Today we announce an important leadership evolution at Unifiber.  Following the recent announcement of Proximus Group becoming the sole shareholder of Unifiber, it has been jointly agreed that Nico Weymaere, CEO of Unifiber will step down from his role effective today. Since the founding of Unifiber in 2021, Nico has played a pivotal role in building a robust deployment engine from the ground up, shaping a high-performing team, and successfully guiding the organization through key growth phases and various challenges. In addition, in mutual agreement, Krista van Roode (COO) will gradually start handing over her expertise and responsibilities, ahead of leaving the company at the end of October. We warmly thank Nico and Krista for their dedication and the significant impact they have made for Unifiber.  We are pleased to welcome Gaetan Dewingaerden who has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Unifiber, effective June 15. In his current role as Managing Director of Fiberklaar, Gaetan Dewingaerden has gained extensive expertise, making him well positioned to further strengthen Unifiber’s performance and growth. On top of his current role, he will ensure continuity and support the next phase of Unifiber’s development, as well as ensuring strong alignment across Proximus Group’ fiber deployment entities.  Unifiber and parent company Proximus Group remain committed to advancing the roll-out of fiber in Wallonia and Belgium and driving further progress in digital inclusion. Unifiber continues to operate as an autonomous entity within the Proximus Group.

FTTH (Fiber To The Home): what does it really mean? ⬇️ In today’s market, not all “fibre” connections deliver the same level of performance. 👉 FTTH refers to a 100% fibre optic connection, deployed end-to-end directly to the home or business. This makes a fundamental difference: ✔️ No performance loss over the final connection segment; ✔️ Maximum available speeds; ✔️ A highly stable and reliable connection.
