ABSTRACT
Disciplines and academic performances are the core of our today’s education. Some scholars have attributed poor performance of students in academic to high level of indiscipline among students while others disagreed. Nevertheless, it becomes imperative in recent times that many schools have traded away discipline and as a result led to poor academic performance of students. This study was carried out to establish the relationships between schools discipline and students’ academic performance. The study employed cross sectional research survey design in which questionnaire was the main instrument of data collection. Simple percentage statistical method was used to analyze the data. However, the findings of the study clearly showed that effective school discipline should be encouraged in controlling students’ behavior thus affects students’ general academic performance.

The project concern itself on a comparative study of naming ceremony in Yoruba traditional society, Islamic and Judeo- Christian traditions. The Bible reveals that the custom of giving children names simply because they appeal to the parents is as ancient as its modern. The study further reveals that there is a strong and their names. In the Bible, for example, it is not surprising that the great prophet of salvation, Isaiah, should have a name which means 'Yahweh saves'. The general evidence of scripture points to the providence of God directing the course of life, and it sees the name as embodying a word of God which would henceforth mould its bearer into someone whose life embodies what the name declared. The study underscores the similarities of the naming rites in Yoruba society and Judeo Christian traditions. The study concludes by stressing that many Yoruba belief that name are meaningful and powerful

We extend the application of nearly contraction mapping principle introduced by Sahu (2005) for existence of fixed points of demicontinuous mappings to certain hemicontinuous nearly Lipschitzian nonlinear mappings in Banach spaces. We have applied certain results due to Sahu (2005) to obtain conditions for existence—and to introduce an asymptotic iterative process for construction—of fixed points of these hemicontractions with respect to a new auxiliary operator.

Entrepreneurship has been variously referred to as a “source of employment generation. The aim of this study was to examine youth entrepreneurship, poverty alleviation and employment generation in Nigeria using Ifo local government and Ewekoro local government in Ogun State as a case study. The study adopted the descriptive research design to provide answers to the research questions formulated. A simple random sampling and stratified random sampling technique was employed to select and sample the opinion of one hundred ninety six (196) respondents. Data obtained from the field survey was later analyzed using SPSS 20.0 statistical package for social sciences. The study revealed that youth entrepreneurship has contributed to Nigeria’s economic development and employment generation in recent times. The second research question revealed that youth entrepreneurship has little impact on poverty alleviation in Nigeria. In essence youth entrepreneurship scheme has been contributing little percentage to solving the problem of poverty in the country. Based on the findings in the study, it was recommended that private sector should be proactively involved in the design and implementation, and private sector involvement should extend to funding and that the training programme should be extended to include technical skills, managerial skills and business skills

We obtain a certain property of F-contractions, which enables us to generalize and extend Wardowski's (Fixed Point Theory and Applications 2012:94, 2012) result and other fixed point theorems to the class of nonexpansive operators in real Banach spaces. However applying Osilike-Akuchu[10] theorem and recent results (in Hilbert space) of Igbokwe and Udoutun[8] we formulate conditions for finding approximate cycles of the second kind (in the Hilbert space W 2,2 0 [0, ∞)) to this problem given in the form x ′′′ + ax ′′ + g(x ′) + φ(x) = 0.

Very recently, Udo-utun (Fixed Point Theory Appl. 2014:65, 2014) established a property possessed by contractive operators with nonempty fixed point sets and used it to prove the existence of fixed points of nonexpansive maps. We extend these results and prove the existence of fixed points for L-Lipschitzian maps that possess this property. Our results generalize and unify results concerning asymptotic fixed point theory of contractive mappings. An application in ordinary differential equations is illustrated via a formulation of the global existence theorem for initial value problems.

We introduce the notion of multivalued almost w−contractions and obtain extension of fixed point results for weak Ciric-contractive operators and multivalued almost contractions (multivalued (δ ; L)−weak contractions). We have also shown that the class of weak Ciric-contractive operators are included in the class of multivalued almost w−contractions introduced here.

In this paper, the concepts of α–demicontractive semigroup and α–hemicontractive semigroup are considered. We study the strong and weak convergence of an implicit iterative scheme to the common fixed points of Lipschitzian α–hemicontractive semigroup. Fins are commonly utilized to enhance (dissipate) heat in various engineering systems that include heat exchangers. In the present investigation, the impact of multi-boiling and thermo-geometric factors on a convective-radiative rectangular porous fin subjected to the temperature-dependent thermal conductivity of linear and non-linear variations is discussed extensively. The governing equations describing the problem were formulated with the aid of Darcy law. Similarity variables were employed to reduce the models to non-dimensional form. The solution of the governing dimensionless equation is approximated using the RK4 and spectral local linearization methods. Before parametric analysis, the agreement between the two numerical methods was established. Findings reveal that the non-linear variation of thermal conductivity shows better thermal efficiency than the linear variation. An improvement in the multi-boiling heat transfer parameter retards the temperature distribution of the fin. Furthermore, increasing the thermo-geometric parameter will result in a progressive decrease in the temperature of the fin. The results obtained in this work will aid in the design of heat exchangers and other heat transfer equipments.

This study is conducted on the role of motivation on the academic performance of students in physics. Focus on the Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State as a case study. The major objectives of this study were to determine the role of motivation on the academic performance of students in physics.
Also, the knowledge skills acquired by the students of physics in secondary schools. To achieve this objectives survey method was used, five research questions were raised, and the total of 100 questionnaires made up of 100 students were administered. In analyzing the data Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) used and responses analyzed with the aid of table and pie-chart. Based on the findings it was resolved that students neglect the course of “Motivation”. However, there is need for proper orientation, workshops, seminars and awareness to the students in physics to avoid them not to neglect the course (Motivation). It also reveals that students acquired the knowledge of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in physics. It was therefore, recommended that proper awareness on intrinsic and extrinsic motivation should be created.
The study was concluded that the role of motivation on the academic performance of students in physics plays a vital role in sustaining physics learning in the classroom.
Suggestion for further research studies were made on the related topics to the present patterns.

Girl–Child education has been a subject of serious concern in Africa. This is because this aspect of education has been bedeviled with problems especially in the Nigeria. Scholars have expressed concern about it and about the various forms of discriminations and sharp practices against the girl-child right in our society. Thus, this study assesses the United Nations declaration on Girl-child right and its implication on African culture. The study adopted survey method as qualitative and quantitative research design. The sample consisted of 100 respondents randomly selected from the thirteen wards that constituted Ondo West Local Government Areas. Three research questions were raised and analyzed using statistical methods i.e. frequency distribution tables, simple percentages and cumulative frequency. The results revealed that socio- economic factors, socio-cultural affect participation of girl child in secondary education. The research work also showed that government policies and programmes have assisted in addressing the menace militating against Girl-child education and finally the research drawn conclusion that there exists a significant improvement in Girl-child right. Based on these findings, it was recommended that girls should be given equal chance as boys in education; there should be a legal support for girl-child education and government, immediate community members, parent cum religion leaders should play their respective roles in encouraging Girl-child education in Nigeria.
