The Arab world has seen an increase in the burden of musculoskeletal diseases. No bibliometric studies have characterized rheumatology research in the Arab world. This study evaluates the productivity and impact of rheumatology research in the Arab world. We searched the Web of Science Core Collection for rheumatology publications, from 1976 to 2014, for each of the Arab League (AL) countries, North America, Europe and Asia. For the AL countries, the overall trend of publications and citations was analyzed, while considering the paper type and collaborations. The AL countries published 944 rheumatology papers over the period studied. The number of publications increased by a factor of 2.77 (95 % CI, 2.75-2.78) each decade, and citations increased by a factor of 2.36 (95 % CI, 0.96-5.82). The absolute number of papers included in the top-10 rheumatology journals remained constant but the proportion decreased. Papers involving collaboration among AL countries were found to increase over time. Conclusions: Overall, the AL countries lag in research productivity and impact compared to other regions. Three countries are responsible for the majority of publications, while four countries receive the majority of citations.

РАЗВИТИЕ СОДЕРЖАНИЯ ЛИЧНОГО ДНЕВНИКА УЧАЩЕГОСЯ КАК ПЕДАГОГИЧЕСКОГО ИНСТРУМЕНТА ВОСПИТАНИЯ И РАЗВИТИЯ РЕБЕНКА Аннотация: в статье исследуется генезис содержания личных дневников для учащихся. Необходимо отметить, что личные дневники учащегося издавались под разными названиями: календарь для учащегося, календарь-справочник, записная книжка, но элементы их содержания и педагогическая роль были идентичны и соответствовали личному дневнику учащегося. Так эти памятники печатной продукции мы и будем называть в нашем исследовании. Приводится анализ их содержания в различные периоды истории России: в период Российской Империи и СССР 30-х и 50-60-х годов. Указывается на их значение в воспитании и развитии учащегося.

Bu çalışmada, Anadolu'nun tarihi şehirlerinden biri olan Develi hakkında yazılmış bilimsel eserler (makale, kitap ve tez), sosyal ağ analizi metodu kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Bunun için kaynakça. info adlı web tabanlı bir sistem üzerinde Develi Bibliyografik Atıf Dizini oluşturulmuştur. Bu çerçevede 156 adet eserin bibliyografik künyesi ve bunlara ait 1700 civarındaki atıf verisi söz konusu sisteme yüklenmiştir. Bu veriler Sosyal Ağ Analizi (SAA) ve Muhteva Analizi yöntemleri ile incelenmiştir. Analizler sonucunda Develi hakkındaki anahtar nitelikte araştırmalar yapmış (çok atıf alan) ve ağda farklı grupları birbirine bağlayan köprü konumundaki kişiler görünür hale getirilmiştir. Bu bulguların Develi bölgesi ile ilgili araştırmaya ve okumaya yeni başlayacak kişilere yol gösterici olacağı düşünülmektedir. Bildiride ayrıca çalışmanın kapsamının genişletilmesi konusunda önerilere yer verilmektedir.

В статье сравниваются достоинства и недостатки российских библиографических стандартов (ГОСТ Р 7.0.100, ГОСТ Р 7.0.5) и их аналогов в англоязычном мире, а также особенности их практического применения с точки зрения их использования в библиографических указателях и списках. Как показывает проведённый анализ, оптимальным решением для таких ресурсов на русском языке является оформление библиографических записей по правилам ГОСТ Р 7.0.5, а не ГОСТ Р 7.0.100.

The article provides a comparative analysis of the Russian bibliographic standards (GOST R 7.0.100 and GOST R 7.0.5) and of their equals in the English-speaking world as well as of the particularities of their actual use from the viewpoint of styling a bibliographic index or a bibliographic list. This analysis shows that the most appropriate solution for such indices and lists in Russian is a full bibliographic description of each item styled according to GOST R 7.0.5 instead of GOST R 7.0.100 which is most often used in Russia in such cases.

В статье рассматриваются правила и традиции оформления библиографических сведений, принятые в англоязычном мире, в основном на примере ISBD и «Чикагского руководства по стилю». Особое внимание уделяется оформлению справочно-библиографического аппарата в научных работах, а также библиографических указателей и списков. Автор приходит к выводу, что англо-американская практика библиографирования отличается от российской прежде всего своей концептуальной основой, включая отсутствие единого стандарта на оформление ссылок, специфические для англоязычной культуры правила написания имён и использования инициалов, оформление библиографических ссылок в соответствии с общими правилами английской пунктуации и типографики. Отличается и используемый понятийный аппарат, включая иное, нежели в российской библиографии, разграничение понятий «библиографическая запись» и «библиографическая ссылка». Как следствие, библиографические списки и указатели на английском языке оформляются по правилам, принятым для библиографических ссылок, что нехарактерно для российской практики.

The article deals with the styling of bibliographical data in the English-speaking world, mainly with the rules of the ISBD and of the Chicago Manual of Style. Special attention is paid to the styling of bibliographic references in scholarly papers and of bibliographic indices. The conceptual framework of Anglo-American bibliographic standards and styles is quite different from their Russian equivalents, including a wide variety of citation styles instead of a single standard, styling bibliographic references according to the common rules of English punctuation and typography, providing full names instead of surname and initials etc. The meaning of the term bibliographic reference in English is wider than in Russian that allows to style bibliographic lists and indices according to the same rules as those used in bibliographic references, in sharp contrast to the Russian practice.

Se encontró que 734 revisiones sistemáticas citaron los estudios retractados de Boldt y 140 citaron los de Fujii. La literatura reporta que diversas habilidades no técnicas vinculadas al liderazgo y la gestión son importantes para los investigadores: comunicación efectiva, trabajo en equipo, acompañamiento profesional, distribución de tareas, planificación estratégica, elaboración de presupuestos, selección y evaluación de personal, y conciencia situacional. Conclusiones: Todos los actores deben fomentar una cultura de integridad en todas las etapas del proceso de investigación para prevenir daños a los pacientes. Es esencial identificar estrategias pedagógicas apropiadas para influir en las competencias, actitudes y comportamientos de los futuros profesionales. El desarrollo de la integridad y el juicio crítico requiere enfoques metodológicos diferentes a los tradicionalmente empleados en las ciencias médicas.

This study uses several bibliometric indices to explore the temporal course of publication trends regarding the bilingual advantage in executive control over a ten-year window. These indices include the number of published papers, numbers of citations, and the journal impact factor. According to the information available in their abstracts, studies were classified into one of four categories: supporting, ambiguous towards, not mentioning, or challenging the bilingual advantage. Results show that the number of papers challenging the bilingual advantage increased notably in 2014 and 2015. Both the average impact factor and the accumulated citations as of June 2016 were equivalent between categories. However, of the studies published in 2014, those that challenge the bilingual advantage accumulated more citations in June 2016 than those supporting it. Our findings offer evidence-based bibliometric information about the current state of the literature and suggest a change in publication trends regarding the literature on the bilingual advantage.

Using matching and regression analyses, we measure the difference in citations between articles posted to Academia.edu and other articles from similar journals, controlling for field, impact factor, and other variables. Based on a sample size of 31,216 papers, we find that a paper in a median impact factor journal uploaded to Academia.edu receives 16% more citations after one year than a similar article not available online, 51% more citations after three years, and 69% after five years. We also found that articles also posted to Academia.edu had 58% more citations than articles only posted to other online venues, such as personal and departmental home pages, after five years.

We prove the Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture for elliptic curves of conductor dividing 840 = lcm(1,. .. , 8), and extend the result to rank ≤ 2 for all conductors. The proof combines Hecke operators on S 2 (Γ 0 (N)) (which rigorously realize the L-function as a spectral determinant via the Modularity Theorem) with the LMFDB verification that all elliptic curves of conductor dividing 840 have rank ≤ 1 (where BSD is proved by Kolyvagin [5] and Gross-Zagier [4]). For rank 2, the 840-manifold provides 6 Heegner-compatible residue classes {311, 479, 551, 671, 719, 839} (mod 840) (from the chiral fold structure), each producing a quadratic twist with analytic rank 1. Descent from two independent twists gives two independent rational points, whose independence follows from the Hecke orthogonality of the height pairing (via the extended Gross-Zagier formula of Yuan-Zhang-Zhang [19]). The Shafarevich-Tate group is finite for rank ≤ 1 (Kolyvagin) and for rank 2 (from the twotwist Euler system). The strong BSD formula holds for rank ≤ 1 by the exact Gross-Zagier formula with Manin constant c E = 1. The 5040 = 7! torsion envelope (from Mazur's theorem [8]) is verified against all 15 possible torsion structures. Computation confirms the BSD identity on 657,396 LMFDB curves to precision 5.4 × 10-15 .

Journal impact is an ill-structured, complex construct. Present bibliometric and survey measures do not capture it fully. The paper deconstructs the combinatorial complexity of the construct using an ontology which encapsulates 2500 potential components of the construct. The ontology is a parsimonious, systemic, and systematic representation of journal impact. The paper presents an ontological analysis of the impact aspirations of 31 top MIS journals (from one of the published surveys) based on their editorial statements. These statements were mapped to the ontology by the authors using consensus coding. The ontological and heat maps derived from the editorial statements reveal significant 'bright', 'light', and 'blank/blind' spotsaspects with heavy, light, and no emphasis. The differences in luminosity pose a number of questions about the impact these journals seek in the emerging turbulent, competitive research publication market. A comparison of these maps with the journals' bibliometric and survey impact measures highlights the differences between the impact measures, their strengths and weaknesses. The ontology and ontological mapping can be used by the journal editors to realign their impact aspirations and strategies in the emerging marketplace.

Reply to the letter to the editor, Aminian et al. submitted a letter to the editor discussing our paper entitled BThe hundred most cited articles in bariatric surgery^ [1]. We thank the commentators for the scrutiny and appreciate their critical response. The authors correctly noted in their letter the fact that a similar paper of their own was published in the Journal of Surgery for Obesity Related Disease in September 2014. The authors of the letter compared the two lists of citation classics between both articles and identified 16 articles missing in the later published study, attributing this to the use of only two keywords. After having carefully studied both articles, it is to be underlined that the authors of the letter, whowe verymuch thank for the concern and additional review, are unfortunate in being mistaken in some of the conclusions drawn based on the simple comparison between the two lists undertaken; the methodology of the two studies notably differed. The present study is a scientometric analysis of research on translation history in Iran published between 1971 and 2021. To this end, 1212 relevant works were identified through databases and categorized into nine groups: works published in Iran (including monographs, book chapters, scientific journal articles, general journal articles, newspaper articles, and theses/dissertations) and works published abroad (including monographs, book chapters, and scientific journal articles). Bibliographic information of these works was then collected and analyzed using VOSviewer software. The analysis focused on five key components: language, date of publication, place of publication, top scientific journals, and top academic institutions. The findings indicate that most research on history of translation in Iran was published in Persian and English, with a relatively increasing trend over the fifty-year period. Furthermore, the majority of these works were published in cities, journals, and academic institutions that have a direct connection to the field of translation studies.

This study delves into the consequences of QUALIS CAPES. To do that, data on the editorial boards of the journals classified as A1 and A2 in the areas of Business, Accounting and Tourism; and Economics are collected. Findings show that the US and the UK dominate the academic production. Brazil and other emerging countries are not relevant. Issues of the five top journals of each area were analyzed, showing that QUALIS may bias research in the country to issues not connected to Brazilian questions.

Objectives: We sought to determine the relationship between changes in natriuretic peptides and symptoms as a consequence of introducing beta-blocker therapy, in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) and persistent atrial fibrillation (AF). Methods: In a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study involving 47 patients with CHF and persistent AF (mean age 68 years and 62% men), we analysed the individual change (Δ) in B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) level to the introduction of carvedilol (titrated to a target dose of 25 mg twice daily, group A) or placebo (group B) in addition to background treatment with digoxin. Symptoms score, 6-min walk distance, New York Heart Association (NYHA) class, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), heart rate (24-hour ECG) and BNP were measured at baseline and at 4 months. This study investigated the advent of Open Access Journals (OAJs) in public universities in Zambia, focusing on support levels, publishing software, licensing models, benefits, and challenges. The study was qualitative in design, and 17 key informants from the three public universities with OAJs were selected to take part in the study. The key informants, who included managing editors, chief editors, and editors of journals, were purposively selected to participate in the study. However, data were collected from 14 key informants through interviews. Three key informants declined to take part in the study. The findings revealed increased support towards OAJs in the three universities due to advocacy activities and growing awareness of the benefits associated with OAJs. There is a positive perception of OAJs among lecturers and researchers, leading to greater acceptance of OAJs in the surveyed public universities. The findings also show that all the OAJs studied were using the Open Journal System (OJS) 3.1.0.1 and Creative Commons (CC BY) Licensing model for publishing. The benefits of OAJs included increased visibility and impact, citations, collaboration opportunities, and reduced costs. However, inadequate training for editorial board members, lack of funds, and limited ICT infrastructure investment, among other challenges, hinder the operations of OAJs in public universities in Zambia. The study's findings highlight the need for consistent training, more institutional support, and advocacy to promote the effective implementation of OAJ publishing in public universities in Zambia.

Sin embargo, esta relación nunca se ha investigado en el campo de la medicina intensiva. Este estudio analiza si el acceso abierto en medicina intensiva favorece el impacto de los artículos científicos en términos de citación. Métodos: Se incluyeron 161 artículos (76% sin acceso abierto) publicados el año 2008 en la revista Intensive Care Medicine. Las citas de cada grupo se compararon hasta fecha 30 de abril de 2011. Se realizó un análisis de regresión lineal múltiple para determinar la relación entre el grado de citación y las posibles variables de confusión. Resultados: La mediana (rango intercuartil) de citas del grupo sin acceso abierto fue 8 (4---12) y con acceso abierto, 9 (6---18) (p = 0,084). Entre los artículos más citados (>8), fue de 13 (10---16) y 18 (13---21) (p = 0,008), respectivamente. El tiempo medio de seguimiento en ambos grupos fue de 37,5 ± 3 meses. Entre los 30---35 meses desde su publicación, la media ± desviación estándar de citas por mes y artículo del grupo sin acceso abierto fue 0,28 ± 0,6 y con acceso abierto, 0,38 ± 0,7 (p = 0,043). Las 2 variables asociadas de manera independiente con el grado de citación fueron el índice de Hirsch del primer autor (␤=0,207; p = 0,015) y el acceso abierto (␤=3,618; p = 0,006). Conclusiones: La publicación en abierto y el índice de Hirsch del primer autor favorecen el impacto de los artículos científicos. La ventaja del acceso abierto es mayor entre los artículos más citados y a los 30---35 meses desde su publicación.

Background: It has been 10 years since Terje Sagvolden founded Behavioral and Brain Functions. Body: After setting the context, this paper reviews some of the contributions of articles in the journal to the literature on ADHD over that decade. Those articles provide a cross section of some of the most important ongoing themes in ADHD research. Terje's faith in the new journal was well founded. It has survived the first threat of new journals, crib death, because of the continuing quality and relevance of the articles it carries. It has a diversified portfolio of similar research in many other fields of related interest.

Fundamento: Um estudo avaliou a relação entre defesas de tese e publicações no âmbito de toda a Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo (FMUSP). Questiona-se a existência de diferenças entre diferentes áreas do conhecimento e no domínio do tempo. Objetivo: Caracterizar as publicações relacionadas às teses defendidas na pós-graduação do Instituto do Coração (InCor) da FMUSP. Métodos: Realizou-se um levantamento retrospectivo junto à pós-graduação de cardiologia da FMUSP, no período de 1994 a 2004. Inicialmente foram coletados dados de alunos que defenderam teses nesse período, de seus orientadores e das próprias teses. A seguir, cruzando informações da Medline® e Web of Science®, localizaram-se publicações desses autores e dados referentes às respectivas publicações. Resultados: Nesse período, foram defendidas 268 teses, que resultaram em 195 publicações, no período de até dez anos após a defesa. As publicações ocorreram com mediana de um ano e nove meses após a sua defesa, com fator impacto mediano de 2,1 e uma mediana de 4 citações por trabalho. Não houve correlação com significância estatística em nenhum dos dados estudados. Conclusão: Uma porcentagem importante das teses é publicada. A publicação tem ocorrido de maneira cada vez mais precoce após a defesa. Esse fato pode estar relacionado ao sucesso das políticas das comissões de pós-graduação e à importância com que esse tema já é debatido atualmente, contribuindo para a melhoria da qualidade da pós-graduação.
