TAILORED ACCOUNTS - 18 YEARS ON Tailored Accounts has officially turned 18. This month, we’re taking a moment to look back on the journey so far — one shaped by challenges, persistence, and defining milestones. This journey did not begin in a polished office. It began with the determination of a small player finding its place in a vast ocean. In 2005, a 22-year-old Vietnamese student made the decision to step outside his comfort zone and move to Australia to study. Not because everything was ready, but because he wanted to see how far he could go. Our CEO, Harry, was then an economics student at the Australian National University, navigating financial constraints and language barriers. During those early years, he worked and studied at the same time, improving each skill step by step. From working on farms to support himself, to practising English every day, he kept pushing forward until his first opportunity came. Starting with his initial accounting role, he began to notice a significant gap in the market: many small businesses did not have the resources to build their own internal accounting teams, yet they still needed reliable and professional support. Tailored Accounts was founded from that realisation, built on personal savings and a simple belief: if you do the work well enough, people will need it. Eighteen years on, that journey continues, stronger, more purposeful, and more vibrant than ever. Griffin Accelerator is Canberra first and unique accelerator program where startup like Syenta (used to be called Spark3D) pitched their business to first ever group of investors and mentors in 2021. Out of hundreds of application, Syenta was one of the few startups that have been selected to participate in our 3 month heavy but valuable accelerator program where they were paired with great mentors and othet entrepreneurs to refine their business model, team, Board and governance…but most importantly the early cash injection from our GA was significant for startups like Syenta to know that they are on the right path to success.
