As organizações refletem a sociedade na qual estão inseridas. Se uma determinada cultura é nutrida pela homotransfobia, exorsexismo, racismo, misoginia, capacitismo, gordofobia, etarismo, dentre outros preconceitos, as organizações presentes nesse contexto sofrerão influência das discriminações que permeiam esse corpo social. O trabalho "Contrabinariedade: Gênero e Organizações" surge a partir de provocações sobre as ausências e opressões de gênero causadas pela cisbinariedade compulsória que opera na sociedade brasileira. O enfoque deste trabalho artístico é na área de negócios. Identidades femininas latinas se unem para produzir uma colagem sobre não-binariedade e uma poesia que convoca corpos não hegemônicos a ocuparem os seus espaços nas organizações. Saudando a nossa ancestralidade trans e travesti, tomamos a fala, apresentando ciência-arte a partir de nós, para todas, todes e todos.

RESUMO | O presente artigo visa analisar e mapear os aparatos legais de tutela das mulheres trans encarceradas fazendo a interface entre o Direito e as Ciências Sociais a partir da categoria analítica de gênero e da atuação do movimento feminista. O trabalho tem como objetivo uma análise crítica sobre a exclusão dessa parcela populacional, uma vez que, inicialmente, elas já têm seus direitos desrespeitados ao não ter sua identidade de gênero. Para tanto foi feito uma revisão bibliográfica, com mapeamento e leitura de artigos, livros e principalmente, da legislação brasileira. A pesquisa foi dividida em quatro partes, passando pela categoria de gênero e sua diferença com o sexo, a definição de transexualidade, a abordagem dos direitos fundamentais, para, por fim, relacionar as mulheres trans com o sistema prisional.

The healthcare landscape and its service delivery are rapidly evolving, and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA+) communities continue to encounter disproportionate barriers to care, increased scrutiny, and frequent microaggressions in care, policies, and practices. This article aims to examine healthcare providers' emotional and mental capacity for delivering sexuality-and gender-affirming care, as well as supporting recovery from healthcare provider burnout and access to wellness resources. It explores the intersectional lived experiences of LGBTQAI+ youth, adults, and families within healthcare, along with the oftenoverlooked need for professional well-being. Specifically, I will analyze how intersectionality and healthcare equity in LGBTQIA+ services are influenced by providers' emotional and mental resilience and support systems for burnout prevention and recovery. This book is a collection of ideas and reflections on the history of trans people in Argentina and South America. It is also a collection of stories about my close friends who inspired my research and who have experienced violence at the hands of the Argentine government, police, and military forces over the last 100 years.

The first section is about the history of trans and travesti activism in Argentina. I included four articles in this section, two of them published in non-academic context where I explored the notion of travesti fury, a term invented by Lohana Berkins that symbolizes the key aspects of travesti political experiences. I also included the translation of an academic article published as part of a book collecting the experiences of trans activism in the 20th century and an essay about the links between travesti activism and sex work, during the 80s and 90s, based on interviews and documents. This section aims to analyze the complexity of travesti activism, sometimes reduced to an imitative experience of queer activism in the global north.

The second section is also about trans and travesti activism but more specifically about the connections between these experiences and the activism for human rights in Argentina. Human Rights organizations in Argentina have played a key role in the political narratives of the last two decades, because the memory about the last dictatorship, the struggle for justice, and the seeking of the disappeared people and their children and grandchildren are the core of political life since the return to democracy in 1983. Trans and travesti activism developed a complex relation with the corpus of memories about the last dictatorship, demanded recognition and reparatory policies, and articulated their demands in the same argumentative line of human rights organizations. One of the main results of this link was the numerous trans and travesti archives that emerged during the last decade, mostly oriented to produce evidence and social impact in favor of trans and travesti people who suffered incarceration and repression by the military junta between 1974 to 1983. This section contains four articles with different perspectives about the topic, two of them are focused on the travesti experience and their testimonies about the last dictatorship. These articles are the result of interviews and reports from a journalistic perspective, where the travesti voices are highlighted in order to recognize their struggle for recognition and reparation. I also included two articles written for journals and conferences with a more critical perspective about the topic, regarding the work of colleagues who, like me, propose a more broadly analysis of the violence against trans and queer people independently of the political violence during the last military dictatorship in Argentina.

The third section includes articles with a more biographical style, focused mainly on the activism of some travesti sex workers that were forbidden because of their controversial misbehavior, their link with the sexual work, and their disobedient voices. Finally, the fourth section is a short collection of articles about the recent events in Argentina trans and queer context. I especially covered some significant events like the enactment of the trans labor quota act, the debates about the first census that registered non-binary identities, the achievement of legal abortion in Argentina, and some debates on the LGBT political horizons.

O espaço urbano caracteriza-se, dentre outras coisas, pela profusão dos diferentes grupos que abriga. Tal diversidade é perceptível através dos conflitos existentes nos fluxos, na ocupação dos espaços e em hábitos culturais, manifestos em ações populares ou em intervenções urbanas permanentes. Com a exigência do isolamento e do distanciamento social motivados pela pandemia da covid-19, as interações entre as pessoas e a cultura das cidades foram profundamente modificadas. O fluxo de pessoas nas ruas, da mesma maneira, também foi alterado, de modo que até mesmo a percepção da arte urbana já não se dá pelos mesmos mecanismos. El artículo analiza el expediente judicial de Manolo Santiso, detenido y procesado por escándalo público en la Galicia rural de la inmediata posguerra por vestir de hombre. El contenido del expediente permite reflexionar en dos direcciones aún poco exploradas sobre el pasado contemporáneo de la disidencia sexual en el Estado español. En primer lugar, se abordan las posibilidades teóricas de investigar vidas trans en contextos donde dicha categoría no existía como etiqueta ni como horizonte de posibilidad. A través del análisis de las declaraciones judiciales de Manolo y parte de su entorno, se explora la expresión del deseo como una clave interpretativa para abordar estas experiencias. En segundo lugar, el expediente ofrece una ventana hacia la vida cotidiana y la integración comunitaria de una persona disidente con la norma sexual y de género en un entorno rural. Todo ello en una cronología marcada por el fin de la Guerra Civil y el proceso de construcción del nuevo Estado franquista.

En este trabajo explico las ideas principales de La construcción social de la realidad para analizar cómo se construye socialmente la identidad de género y la situación del colectivo trans. A partir de la teoría de Berger y Luckmann, entiendo que la realidad social no es algo natural ni fijo, sino una construcción creada por las personas mediante normas, instituciones y procesos de socialización. Así, conceptos como los roles sociales o la reificación me permiten explicar cómo muchas normas de género llegan a verse como “naturales”, aunque realmente sean productos históricos y culturales transmitidos por instituciones como la familia, la escuela o los medios de comunicación.

También analizo cómo las identidades trans cuestionan esa visión tradicional y rígida del género. Expongo que muchas instituciones han legitimado históricamente el modelo binario y han marginado a las personas trans mediante discursos médicos, sociales o legales. Sin embargo, considero que los cambios sociales recientes y la mayor visibilidad del colectivo han permitido transformar parte de esas ideas. En conclusión, defiendo que el género y la identidad no dependen solo de factores biológicos, sino también de procesos sociales y culturales que pueden cambiar con el tiempo.

Pakistan has some of the most progressive legislation on paper for the protection of women and transgender persons in South Asia. Four provinces have domestic violence laws. The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act 2018 was internationally lauded. The Criminal Law (Amendment) Act 2016 declared honour killings a non-compoundable offence. The Zainab Alert Act created a federal child protection agency.

And yet: the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan documented 590 honour killings in 2022, 490 in 2023, and at least 405 in 2024 — with a conviction rate of approximately 0.5%. Sahil's Cruel Numbers reports recorded over 4,200 child abuse cases in both 2022 and 2023, averaging eleven children abused every single day. Despite Sindh's domestic violence law being in force since 2013, only two prosecutions had been brought under it by 2023. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 267 cases of violence against transgender persons were recorded over five years — yielding a single conviction. The Lancet published data in 2023 finding that 90% of transgender people in Pakistan had faced physical assault.

Our new policy brief — The Unprotected: Policing Women and Transgender Persons in Pakistan — published by Open Horizons Indonesia, documents this gap between statute and station in full. It traces the data on domestic violence, honour killings, and child sexual abuse across Punjab and Sindh; examines the pattern of police behaviour towards the Khawaja Sira community, from colonial-era criminalisation through the 2023 Federal Shariat Court challenge to the 2018 Act; and maps the institutional landscape — Women's Help Desks, KP's UNDP-supported Gender Strategy, Women Police Councils — that represents the state's genuine but insufficient effort to close the enforcement gap.

The brief does not offer policy prescriptions. It offers something more foundational: a verified documentary account of what is actually happening on the ground. The distance between Pakistan's legislative commitments and the lived experience of its most vulnerable citizens is not primarily a gap in statute. It is a gap in institutional culture, enforcement will, and accountability.

What is the relationship between gender difference, its dysphorias, and the
growing threat of human extinction? The film 20.000 especies de abejas (20,000 Species of Bees) by the Spanish-Basque director Estibaliz Urresola Solaguren (2023) dwells into this overwhelming question by portraying the life of Aitor-Cocó-Lucía, an 8-year-old whose coming of age gravitates between 1) the politics of gender (of identity, convention, tradition, and the phallologocentrism of the subject) and 2) the desistance, distance, and infrapolitical inscription hat they (Cocó-Aitor-Lucía) are experiencing in their gender transition as they face the politics of binarism and subject identity. Through a filmic analysis of the child’s unease in an era of decontainment and turmoil, this article argues that their gender transition, in its secret and everyday unfolding, constitutes an existential decision. This existential decision to transform themselves through re-naming affirms the untamable diversity of the human condition: it presents the human as a species that is not above other species. Beneath all the above, however, there is an infrapolitical register signing at an ominous truth: that no identity, human inclusion, nor sheer multi-species affect can save the human from the mass extinction announced by the Anthropocene—and it is coming at us at full speed.

With an emphasis on the lack of civil society involvement and the structural, social, and cultural obstacles they encounter, this study investigates the lived realities of transgender populations living in Deras in Jammu, India. Through qualitative techniques such as focus groups and semistructured interviews, the study draws attention to the conflict between structural marginalization and community resilience. The findings suggest that traditional Dera networks, hierarchical communal households operating under a guru-chela (master-disciple) structure continue to provide essential social and economic support. However, transgender issues remain unaddressed due to insufficient civil society infrastructure, fragmented demographics, persistent stigma, and limited governmental interest. The study recommends a number of strategies to improve the visibility, inclusion, and empowerment of transgender persons in the area which include partnerships with Dera communities, gender sensitization, legislative protections, and the capacity-building of civil society organizations.

In 2017 a surprising development took place in an African nation with no lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT) rights or protections to speak of. In two separate cases, one involving a transgender man and the other a transgender woman, the Botswana High Court ruled in favour of the two litigants. The rulings allowed each to have their gender markers on their identity documents adjusted. This was a historical first on the African continent. This paper explores how this came to pass. Providing a close reading of the Botswana cases I contend that, perhaps surprisingly, the law though crucial, seems to function as simply the final decision-making tool at the judges' disposal. Drawing on interviews undertaken with both litigants and their legal teams alongside available media including op-eds’ by members of the litigation team, I provide a comparative analysis of the two cases. Theatre in a Polarised World More than three years ago, when we first thought about organising a conference for the German Society for Contemporary Theatre and Drama in English (CDE) and editing a special issue on the topic of "New Stages for Sex, Gender, and Sexuality in Contemporary Theatre," we knew that questions of sex, gender, and sexuality were at the heart of political debates, as the resurgence of right-wing extremism with its promotion of conservative family values and gender roles, attacks on reproductive, transgender, and LGBTQIA+ rights, and the amplification of so-called culture wars had shown, that is, the ideologically polarised conduct of political debates as questions of moral values, lifestyles, and worldviews. We already had a sense that the promises of a postfeminist equilibrium were to be disappointed and began to realise that Kim Solga's observation in Theatre & Feminism from 2015, that in a way "things have never been better" (5), had become a historical remark to which we looked back almost nostalgically. We did not anticipate, however, how blatant and dire the turn against feminism and LGBTQIA+ rights would become under the Trump administration in the US, and how aggressively populist right-wing extremist parties across the world, including the UK and Germany, would close ranks to attack democracy, diversity, and civil rights. In the current political climate marked by the rise of right-wing extremism, polarisation, and the logics of outragethat are fuelled by social media-, sex, gender, and sexuality have become "hot button topics": they stand in and are sometimes used as a cover for the fight over economic and political concerns, as they easily trigger emotional investment and mobilise populist denouncement. Judith Butler has analysed this development in their 2024 study Who's Afraid of Gender?, in which they make a strong case for defending gender diversity and de-escalating

This special edition of Psychoanalysis and History emerges from two queer encounters that took place at the Freud Museum London in early 2025: a tour focusing on Anna Freud and Dorothy Burlingham's shared life in the house that became the Freud Museum, and a symposium the next day that considered the representation of their relationship in the film Freud's Last Session. Against a backdrop of increasing global fascism, the contributions to this edition interrogate the erasure and ambiguity surrounding this historic relationship, situating questions about it within psychoanalysis’ complicity with and potential for resistance to normative forces around gender and sexuality. The contributors work with Kleinian, Lacanian, Laplanchean and psychosocial theory through a queer historiographic lens to explore how archival gaps, fantasies, cinematography and dyadic creativity can unsettle ossified narratives about psychoanalytic history and open space for alternative futures. By interrogating the binaries between repression and radicalism, concreteness and ambiguity, insiders and outsiders, the encounters set in motion by the contributions to this edition align with broader efforts to queer psychoanalysis, confront its colonial and normative legacies, and imagine a psychoanalysis that is responsive to contemporary struggles for gender, sexual, racial and disability justice. In doing so, it asks: what might psychoanalysis yet become in times of political regression?

In medieval Latin alchemy, “the work” (magisterium) in the laboratory paralleled the work of nature – yet while nature took over “a thousand years” in the mine, the artifex in the laboratory would only need “a month, or a shorter, or longer time.” The amount of time needed was dependent on the degree of heat of the fire. A higher degree of heat (calor ignis forti) would speed up the process, while baking the given preparation over a slow, gentle fire (suaviter) prolonged it. This paper argues that for medieval Latin alchemists, the accomplishment of the magisterium depended on finding the precise moment to take away the product from the fire, by regulating the intensity of fire and observing natural signs. While ancient alchemy saw success linked to an astrological “favourable moment” chosen for the beginning of the work, medieval Latin alchemy brings a more naturalistic focus on figuring out what I call the “Goldilocks moment”: the exact moment of ripeness at the end of the work, beyond which the action of fire would naturally become destructive. The paper examines this practical philosophy of fire and its relationship with time in material transformation in Petrus Bonus’ Pretiosa margarita novella.

This paper introduces the concept of White on World Crime as a framework for understanding how dominant racial discourse selectively magnifies localized interpersonal violence within marginalized communities while obscuring forms of structural, institutional, ecological, financial, and ideological violence disproportionately associated with white offenders and white-dominant systems of power. Drawing upon data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Bureau of Justice Statistics, the Department of Homeland Security, the National Institute of Justice, the World Health Organization, and peer-reviewed criminological research, this paper argues that several categories of violence and criminality in which white offenders are substantially represented frequently produce harms extending beyond individual victims to entire communities, democratic systems, economies, ecosystems, and global populations. While public discourse often racializes street violence as evidence of Black pathology, forms of violence associated with white supremacist extremism, white-collar crime, environmental destruction, financial predation, and mass casualty attacks frequently evade equivalent racial scrutiny despite producing broader and more enduring social harms. White on World Crime is proposed not as a biological or essentialist claim about white individuals, but as a theoretical framework for analyzing how racial power shapes the visibility, normalization, and scale of violence in modern societies.

In Islamic societies transsexuals live a life of constant negative stereotyping and presumption of guilt, despite being acknowledged by the Qur'ān and Sunnah. They struggle to live their lives in peace as they are subjected to discrimination, arrests, torture, and harassment on a daily basis. This article is aimed at exploring the factors which may mitigate their dilemmas by virtue of the primary sources of Shariah. In this study, verses from Qur'ān and ḥadīth which are used to condemn transsexuals are examined. Interpretations and opinions of several experts are also discussed in this paper. The findings reveal that transsexuality is considered to be an inherent defect and abnormality by the Will of Allah, which implies that transsexuals are not sinners and any surgical treatment to rectify physical defects is not a sinful act.

In this essay, the Material Collective calls for robust and sustained activism in medieval studies and academia. The authors argue for collectivity and solidarity as the models for fostering change, drawing inspiration from a variety of historical precedents, including most notably the Port Huron Statement, written by Students for a Democratic Society in 1962. The authors encourage organized collective action alongside the rejection of the nineteenth-century model of the lone scholar-genius as well as the competition culture and gatekeeping of contemporary academia. The essay concludes with a new Manifesto for a Modern Medieval Studies, a renewed statement of purpose and call to action that builds on the group's founding manifesto written in 2011. Ultimately, the authors encourage readers to build such cooperatives in their own academic communities and to find the others who are eager to do good work together. This article suggests expanding the ethical concerns in psychological research from a focus on the wellbeing and integrity of individuals to also include human living and becoming, and more-thanhuman worlding. Bringing in conceptualizations from new materialist thinking the concepts of care, compassion and empathy are discussed and directed towards concern, not only for individuals but also for the apparatuses of which we are, and even more comprehensive apparatuses in the era which Haraway has termed the Chthulucene. An example in terms of internet research on digital sexualized practices among young people serves the purpose of challenging these ideas. I argue that it is only by vitalizing all parts of the apparatus, including potentially destructive dimensions, and allowing all forces and phenomena access to transformative intra-agency that psychological researchers can enable ethically produced knowledge. In keeping research capacities to empathize and care away from particular parts of the apparatus(es) that produce given phenomena, such as abuse, bullying, harassment, and marginalization, researchers risk devitalizing and contributing to congeal those parts, and thereby also hampering or constraining a potential transformation of and from within intra-agencies involving those parts in the apparatus. Yoko Tawada, a bilingual author writing in German and Japanese, composes a multifaceted oeuvre encompassing plays, novels, short stories, essays, and lyrical texts. Her literature explores themes of transformation, nomadism, transgression, and water, crafting a dynamic interplay of alterity that deconstructs rigid ontologies. This study examines the hydrontological dimensions of Tawada's literature-defined as an analytical approach that traces water's role as a motif, medium, and agent of fluidity, porosity, and boundary dissolution. In texts such as Where Europe Begins, Poem for a Book, V-I-sages, The Bath and Eine leere Flasche [An empty bottle] water emerges as a pivotal motif, functioning as both a medium and an agent of transgression. This study investigates the hydrontological dimensions of Tawada's writing by tracing water's role in dissolving binaries-inside/ outside, beginning/end-through a methodology that combines close reading, diffractive reading, philological analysis, and both poststructuralist and posthuman approaches. This study argues that Tawada's work intertwines linguistic multiplicity with flows of semantic and semiotic processes, reconfiguring water not only as a motif but as a medium and performative agent that reshapes posthuman subjectivity in ways that challenge Western ontological frameworks.

This short forum piece engages trans studies scholarship that focuses on historical and current-day structures of surveillance to ask how we might conceptualize nineteenth-century histories of trans and gender-nonconforming experience. Building on scholarship that argues that the fundamental racialization of gender-and its surveillance and enforcement-produces forms of gendered and sexed marginalization that exceed contemporary, identity-based understandings of transgender, this piece turns to surveillance studies as one way of describing the broad, variegated, and not entirely trans history of trans experience in North America. In the summer of 2018 at the first Balkan Society for Theory and Practice workshop that took place in Prizren, Kosova, scholars, activists, and artists came together to engage in a very much needed debate about the past, present, and future of anti-capitalist politics, feminism, queer and trans* studies, critical race theory, postcolonial and decolonial critique in the context of the post-socialist Balkan countries and former Eastern Europe. Through the life and death of May Peleg, this article traces a trans-critical, antisovereign philosophy that exposes liberal legality’s structural complicity with authoritarian violence. Critiquing liberal paradigms of gender self-determination, it demonstrates how staterecognized identity cat-egories produce vulnerability readily activated by contemporary authoritarian regimes. Drawing on Walter Benjamin’s concept of historiographic rupture, Dina Georgis’s queer refusal, and Susan Stryker and Nikki Sullivan’s trans mayhem, the article moves beyond the search for stable recognition. It theorizes from the “unspeakable present” connecting May’s archival debris to the “anti-trans siege” and the catastrophe unfolding across historical Palestine. Tracing the fragmented remains of May’s thought and praxis, it advocates for a relational, antisovereign trans philosophy grounded in refusal, relationality and interdependence— offering a necessary rupture from the recursive trap of law’s false promises and the genocidal logics underpinning contemporary state (of) violence.

The book situates trans identity within cosmogenic, mythological, and historical narratives, while mapping four waves of activism from the 1980s to the present. Drawing on personal interviews, RTI investigations, and official records, it exposes systemic gaps in policy implementation following the NALSA judgment and the Transgender Persons Act 2019. Through two original analytical frameworks—“implementational disenfranchisement” and “corrigible inequities”—it critiques bureaucratic gatekeeping and proposes actionable reforms. The work is anchored in lived experience and offers a foundational timeline of trans recognition in India, with contributions from prominent trans activists like Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, Shreegauri Sawant, A. Revathi and others in the foreword and afterword.

The ‘trans debates’ have proliferated widely, and autism is frequently brought into these discussions. Autism researchers have begun to explore the perceived over-representation of autistic people within gender non-conforming populations. While discussions centred around autistic trans individuals are increasingly visible in ‘gender critical’ discourse — a discourse that is, at best, sceptical of transgender realities. This article consequently examines why being both autistic and trans has become a site of interest and/or scepticism. Engaging with some key medical literature produced at the intersection of autism and (trans)gender, its reproductions in mainstream media, and its use within gender critical discourse, this article argues that both scepticism and intrigue are actively produced through an uncritical adherence to the humanist logic of representationalism. Thus, rather than autism illuminating something about sex-gender, or autism ‘causing’ transgender identification, I argue these discussions highlight that representationalism is an epistemology that does not allow autistic people full recognition as (trans)gendered subjects. Karen Barad’s conception of ‘performative metaphysics’ and ‘the ontological inseparability of intra-acting agents’ is proposed as an alternate onto-epistemological framework through which to argue for an agential autistic (trans)gender identity that is not produced by autism, but co-constitutive with it.

This paper introduces Binary Trans Ascendancy, a concept in transgender and gender studies that names the intracommunity hierarchy through which binary, gender-conforming, and medically transitioned trans people are positioned as the most legitimate, authoritative, and representative subjects of trans experience. Within gender and queer studies, significant attention has been given to external systems of oppression, yet less analysis has been directed toward how legitimacy and authority are distributed within trans communities themselves. This paper argues that a persistent structural pattern shapes which trans identities are recognized, centered, and treated as authoritative, and that this pattern cannot be fully explained through existing frameworks such as transmedicalism alone. Grounded in Chaos Gender Order Theory, which defines gender as an interpretive system rather than an identity, the paper demonstrates that Binary Trans Ascendancy operates through norms of legibility that reward proximity to binary and normative gender presentation while marginalizing nonbinary and gender nonconforming people of trans experience. The analysis situates this hierarchy as a reproduction of cisheteropatriarchal logic within trans spaces and establishes the term as a necessary analytic category for understanding intracommunity power, representation, and erasure.

This article examines how Turkish news media mediate fatal violence against women, trans women, and those self-identified as travesti within intersecting regimes of patriarchy, authoritarianism, and necropolitics. Extending feminist and queer media scholarship, it argues that the Turkish case reveals a shift from spectacularized representation to epistemic erasure, in which silence itself becomes a necropolitical tool. Drawing on feminist visual framing and critical discourse analysis of nine femicide and transphobic hate crime cases (2021-2024), the study traces how Islamist, pro-government, and alternative outlets reproduce or resist these regimes. Queer-feminist journalism, by contrast, enacts a counter-hegemonic praxis of radical care and remembrance that re-inscribes life and grievability. The article contributes to existing research by conceptualizing "mediated grievability" and revealing how visibility, denial, and mourning shape media governance of life and death. Ultimately, it underscores the urgent need for trans and travesti inclusive feminist media practices that politicize loss and affirm marginalized lives.

Este livro apresenta narrativas produzidas por mulheres e pessoas trans não binárias, oriundas, em sua maioria, de Nilópolis, município da Baixada Fluminense/RJ. Construídas a partir de entrevistas realizadas com estudantes e egressas do curso de Bacharelado em Produção Cultural do IFRJ/Nilópolis, as falas versam sobre seu universo de representações sociais, evidenciando, em particular, visões e aspirações de mundo sobre temas como identidade e corporalidade, família e maternidade, escola e universidade, trabalho e atividades culturais. São histórias de vida impactantes de pessoas diversas em termos de identidade de gênero, orientação sexual, perfil étnico-racial e idade, e representam trajetórias distintas que se encontram em produções artísticas e culturais executadas por meio do edital da Lei Paulo Gustavo (Lei Complementar nº 195/2022) e realizadas em 2023 no município de Nilópolis.
As experiências e trajetórias das entrevistadas se apresentam como um marco de referência para o desenrolar das narrativas e observações sobre quem foram, quem se tornaram e quem podem vir a ser. Com base nas narrativas por elas construídas, as representações femininas são como olhos-d'água, ou seja, funcionam como ponto inicial das compreensões pessoais sobre corpo, estética, maternidade, vidas escolar e universitária. Neste contexto, as trajetórias individuais encontram outras teias de relações sociais, que desaguam em identidades individuais e coletivas e transbordam no trabalho, nas produções artísticas e em diferentes autoidentificações.
Esperamos que este livro abra espaços para que outras mulheres e pessoas que se identificam com o gênero feminino ou mesmo com a não-binariedade se sintam desafiadas a seguir os mais diversos caminhos - científicos, políticos, artísticos -, pois, afinal, seus lugares é onde desejam expressar livremente suas potências!
