We're pleased to announce that AirTrunk is joining the Long Duration Energy Storage Council (LDES Council) as an anchor member. As data centres become an increasingly important part of our digital future, energy innovation will play a key role in powering them sustainably. Through our #CommitmentsToCommunities, we're committed to being responsible users of energy and water while helping accelerate the transition to a cleaner, more resilient energy system. This commitment is already taking shape. Earlier this year, we partnered with two leading energy infrastructure companies to develop a large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) alongside our planned SYD3 data centre campus in Western Sydney, helping strengthen energy resilience while supporting the integration of more renewable energy into the grid. "By joining the LDES Council, AirTrunk is proud to collaborate with our peers, governments and energy stakeholders in advancing long duration energy storage solutions that will accelerate the transition to a carbon-free future," said José Castañeda, VP Innovation and Intelligence at AirTrunk. We know there's a lot of work ahead, and we're looking forward to working alongside fellow LDES Council members to advance the deployment of long duration energy storage solutions and unlock new opportunities to support reliable, sustainable energy for the communities where we operate. Learn more about our role at the LDES Council, a global community of members across 20 countries working to accelerate long duration energy storage: https://lnkd.in/e834yGD4 #AirTrunk #DataCentre #DigitalInfrastructure #CommitmentsToCommunities

As the digital economy grows, so does the need for reliable, resilient and sustainable energy. Data centres are essential infrastructure, but building for the future means thinking beyond simply consuming electricity. It means investing in solutions that help strengthen the energy system for everyone. Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are an important part of that future. By storing energy when it's available and releasing it when demand is highest, batteries can help improve grid resilience, support the integration of renewable energy and make our electricity system more flexible. That's why we're planning a large-scale Battery Energy Storage System at our SYD3 campus in Western Sydney, with more opportunities to come. This work reflects our #CommitmentsToCommunities, particularly our commitment to be responsible users of energy and water. By continuing to invest in innovative energy solutions, we're helping enable the digital future while supporting the transition to a cleaner, more resilient energy system. https://lnkd.in/gxk9rjsT #AirTrunk #DataCentre #DigitalInfrastructure #CommitmentsToCommunities

Australia's energy system is undergoing one of its biggest transformations, while continuing to power a growing economy and our increasingly digital lives. As demand for cloud, AI and digital services continues to rise, so does the need to invest in the infrastructure that supports them. That's why at AirTrunk, we believe growth should strengthen shared infrastructure, not place greater pressure on it. Through our #CommitmentsToCommunities, we're committed to being responsible users of power and water by investing in the energy and water infrastructure our growth requires, helping accelerate the transition to renewable energy, and supporting a smarter, more flexible grid through innovation and battery storage. There’s always more work to do, and building a more resilient, sustainable energy future isn't something any one organisation can do alone. It requires collaboration across governments, utilities, developers, customers and industry. Together, we can help ensure Australia's digital and energy infrastructure grows stronger for everyone: https://lnkd.in/gDks6ZhX #AirTrunk #DataCentre #DigitalInfrastructure #CommitmentsToCommunities

Renewable energy doesn't just depend on sunshine and wind. It also depends on long-term commitment. Behind every new solar or wind farm is a customer willing to commit to purchasing clean energy over the long term, helping give developers the confidence to invest in new renewable projects. As a long-term user of electricity, we're committed to playing our part in accelerating Australia's renewable energy transition. Today, we're matching 86% of our Australian operations with renewable energy, and we're working towards 100% renewable energy matching by 2030. This is part of our #CommitmentsToCommunities - being responsible users of power and water while supporting the infrastructure needed for a more sustainable digital future. Swipe through to see how long-term energy commitments help unlock new renewable projects and why collaboration across industry, government and energy providers matters. https://lnkd.in/gDks6ZhX #AirTrunk #DataCentre #DigitalInfrastructure #CommitmentsToCommunities
