Abstract

Neuropsychological assessment of individuals with acquired brain injury is essential for developing individualized rehabilitation plans and for enrolling patients in research studies. Several methodological issues can affect the validity and interpretation of results. This article discusses several critical points related to theoretical assumptions, administration procedures, intrinsic characteristics of the tests, and contextual variables. The aim is to promote methodological reflection leading to more rigorous, informed, and theoretically grounded assessment practices.
