Empowering our nurses, supporting employee healthcare and wellbeing   Sibanye-Stillwater recently hosted the South African Society of Occupational Health Nursing Practitioners (SASOHN) Pretoria Region workshop at our Recreational Club in Rustenburg.   Participants unpacked the many successes and challenges experienced in the occupational health sector. Different exhibitors showcased systems to combat occupation-related consequences, including hearing loss.   Members also explored the Sibanye-Stillwater operated Bleskop Hospital Mines Clinic in Rustenburg, where they visited the heat tolerance screening centre and the vitals screening section, providing them with insight into the occupational health services the company offers to new and existing employees.   Workshops such as these illustrate the importance Sibanye-Stillwater places on the health and wellbeing of our employees and the continued professional development and empowerment of our nursing staff.   #SibanyeStillwater #ForGoodTogether #SASOHN #EmployeeWellbeing #Nursing

Championing inclusion “Progress should not simply be measured by how many women enter mining, but by how many stay, thrive, lead and create opportunities for those who come after them.” These powerful words from Sibanye-Stillwater Chief Sustainability Officer Melanie Naidoo-Vermaak set the tone for her keynote address at the 3rd annual WIMSA Symposium, held from 21-22 July at Randpark Golf Club, Randburg. Under the theme “Women Leading the Next Mining Shift: Innovation, Partnerships and Impact”, industry leaders and partners came together to explore how innovation, collaboration and inclusive leadership can accelerate women’s participation and success in mining.     Melanie highlighted a few essentials required to ensure success: ·       Know your power ·       Protect dignity and psychological safety ·       Unlock potential through empowerment ·       Embrace unity as a force that turns intention into transformation At Sibanye-Stillwater, we believe that inclusion is not a women's agenda. Celebrating performance excellence and innovativeness   Sibanye-Stillwater employees were recently awarded the second prize in the 2026 United Nations Global Compact South Africa Network’s SDG Innovation Accelerator for Young Professionals. The Sibanye-Stillwater team reimagined innovative ways to dispose of tailings waste, by repurposing it into fertilizer, cement aggregate and bricks. This initiative seeks to reduce environmental footprint, save costs, protect the environment and create sustainable jobs. Since 1900 for example, 257 tailings incidents have occurred, killing over 2,650, largely innocent indigenous community members.   Additionally, the Sibanye-Stillwater team was also one of the top four in the National GBVF Campaign Coalition’s logo challenge, designing a symbol to represent the fight against gender-based violence and femicide in South Africa. Volunteering our 67 minutes to help learners and the elderly Sibanye-Stillwater supported Mandela Day 2026 by participating in clean-up activities at Badirile Secondary School in Khutsong, Carletonville, in partnership with the Gauteng Department of Environment, Gauteng West Department of Education, and the Merafong City Local Municipality. Our SA PGM operations, in collaboration with the North West Education Department Bojanala District, the Madibeng Local Municipality, Helping Environment & Resilient Development (HERD) and other community stakeholders, also supported a clean-up campaign at Tlhapi-Moruwe Primary School in Wonderkop.   Additionally, company employees from the Beatrix operation in the Free State volunteered their 67 minutes at Hlomphanang Old Age Home, Mmamahabane, Matjhabeng, cleaning the facility, tending to the garden, painting the centre, and donating food parcels and financial support for groceries.   Speaking at Badirile Secondary School, COO South Africa operations, Richard Cox, stated that these activities will contribute to improved learning and teaching conditions, improved dignity and wellbeing, and encourage everyone to take ownership of recycling and waste management. Preserving local heritage and celebrating host cultures   The Sibanye-Stillwater Foundation recently funded extended renovations to the Kaustinen Local Heritage Museum in Finland, which details the story of the region’s history and identity. Renovations included accessibility improvements to the museum’s first floor and were carried out by local volunteers.   The Foundation also sponsored activities of the Finnish Folk Music Institute in Kaustinen. These will allow for the purchase of musical instruments and equipment for the local world renowned children’s fiddle-playing group (Näppärit), as well as supporting the hosting of Marimba workshops at the annual Kaustinen Folk Music Festival, providing opportunities for locals to learn new skills and explore diverse musical cultures.   As part of this, we are also supporting and exhibiting at the festival, which is the largest music and dance festival in Nordic countries and is wrapping up today.   This sponsorship forms part of the Sibanye-Stillwater Foundation’s ambition to help improve the quality of life in our host communities and advance environmental and social wellbeing. Building capacity, improving service delivery   Sibanye-Stillwater recently handed over laptops and ICT equipment to the Bakgaga Ba Mphahlele, Ndlovu-Ledwaba and Zebediela Traditional Authorities in Limpopo. This equipment will help them improve their administration, record keeping and management activities, while also enabling them to apply to institutions such as the Land Bank and National Empowerment Fund for available funding opportunities that will benefit their communities.   Leaders from these traditional authorities also previously completed a Finance for Non-Financial Managers programme at the Wits Business School (WBS), delivered in partnership with WBS and the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA). Additionally, they were provided with 12 months of mentorship and helped to complete the Land Bank Agri-Finance Training by our project partner ShakesShem.   The traditional authorities thanked Sibanye-Stillwater, stating that the equipment, training and mentorship will allow them to improve administration, accountability, budgeting and service delivery in the areas they govern.   #SibanyeStillwater #ForGoodTogether #SharedValue #CommunityEmpowerment
