A name is often one of the first things we learn about someone, yet it’s also something that can be overlooked or mispronounced. Say My Name is a campaign that encourages greater awareness and inclusion through curiosity, active listening and respectful conversations. Sometimes that starts with a simple questions: “How do I pronounce your name? or “What does it mean?” While phonetic spellings can be a helpful guide, not every name can be fully represented through English sounds alone. Every name has its own story, cultural context and personal significance. Taking the time to understand and use someone’s name correctly is a small gesture that can help people feel recognised and valued. Take a moment to listen and learn from our colleagues 👇

How do organisations stay resilient when the pace of change keeps accelerating? That question sits at the heart of this year's Corporate Risk Radar from Clyde & Co. Resilience starts with accepting uncertainty as the new normal. From there, organisations can focus on becoming more agile, reducing critical dependencies and strengthening their ability to adapt. Our report highlights the growing demands being placed on leadership teams, with economic, operational and technological risks all competing for attention. At the same time, many organisations are preparing for greater investor scrutiny and changing stakeholder expectations. I was pleased to contribute to this year's report and the discussion around how businesses can remain agile, resilient and ready for what's next. If you'd like to explore the findings, you can read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/eXrzadNg

Hello, my name is Dr. Isabelle Kilian and I'm a partner in our Dusseldorf office. I joined the firm as an associate in 2016 when Clyde & Co opened their first office in Germany. My practice is coverage and monitoring advice to financial lines insurers, particularly D&O, E&O and fraud. I also advise on liability claims, with a focus on product liability and recall and I represent insurers in coverage disputes as well as defend insureds in liability claims on behalf of insurers. Another core part of my practice is advising and representing insurers in accident & health claims, in particular sports disability policies. I enjoy the great variety in my daily schedule and that it allows me to work with different clients and colleagues in Germany and abroad. Above all, I am particularly drawn to complex coverage issues and insurance litigation that require to develop creative and well-reasoned argumentation for our clients. What I value most about working at Clyde & Co is the opportunity to live collaboration and teamwork on a daily basis. Everyone at the firm is genuinely invested in delivering the highest standard in client advice as well as each other’s personal development and growths. As one of the firm’s EU Inclusion Champions, I enjoy contributing to DEI initiatives and serving as a role model for younger female colleagues. I'm especially proud to have contributed to the growth and success of the firm in Germany and beyond for the last decade. When I'm not working, I enjoy reading, sports (particularly running), travelling (especially to France) and spending time with my family.

Recent developments in and around the Strait of Hormuz have renewed attention on the resilience of regional trade and energy infrastructure 🌍 According to Lloyd's List, Gulf states are continuing to invest in pipelines, ports and rail networks that provide additional export and transport options alongside established maritime routes. These developments have the potential to influence trade patterns, logistics networks and energy supply chains across the region over the long term. Brendan Molck, Partner in Riyadh, says: “We are seeing a shift from short-term contingency planning towards long-term infrastructure investment strategies. Rather than expecting a linear recovery in shipping capacity, many market participants are planning for continuing periods of disruption and are investing accordingly.” As these investments progress, they have the potential to influence trade flows, logistics strategies and infrastructure priorities across the region for years to come. What makes a marine joint venture commercially successful? Before acquiring a vessel, securing finance or commencing operations, JV partners should address one fundamental question: What is each party bringing to the venture, and what do they expect to receive in return? Establishing clear economic expectations from the outset can help minimise disputes, manage funding pressures and align interests throughout the life of the venture. Richard Elks and Marie-Anne Moussalli explore the economic factors that should be addressed when structuring a maritime joint venture ⬇️

For years, conversations about major transport projects have centred on rising costs, complexity and lengthy delivery timelines. This proposed UK project takes a different perspective, looking at whether proven Scandinavian tunnelling techniques could offer a more efficient way forward. The proposal would create a direct transport link between Manchester and Sheffield through a 14-mile tunnel beneath the Peak District, drawing on drill-and-blast methods that have been used successfully across Norway and other parts of Scandinavia for decades. If successful, projects like this could help improve connectivity, unlock economic growth and influence how we think about delivering major infrastructure in the future. I'm delighted that Clyde & Co has been appointed to advise on this transformative project and look forward to seeing how it develops. Congratulations to Graeme McLellan, Victoria Peckett and the wider Clyde & Co team involved. https://lnkd.in/gzpvmxsm
