Welcoming Ahmed Al-Dadah to Bilfinger. We are pleased to welcome Ahmed Al-Dadah as Segment President International. In this role, Ahmed reports to Group CEO Thomas Schulz and joins the Group Executive Management Team. With 25 years of international experience in the energy and industrial sectors, Ahmed now leads our operations across the United States, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Türkiye. His role is pivotal in driving sustainable profitable growth across Bilfinger’s Segment International, in line with Bilfinger's vision to be No. 1 for customers in enhancing efficiency and sustainability. As Ahmed steps into the role, his priority is clear:  "I very much look forward to meeting Team Bilfinger and our customers to initially understand key success factors and to build on our trusted partnerships together. My commitment is to harness the best of the global Bilfinger organization to move Operational Excellence and Market Expansion forward.” We would also like to thank Christian Rugland for his outstanding leadership as Interim President of Segment International. We are proud to celebrate a major milestone in Bahrain: 30 years of engineering operations in the Kingdom plus the inauguration of a brand-new office at MFC Central, Riffa, located close to our valued industrial customers. From 5 employees and 2 clients in 1997 to nearly 100 professionals, 750+ projects, and 12 million safe manhours — the journey of our engineering office lies in the trust of our clients and the dedication and collaborative spirit of our team in Bahrain. Thank you to the entire Bahrain team, our leadership, and our valued partners for celebrating this moment and for the enduring partnerships that made it possible. The new offices lay the foundation for our growth ambitions and our commitment to building an even stronger future together.

Teams from our Bahrain offices added messages to a signing board to honor His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, expressing gratitude for his visionary leadership and commitment to the well-being of citizens and residents. Colleagues highlighted his role in fostering stability, inclusivity, and sustainable growth, qualities that helped shape Bahrain into a place of opportunity and harmony. Colleagues in Bahrain also honored the Kingdom's strong values of hospitality, compassion, and collaboration, wishing continued progress and greater achievements.

Bilfinger secured a major contract in Türkiye, awarded by Gübretaş Maden Yatırımları A.Ş. for the second expansion phase of the Söğüt gold mine in Bilecik. Executed by Bilfinger’s recently acquired Teknokon Endüstri, a team of up to 650 people will deliver the full expansion scope for new processing facilities covering mechanical installations, electrical, instrumentation & control services (EI&C), and insulation work. The new facilities, expected to be operational in around 24 months, will significantly increase the site’s production capacity. The contract marks a major milestone on Bilfinger’s strategic expansion journey in Segment International, which bridges Eastern Europe and Middle East. Our Consulting & Engineering and Asset Performance teams were at the Oman Petroleum & Energy Show this week, connecting with visitors, introducing them to our products and brand, and exploring collaboration and opportunities across the Oman market. Marco van der Linden, President of Business Unit Consulting & Engineering, also took to the stage for an OPES Talks session on low-carbon operations in upstream and downstream in O&G, sharing perspectives on where the industry is headed. To celebrate the achievement of 1 million LTI-free manhours on the KIMA-ASWAN chemical manufacturing contract in Egypt, Bilfinger PMC Management from the Middle East visited the Aswan site to accept a joint award for the Anna project's safety milestone. Construction teams, engineers, safety staff and management representatives gathered to mark this achievement. The new plant, designed to be a highly efficient, state‑of‑the‑art production unit, is being built in-between facilities of the original plant which is still running from 1956! Part of the visit also included the on‑site Training Centre for skills assessment, development and safety instruction. Overall, the visit was very motivating and memorable for all the participating teams and reflected the strong safety culture, teamwork, and dedication being maintained at the project site. Marco van der Linden, President of Business Unit Consulting & Engineering, will participate in #OPES Talks at the Oman Petroleum & Energy Show on May 18. He’ll take part of an interactive panel discussion on topics centered around low‑carbon operations such as emission‑reduction strategies or the role of digitalization and automation, alongside industry peers. Join us Monday 18th to gain interesting insights and engage in the discussion.

We were pleased to welcome Bilfinger Group CEO Thomas Schulz to the Middle East for a town hall with our regional teams. His in-person visit was a strong demonstration of leadership and his support was genuinely appreciated. The session delivered clear direction and reinforced positive outlook, team motivation and alignment with our Market Expansion strategy, sharpening customer focus, and further positioning Bilfinger as the partner of choice.

In line with our continued commitment to provide a strong safety culture, we marked World Safety Day on 28 April through a series of safety awareness activities across our offices, project sites, and operations. Our teams participated in both office-based sessions and on-site engagements, designed to reinforce key safety messages, promote a healthy psychosocial work environment, and remind everyone that safety is a shared responsibility, whether in the office or on site. Across the UAE and Kuwait, our Asset Performance teams, together with client representatives, took part in sessions emphasizing safety leadership, hazard awareness, speaking up, and fostering a proactive safety culture. At several engineering supervision project sites, contractors and consultants also actively contributed by raising awareness among site personnel on critical risks such as hand safety and lifting operations.
