Overall great experience, just cleanliness dropped it down a little. Both towels hanging under sink, one was stained with large brown stain, the other was covered in short hairs like someone had shaved and wiped their chin on it. Shower leaking from head but still useable and great pressure. Staff really friendly, helped set up surprise birthday decorations for husbands birthday. Bed massive and very comfortable.
Staff welcoming. Room is clean was perfect for the stay. Perfect location. Enjoyed my stay and would stay again when next in Glasgow. Only thing was I wish there were coffee sachets, only tea.
Lovely staff. Room was good size and very clean. Comfortable bed. Right temperature. I did book originally through booking.com but cancelled direct with hotel as better rate. Joined the beone and downloaded the app. Said I’d get free bottle of water on arrival but I never received this
Have stayed before and absolutely love it, great location, great staff, great place
No high floor or facing hope st
Location: easy access to anything on Hope street with shopping close by and ScotRail around the corner. Taxis right outside Checkin: easy fast Room: comfortable enough bed, room was small and hard for two people to pass each other but we had a fun street view. Bathroom updated with good water pressure and fixtures. Breakfast: if you don’t get there before 7:30 things go empty and they don’t refill anything. Breads with spreads, sliced meats and cheeses, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, a few cereals, oatmeal in cups, juice in carafes and automatic coffee machines April2026:Warning there is a ton of construction happening right outside their front door right now so lots of busy foot traffic and construction barriers
Wonderful hotel...rooms beautifully designed and appointed, very conmformable, quiet. Only reason I gave 9 rather than 10 is lack of advertised bar snacks...I was looking forward to a toasted cheese sandwich with my drink!
Great value and the bar open late is a bonus.Quite possibly the comfiest bed .I have slept in in a hotel
We have stayed at MotelOne in Glasgow on many occasions and it more than adequately meets our needs. Only one minor issue on our most recent visit which was the continued flashing light on the smoke alarm which disturbed our sleep, this has never been an issue previously.
Lovely team, lovely facilities, decent breakfast. Directly next to Glasgow Central Station, which was convenient, though there was consequently some construction in there area. The biggest letdown was that, for some reason, the shower was unfinished, with a wide-open hole where a door should be.
For the most part my stay for the one night was great and my only negative and reason for making down would be that before 11pm there was a dog barking quite loudly in the room next to me - I can’t really fault the hotel for this because reception staff were keen to try resolve the issue as the poor thing sounded quite distressed. I’d hope that guests bringing pets would be a bit more considerate to other guests and behave more responsibly.
Very nice Very clean Very nice staff 👌👍
The receptionist was very helpful, especially after the night my friends and I had and having to find a hotel for 5 of us late at night in the city centre. The rooms are very good and quiet even though it's very busy outside. Comfortable beds and great pillows, would definitely stay again.
Room was clean tidy comfortable. Didn't use the facilities. Had a problem with the lock in room door not operating. It was problematic when i first checked in took a few goes to work. At the end of the night it just wouldn't unlock a very grumpy and non apologetic manager opened it with her pass key. I felt her attitude was it was our fault but the night porter couldn't open it either. Not a word of apology from the manager
Everything was great clean room & comfy bed
Excellent location, friendly, helpful, welcoming staff, bar area relaxed, large, yet cosy & bar staff very pleasant & professional. Rooms clean, choice of various lighting & good shower. Join up for benefits. Very pleasant stay & will return.
Arrived early with intention of just putting bag in storage but room was already ready which was a bonus. Bed and pillows/ bedding very comfortable. No noise at all from the train station considering it's closeness. Staff very friendly.
Good location! Very central
From the ease of booking, good value, and great staff. I really enjoyed my stay in Glasgow. The only small issue was the room was very warm. Proved difficult to cool the room.
All good. I will be sure to book again. Thanks for the early check in :) I appreciate it.
Fantastic hotel, third time staying and one of best nights sleep I have ever had.
Had the pleasure of staying here on Easter Sunday. No issues, liked the egg hunt in our room only managed to find 2 though?
A really lovely hotel in a fantastic location - nice rooms with big comfy bed - brilliant power shower too.
I stay often, one of the best hotel chains I've stayed with, for efficiency, value & friendliness.
I cancelled the reservation and asked for a refund. I have raised 2 tickets and not received any reply yet. Requesting refund. Thanks!
The hotel is lovely and very clean, the vibe is very welcoming, the Easter hunt was quite fun and well appreciated. The cleanliness of the room and overall hotel was exceptional. The only gripes we have is the pillows weren’t the best suited to us personally and the breakfast being continental style wasn’t quite what we were expecting.
Staff very friendly and helpfull
Good location in city centre, friendly and professional staff, great room and facilities and nice touch with Easter treats provided in room.
Nice hotel close to Glasgow Central Station.
Music on from outside hotel until 3am. A warning should have been given from room 205 stating this. Also no draught beer on tap and breakfast was absolutely terrible. I would rather sleep on the street than stay in that hotel again.
In the bedroom there was 4 different size pillows not one matched we a a square that looked as if it was from a cushion, thin rectangle, bigger rectangle, and one normal size pillow and all very uncomfortable but after from that everthing else was good so if the pillow situation got sorted out it would have been a 10.
Excellent accommodation. Perfect for train station and Ovo Hydro, where we were seeing Peter Kay. Staff were very helpful and polite. Room was perfect.
I have stayed at this hotel many times and have always given an excellent review but this last visit was not good. My daughter and I were sharing a room. The room was really hot. We tried to get the AC to come on but it was just circulating the warm air that was already in our room. We barely slept as it was so uncomfortable. We phoned reception at 5am to see if anyone could take a look at it; we were told "no" but was offered a fan, which they expected us to get dressed and come down to pick up from reception ourselves! We spoke to the Manager the following morning. We were told that AC isn't available until later in the year when it reaches a certain temperature outside; that's not good enough, you should be able to control your room temperature all year round! If you open the window it's very noisy from the city that never sleeps!
Never had a bad stay here. Always a good clean comfortable room, and staff are always friendly and helpful. Superb location
After a long journey a warm welcome was received at reception from a very helpful staff. The premises are very well located for exploring Glasgow on foot or by local transport with easy access to retail outlets and restaurants.
Lovely hotel and nice pleasant staff. Rooms were fab with a great view from 6th floor. Would recommend
The hotel was clean and quiet and very conveniently located in town. Staff were friendly on check-in. Room was comfortable and well-appointed.
Found the hotel to be of great value with an excellent breakfast. Can't comment on lounge/bar as didn't use it, but visually looked really nice.
We are returning customer and enjoy motel one. Staff friendly, nice cocktails etc. But on this occasion the room was very warm and the air con was defective. Which resulted in very little sleep. Reception took a note of the defective. 1247.
This was a great choice for us! They allowed us store our bags before check in time. The room was very clean, as they cleaned it every day + changed the towels etc. l loved that it was very convenient to the city.
So convenient for Central Station. Clean and comfortable room. Friendly staff. Altogether, a very pleasant stay.
Really like your hotel and have stayed now a few times. The rooms were great, quite big, especially the bed. Bathroom is very nice too. The current soaps are lovely although one small improvement would be to have hand cream or body milk too.
all great apart from the horrible plastic cups in the bedrooms
All good
Great location and clean hotel
Great central location. Amazing shower. Staff were friendly and welcoming.
I was allocated a room on the sixth floor with a great city view. The room was good. Clean and spacious.
On arrival, even tho it close to midnight, I was greeted with v friendly & informative staff, who gave great advice. Room was clean & had all I needed. Watched a great film til I dropped off. Enjoyed the free teas & shower. Participate liked the 12noon check out!
Great hotel. The room was clean. Bed was comfortable. The staff were helpful. I liked the lounge and the books that were available for reading. A drinking water station would have been good, to fill up my bottle.
Fantastic hotel.. central to everything. The room was excellent, clean and very comfortable.. staff were very friendly and helpful.. thank you for a great stay xx

A journey studded with design
We have packed everything we need for the styling concept of our Motel One Glasgow: Get on board and enjoy the ride!

Art with heart
The art at the Motel One in Glasgow takes you on a journey through the Scottish Highlands. The photography from artist duo Scullion and Dalziel captures details and impressions of romantic, rugged nature from unusual perspectives.
Hotel Glasgow
Situated immediately next to Glasgow Central Station, our affordable design hotel is dedicated to railway romance. The Motel One Glasgow combines the industrial character of train and rail technology with the special sense of adventure that accompanies a journey by train. Be inspired by the detailed artworks by Scottish photography duo Matthew Dalziel and Louise Scullion and take an exciting trip through the history of trains.
Our employees are busy operating the switches behind the reception to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Wireflow lights by Vibia are reminiscent of the shape of tracks and railroad switches. Our One Lounge is also electrifying: the Spectre design suspended luminaires by Quasar create a visual reference to high-voltage power cables, and you can read the timetable for the Central Station on an infoscreen mounted on the stone wall. If you’d like to experience an antique train compartment for yourself, take a seat on the quilted benches.
Shelves and tables transport you to Glasgow’s industrial past with high-quality brass fittings, while Aldo Bernardi wall lamps round off the design concept. The bar takes a more rustic approach: enjoy a view of Dalziel and Scullion’s amazing photography as you sit at the genuine wooden counter and channel the excitement of travelling by train.
Whether you visit us by train, plane or car, you can take advantage of the same comfortable box-spring beds, extensive breakfast buffet and free WiFi in our affordable design hotel that you have come to expect from Motel One. Situated immediately next to Glasgow Central Station, the hotel is not only highly accessible by public transport, it is also the ideal starting point for exploring sights like the Gallery of Modern Art, City Chambers and Glasgow Cathedral. Full steam ahead!
