This report examines the intersection of domestic violence perpetration and child sexual abuse, addressing a significant gap in research and policy where these forms of violence are typically considered separately. Drawing on four components—a systematic literature review, analysis of 65 family law cases, practitioner interviews, and survivor interviews—the study explores patterns of co-occurrence, system responses, and the experiences of affected families.
Findings indicate that while domestic violence modestly increases the risk of child sexual abuse, the presence of child sexual abuse substantially elevates the likelihood of domestic violence, with girls disproportionately affected. Family law case analysis demonstrates challenges in substantiating abuse, with child sexual abuse less likely to be confirmed than domestic violence, and court outcomes often influenced by evidentiary limitations and expert assessments.
Practitioner and survivor accounts highlight systemic shortcomings, including fragmented service responses, gendered biases, and the frequent disbelief of mothers and children. These dynamics create a “double bind” for women attempting to protect children and can result in ongoing exposure to harm. Survivors report significant barriers to disclosure, support, and navigation of legal and welfare systems, often experiencing re-traumatisation through institutional processes.
The report concludes that current legal, policy, and service frameworks are inadequately equipped to respond to co-occurring abuse, and calls for integrated, trauma-informed, and gender-sensitive approaches that prioritise safety, coordination across sectors, and survivor-centred support.

In this paper, the behavior of twitter bots and their influence on the social media is investigated. As the user population increased on Twitter, it became an ideal platform for social manipulation and influencing perspectives. There has been a rise in autonomous entities, which are known to exploit Twitter's API feature by performing actions such as tweeting, retweeting, liking, following, or messaging other users, that engage in social engineering. In this research, a framework based on existing research to detect these autonomous entities on Twitter is presented. For detection, tweet syntax analysis, user behavior along with sentiment analysis is performed. Sentiment analysis is an opinion mining technique which analyzes people's opinions or sentiments. Crawling on Twitter is performed for random tweets, user specific tweets and features are extracted by aggregating the tweets by their senders. Based on the resultant information the human or bot training and classification is made. After successfully training with SVM, this model was able to detect Twitter bots with a precision of 0.75.

The intersection of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) and the adult industry represents a paradigmatic transformation in the contemporary sexual economy. Moving away from traditional narratives focused solely on the proliferation of synthetic visual content, this article analyzes the phenomenon through the lens of "creative destruction" and emotional capitalism. It is argued that GenAI is not simply automating distribution, but is eradicating the "emotional labor" behind platform-mediated sex work. Exploring the dislocation of precarious workers in the "sweatshops of intimacy", the algorithmic expropriation of identity through "Human Digital Twins", and the inhomogeneous regimes of "fantasy arbitration", the analysis finally shifts to the phenomenon of Synthetic Intimacy. The article concludes that the true horizon of industry is not the generation of perfect bodies, but the industrialization of affect and the systematic extraction of value from human solitude through the illusion of parasocial relationality.

Der niedrigschwelligere bezeichnet für eine Arbeitshaltung, die sich mit philosophischer Methodik einem neu erschlossenen Phänomenbereich zuwendet. Der anspruchsvollere Ansatz besteht darin, über und durch die Wahl jenes Phänomenbereichs ein neues philosophisches Paradigma zu begründen. Resumen En Nueva España, las mujeres se asomaron al mundo de los impresos con producciones literarias, sobre todo poesía; sin embargo, la invasión de Napoleón Bonaparte a España, en 1808, dio la pauta para que se incorporaran al debate político. El hecho marcó el inicio de la transformación en muchos órdenes del antiguo régimen y provocó la reconfiguración del mundo hispánico. El objetivo de esta contribución es localizar, visibilizar y analizar la escritura literaria y política de las mujeres, empleando la categoría de género para reconocer a quienes rompieron con los cánones de la época y expusieron sus escritos en un entorno político no cotidiano, social y culturalmente. Hoy sabemos que la mujer hispana tuvo una función relevante, por más que la historiografía tradicional haya invisibilizado su actuación, y enfrentó al enemigo desde diversas trincheras: en el campo de batalla, en hospitales, al tomar las armas, en la colecta de donativos y recursos para los soldados, así como en la escritura pública. La publicación de sus ideas políticas constituyó una ruptura de las actividades tradicionales de las mujeres al adentrarse a la esfera pública con sus opiniones, en aquel entonces, terreno exclusivo de los varones.

La gráfica política distribuida por redes sociodigitales plasmó las subjetividades
de las y los artistas que trazaron las problemáticas que la emergencia sanitaria
dejó al descubierto en los primeros meses del confinamiento en 2020. Con
gran variedad de técnicas como el dibujo, la pintura, el grabado, la serigrafía
e incluso la ilustración digital, la gráfica que elegimos refiere a diversas temáticas:
crítica a las redes sociodigitales, la casa y las desigualdades sociales, el

This article aims to contribute to the debate and to the advancement of research on the subjects who participate in the contemporary media ecosystem, beyond their consideration as mere receivers. From a meso-level approach, and following a general review of audience studies, a new model for the periodization of mediatizations will be proposed. In a second stage, several
quantitative studies focused on adolescence will be discussed
and compared with earlier phases of this type of
research. Third, the article will examine current contributions
to mediatization studies from a sociosemiotic
perspective within today’s hypermediated ecosystem.

The question of "Who Owns the Internet?" uncovers a complex reality: the internet operates as a decentralized network governed by a web of agreements among governments, private corporations, and international bodies, with no single controlling entity. This decentralized nature presents challenges in harmonizing laws and standards across jurisdictions. While major private companies, including Tier 1 ISPs and tech giants, manage significant infrastructure and data traffic, governments and organizations like ICANN play crucial roles in regulation and standard-setting. Aligning international regulations with local practices is essential due to the internet's borderless nature. Key challenges include cybersecurity, data privacy, and intellectual property, which complicate efforts to develop cohesive legal frameworks that support a global digital economy while respecting national sovereignty. The concept of internet access as a fundamental human right has gained prominence, with international declarations and national frameworks in countries such as Costa Rica, Estonia, and Finland recognizing its importance for freedoms like speech and education. However, debates continue over whether internet access should be classified as a fundamental right, with critics concerned about practical implications and governmental burdens. Proponents argue that in the digital age, such access is vital for exercising human rights and fostering equitable development. This ongoing discourse highlights the need for adaptable legal frameworks to manage evolving digital challenges.

Domestic abuse definitions have broadened from physical violence to include coercive control, a pattern of behavior that includes threats, stalking, psychological abuse, economic abuse, sexual coercion, isolation and denying autonomy. This shift parallels rising international parental child abduction cases, especially mothers and children escaping abuse. The 1980 Hague Convention on international child abduction mandates rapid cross-border child return yet allows exceptions when return creates grave harm or intolerable conditions for the child. We argue courts should refuse return orders upon finding evidence of coercive control, since such abusive behavior fundamentally endangers children's psychological and physical wellbeing and exposes them to intolerable situations.

Però c’è un altro alfabeto che usiamo per comunicare, quello basato sui nostri dati: sono i numeri che scambiamo, ormai quasi sempre online, consapevolmente – comunicando con persone, enti, banche, assicurazioni, associazioni – e inconsapevolmente, attraverso i sistemi digitali che rilevano le nostre azioni, scelte, idee (dalle carte di credito al web, social in testa). Én már évek óta foglalkozom a társadalmi tevékenységek fizikai térből kibertérbe és a kibertéri platformokra áttolódásával, de ezt eddig úgy fogtam fel, hogy ami eddig a fizikai téri közvetlen, szemtől-szemben interakciókban zajlott le, az mostantól nagy mértékben a kibertéri platformok közvetítésével megy végbe. Magam példáján ugyan tudtam homályosan, hogy a korábbi fizikai téri nehézkes körülmények között csak a kommunikációk töredékét hajtottam végre ahhoz képest, hogy mostanában akár az óránkénti emailek és a facebook viták tucatjai, google keresések és a google AI módjában kérdések feltevése naponta akár száz feletti számra is felviszi napi kommunikációimat a kibertérben. Ez pedig akkor így van a többi embernél is, és ezzel az egyének feletti társadalmi szinten megsokszorozódik a kommunikációs sűrűség a korábbiakhoz képest. Ez egyre inkább a kommunikációs sűrűségrobbanás társadalmának nevezhető. Erre a jelenségre a legutóbbi magyar parlamenti választások kapcsán figyeltem fel, mert itt már 36 éve 65-70% volt a szavazásban résztevők aránya, és a drámai versengés ritka eseteiben is legfeljebb csak 71%-ra ment fel a 36 év alatti tapasztalatok szerint. Most ugyan ismét drámai versengés volt a kampányban, de az eddigi tapasztalatok alapján minden szakértő legfeljebb 72%-ot prognosztizált. Ehhez képest majd 80% lett ez a szám, és teljesen új fiatal szavazói rétegek is megjelentek a szavazóurnáknál, miközben korábban legfeljebb 20-30% szavazott ezekből korosztályokból. Ez pedig teljesen átfordította a politikai táborok szavazási arányait. A kibertéri platformok ugyanis a fiatalok folyamatos elérését és társadalmi kommunikációba bevonását tette lehetővé, és az okosmobilok óta kb. 2016-tól minden fiatal napi sok órán át valamelyik platformon kommunikál. Mivel most a kormányleváltó politikai tábor a fiataloknak tetsző megújulást és kormányelzavarással új szabadság légkörét tudta elterjeszteni, így az elvileg már bő tíz éve létező kommunikációs elérés és bevonás révén most majd egymilliós új szavazóréteg özönlött be a szavazók közé, és átfordították a politikai eredményeket. A kommunikációs sűrűségrobbanás társadalma hirtelen megmutatta magát. De ez a bevett sémáinkat és várakozásainkat majd más terepen is meglepheti majd a jövőben.

As redes de radiocomunicação são uma das principais ferramentas de apoio das entidades que desenvolvem ações em Segurança Pública, sendo necessária constante modernização e atualização destas tecnologias para que estas possuam uma ação efetiva perante a sociedade. A repercussão alcançou vários países e ofereceu novos debates políticos. O artigo apresenta o caso e suas estratégias de comunicação, empregadas pelos estudantes e também tenta mostrar o seu legado.

Este artigo analisa a relação entre sistemas de
Machine Learning e o direito à explicação nas
decisões automatizadas, com enfoque na
proteção dos direitos fundamentais no contexto
da Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados. Parte-se do
problema decorrente da crescente utilização de
algoritmos na tomada de decisões que afetam
diretamente os indivíduos, muitas vezes
caracterizadas por elevado grau de opacidade e
dificuldade de compreensão dos critérios
utilizados. O objetivo da pesquisa consiste em
examinar em que medida o direito à explicação
pode atuar como mecanismo de transparência e
controle jurídico sobre decisões automatizadas.
Para alcançar esse objetivo, adotou-se
abordagem qualitativa, com utilização do método
dedutivo e da técnica de pesquisa bibliográfica, a
partir da análise de literatura especializada em
inteligência artificial, proteção de dados e
direitos fundamentais. Os resultados indicam
que, embora os sistemas de Machine Learning
ampliem significativamente a capacidade de
análise e processamento de dados, eles também
introduzem desafios relevantes relacionados à
opacidade algorítmica, à possibilidade de
discriminação algorítmica e à limitação da
autonomia informativa dos indivíduos. Conclui-
se que o direito à explicação constitui
instrumento essencial para a promoção da
transparência, da responsabilização e da proteção
dos direitos fundamentais no uso de sistemas de
decisão automatizada

Jednym z ważniejszych rozpoznań wynikających z naszych badań jest kontrast pomiędzy dużą codzienną aktywnością kulturalną badanych a ich stosunkowo niewielkim udziałem w działaniach z oferty instytucji kultury. Większość osób pozostaje zatem aktywna, ale zarazem nieobecna – w pewnym sensie podwójnie: odseparowana od otoczenia ludzkiego w wyniku aktywności podejmowanych samotniczo, niejako za ścianą swoich
indywidualnych wyborów, i jednocześnie nieskłonna do tego, by te  aktywności podejmować wspólnie, zwłaszcza za pośrednictwem instytucji, co oznacza też nieobecność w sferze publicznej. Już choćby ta konkluzja dowodzi, że badania kontekstowe pozwalają na nowe otwarcie dyskusji nie tylko w obszarze metodologii, ale przede wszystkim – polityk
i praktyk kulturalnych.

This study investigates the impact of social media on the mental health of young adults aged 18-25. Utilizing a qualitative research approach, the study explores how social media usage influences both positive and negative mental health outcomes. Through in-depth interviews and thematic analysis, key factors such as social connection, support, social comparison, cyber bullying, and addiction were identified. The findings reveal a dual impact: while social media can foster a sense of community and provide access to mental health resources, it also contributes to anxiety, depression, and low selfesteem when usage is excessive or driven by negative comparisons. The study underscores the importance of promoting balanced and mindful social media use among young adults to enhance positive outcomes and mitigate adverse effects. Recommendations for healthier social media practices and directions for future research are also discussed.

A través de Internet podemos acceder a un reservorio de fijaciones sonoras cuantioso, diverso y en constante crecimiento, al mismo tiempo que a una multiplicidad de técnicas, tecnologías y herramientas que permiten crear, almacenar y editar esas fijaciones. Las características de ese reservorio, junto con el carácter modular del sound file y la creciente conectividad, empoderan a los/as usuarios/as para generar y manipular sonidos, explorar creativamente medios, lenguajes y géneros, y producir expresiones híbridas. La identificación de las formas en que los/as usuarios/as emplean las fijaciones sonoras con las que interactúan cotidianamente parece, en principio, una zona restringida para la investigación. Sin embargo, en muchos casos esos usos resultan visibles y develan los condicionamientos que buscan imponer las plataformas, así como también el grado de empoderamiento de los/as usuarios/as. El propósito de este artículo es ofrecer una primera aproximación a los usos de las fijaciones sonoras a las que se accede por Internet a partir de la distinción entre usos recomendados, condicionados y efectivos. Para desarrollar esta distinción examinamos los sistemas de recomendación de las plataformas de comercialización de música; las playlists generadas para acompañar, estimular o inhibir actividades específicas; los mensajes de voz creados mediante aplicaciones de mensajería instantánea; una página web con fijaciones sonoras; y un canal de YouTube con producciones audiovisuales. Resultan centrales en este recorrido los conceptos de intermedialidad e hibridación.

True crime content attracts widespread public interest, yet the extent to which perceived significance of exposure shapes people's perceptions of suspects and institutional performance remains understudied. This study offers a pioneering examination of how the perceived significance of exposure to both social and mass media influences public opinion regarding crime cases. I focus on the high-profile case of Roman Zadorov, who was convicted of murdering Tair Rada in 2006 in Katzrin, Israel, imprisoned for over a decade, and ultimately acquitted. Using a nationally representative survey of 500 participants, I investigated how perceived significance of exposure relates to levels of interest, knowledge, opinions, and trust in institutional actors such as the police, prosecutors, and courts. The analysis reveals that social media and mass media exert mutual influence: the more people are exposed to one, the greater their interest in the case. This heightened interest leads to increased knowledge and more critical opinions about Zadorov's guilt and the functioning of the police, the prosecutors, and the courts. The study's structural model demonstrates a sequence whereby perceived significance of exposure fuels interest, which in turn enhances knowledge and shapes opinions. To the best of my knowledge, this research is the first to test this full pathway, offering new insight into the powerful role of media in forming public perceptions of institutions and justice.

ABSTRACT
The increasing adoption of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) has brought forth significant security challenges,
particularly in mitigating distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks. These attacks significantly degrade network
performance by bombarding sensor nodes with high volumes of traffic, causing resource depletion and service
interruptions. Due to the constrained processing capacity, memory, and energy of WSNs, they are highly susceptible
to such threats, which can rapidly drain battery power, reduce communication efficiency, and jeopardize data accuracy.
As a result, essential functions like real-time data collection and transmission may be disrupted, impacting critical
applications such as environmental monitoring, healthcare, and industrial automation. Moreover, DDoS attacks can
introduce security weaknesses, increasing the risk of further exploitation by malicious entities. This paper introduces
PSO_KAN, a novel hybrid model that integrates Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) with the Kolmogorov-Arnold
Network (KAN) to improve the detection of such attacks in WSNs. Utilizing Kolmogorov’s superposition theorem;
KAN decomposes complex multivariate functions into simpler univariate components. In this framework, PSO plays a
key role in optimizing the choice and tuning of these univariate functions and their parameters to ensure accurate
representation of attack behaviors. By harnessing PSO’s ability to perform global optimization, the proposed model
delivers enhanced performance in terms of detection accuracy, scalability, and computational efficiency. The
experimental findings indicate that PSO-KAN attains a remarkable accuracy of 97.5%, surpassing conventional Neural
Networks (91.2%), Convolutional Neural Networks (94.5%), Long Short-Term Memory networks (95.1%), and even
Neural Networks optimized with PSO (96.7%). This represents a 6.3% improvement over standard Neural Networks
and a 0.8% gain compared to other PSO-enhanced models, demonstrating the superiority of the proposed method.
Additionally, the model consistently achieves high Precision, Recall, and F1-Scores across various attack types,
reinforcing its reliability in network security applications. These results underscore the effectiveness of the integration
of PSO and KAN, providing a powerful approach for strengthening the security of WSNs against sophisticated cyber
threats.

Syftet med denna uppsats var att se hur Nordiska Afrikainstitutet använder sig av sociala medier och hur de tillämpar den information som organisationen kommunicerat via de sociala medierna. Teoretisk ram: Uppsatsen utgår ifrån teorier som ger överblick i hur traditionella och moderna kommunikationsredskap fungerar. Därutöver har ett analytiskt instrument använts som kartlägger kommunikationsprocesser i organisationer samt hur dessa tar tillvara på ny kunskap. Den teoretiska referensram består av följande teorier: Media Richness modellen samt de två artiklarna On using organizational knowledge capabilities to assist organizational learning samt Virtual worlds as platforms for communities of pratices från antologin Knowledge management and organizational learning. Metod: Uppsatsen bygger på en kvalitativ metod. Det empiriska materialet har samlats in genom respondentintervjuer, dessa bestod av telefonintervjuer samt epostkorrespondens. För att urskilja respondenterna har ett snöbollsurval använts. Intervjuerna har därefter analyserats utifrån den teoretiska referensramen. Resultat: Resultatet av undersökningen visar att både traditionella och sociala medier används vid institutet där de traditionella medierna anses trovärdiga men inte alltid flexibla. De sociala medier som används är Facebook, Twitter och institutets egna forum kallat NAI-forum. Undersökningen visar att de sociala medierna är en användbar kanal för nå ut till flertalet användare på ett informellt sätt. Tendenser visar att sociala medier underlättat kommunikationen för institutet då de lättare kan nå en större målgrupp och föra en dialog med dessa. Det framkom också att institutet diskuterar och kommenterar förfrågningar som görs via de sociala medierna och tar tillvara på den information som förvärvas genom de sociala medierna. Undersökningen visade också att det finns en stor potential med att använda sociala medier och respondenterna tror att inom en snar framtid kommer de också att spela en allt viktigare roll i NAI:s kommunikationsarbete.

This article develops an interdisciplinary theoretical framework and comparative research program to explain why the public visibility and agenda-setting capacity of social movements so often fail to translate into binding institutional impact. Rather than presenting empirical findings, it is conceived as a theory-building intervention. More specifically, the article seeks to extend the explanatory reach of the Political Opportunity Structures (POS) literature-which has been particularly effective in explaining access to the political system-into the processes of policy formulation and implementation through the concept of institutional insulation mechanisms. Institutional influence is reconceptualized along three dimensions: access, oversight, and binding policy impact. The article examines financial filters in the legislative arena and technical or algorithmic opacity in the administrative arena as functionally equivalent mechanisms that distance public pressure from binding outcomes. It then proposes a methodological roadmap, grounded in strategic case selection and process tracing, to show how these mechanisms may be empirically tested, which observable traces should be examined, and how rival explanations can be systematically ruled out.

A desinformação é um problema contemporâneo que desafia a sociedade ao combinar tantos elementos para a manipulação da informação — dentre eles, a própria estrutura das plataformas digitais e outros processos desenvolvidos nas décadas recentes. Esse fenômeno vem sendo debatido em múltiplas frentes na tentativa de criar mecanismos de enfrentamento mais eficazes, mas ainda não se tem uma perspectiva clara sobre como reduzir a influência da desinformação. A presente obra tem como objetivo estabelecer um diagnóstico ao mesmo tempo em que analisa a democracia e o Direito como meios de emancipação. Fruto de uma tese de doutorado e inspirada nos desafios trazidos pela desinformação para a manutenção do Estado Democrático de Direito, a obra faz uma análise de discurso da desinformação veiculada através de notícias em websites diversos, buscando compreender se tais elementos discursivos podem ser usados como identificadores do discurso desinformativo.

Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), which includes digital identification systems, mobile payments, and data-sharing platforms, has become central to Africa’s digital transformation agenda. Although DPI is frequently framed as a means of improving efficiency and expanding access to essential services, its current implementation across the continent reveals a widening disconnect between technological ambition and social reality. Women, ethnic minorities, gender-diverse communities, and other underrepresented groups often experience DPI not as an enabler of inclusion, but as an additional barrier to participation. This policy brief argues that rights-respecting and equity-focused governance is essential if DPI is to advance, rather than undermine, social justice
