Fishkin 💌 EMAIL While social platforms play musical chairs with algorithms and search engines serve up instant answers that keep users from ever clicking through, email quietly continues to deliver what matters most: genuine connection and measurable results. Here's what's happening across the digital landscape: - Traffic referrals from major networks? Plummeting. - Search behavior? Evolving toward instant, on-platform answers. - Brand visibility? Fighting for scraps in an oversaturated market. The platforms we've relied on for years are fundamentally changing how they serve content—and it's not in our favor. Email isn't just surviving this shift—it's thriving. Here's why: 1. Permission-based relationships: Your subscribers chose to hear from you. That's powerful. 2. Direct access: No algorithm stands between you and your audience. 3. Measurable impact: Open rates, click-throughs, conversions—email delivers data you can act on. 4. Owned channel: Platform changes can't take away your email list. For nonprofits especially, this matters. When you're competing for donor attention and fundraising dollars, you need a channel that consistently delivers. Email does that. If you're not investing in your email strategy right now, you're leaving money and mission impact on the table. This isn't about abandoning other channels. It's about recognizing where your efforts will generate the highest ROI and the deepest donor relationships. Email isn't flashy. It's not the newest thing. But it works. And in a world where engagement is falling everywhere else, "it works" is exactly what we need.

Email Isn’t Dead; It’s Dominating Every time a new platform explodes, social, streaming, “the next big thing,” someone says email is finished. The data (and our case studies) tell a different story: email remains one of the most reliable, highest-ROI channels for building relationships and driving revenue. Here’s why: It’s direct & personal. No algorithm in the way. You land in the inbox. It’s cost-effective. Even a modest budget can drive outsized ROI. It builds loyalty. Consistent, thoughtful messaging keeps your brand top of mind. It’s measurable. From open rates to conversions, you see exactly what’s working. And people want it. HubSpot reports 77% of marketers saw increased email engagement last year. At Scout Digital, we’ve seen the same: Pennycake → +133% revenue from email by restructuring flows. Culture Partners → record-breaking lead gen, powered in part by email nurturing. 👉 The format may evolve, but the appetite is alive and well. Question: How are you evolving your email strategy for 2025?

The age of “social media” is quietly ending and a new era is taking over: Interest Media. For more than a decade, our content was pushed to our network. Visibility depended on who we knew, how many connections we had, and how loud the platform wanted to be on any given day. But something remarkable has shifted. Today, content travels not to your followers… …but to the people who show interest in what you say. Algorithms no longer reward popularity … they reward relevance. They reward expertise. They reward consistency. And here’s the ironic twist: I’ve spent years building a community of more than 28,000 LinkedIn followers, yet suddenly the game has changed. Followers matter far less than real interest. As an immigration lawyer, this shift has actually made my message stronger. Because people don’t engage with my posts because they “follow” me … They engage because topics like global mobility, skilled migration, employer sponsorship, innovation visas and the future of talent genuinely matter to them. Interest Media is meritocratic. It’s democratic. And it’s forcing all of us to lift our standards … myself included. But amid all this transformation, one thing remains surprisingly unshakable: Email Marketing. Platforms can change their algorithms. Reach can fluctuate. Visibility can rise and fall overnight. But your email list? Your direct connection to the people who truly care? That remains yours. Always. As we enter this new era, here’s my takeaway: - Create for the people who care, not for the metrics that fade. - Build expertise, not noise. - Own your audience, don’t rent it. The future belongs to those who understand that interest is the new currency … and that real value still happens in the inbox.

email marketing is one of the few channels people actually INVITE into their lives. think about it!!! when someone gives you their email address, they’re allowing your brand into a space filled with work emails, personal conversations, newsletters, reminders and everyday life. 🍯 and i think that’s a bigger privilege than marketers sometimes REALISE. which is why i’ve never believed email marketing is just about sending campaigns, it's about earning ATTENTION. 🏖️ is the communication relevant? 🏖️ is it arriving at the right time? 🏖️ is it helping the user in some way? 🏖️ is it giving them a reason to stay subscribed? 🏖️ is it building trust over time? because the moment communication becomes repetitive, irrelevant or purely promotional, people notice. and honestly, THEY SHOULD! the most effective email strategies i’ve seen aren’t necessarily the ones sending the most emails, they’re the ones that understand their audience best. 🫐 for example, if someone has just signed up to a service, they probably need onboarding and guidance. if they’re highly engaged, they may want more personalised recommendations. if they haven’t interacted in months, sending the same message you’ve been sending everyone else is unlikely to change anything. different behaviours require DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION. and that’s where crm becomes so interesting because behind every open, click, unsubscribe or conversion is feedback. feedback about what people value, what they NEED, and how they want to be communicated with. i think the future of email marketing is less about sending more and more about understanding BETTER. because when people invite you into their inbox, they’re not just giving you an email address, they’re giving you their attention. and that’s something worth respect! 🍕
