It's bringing together the people who make the Pure Local story possible. Farmers, brewers and maltsters gathered once again to reconnect, share ideas and celebrate another season of working together. A sincere thank you to everyone who joined us. It's this community, built on trust and collaboration, that keeps moving Pure Local forward. Here are a few snapshots from a fantastic day. Gauthier Boels shared thisWe can all continue to learn from expert, facilitating our journey to make Regenerative Agriculture the new normalGauthier Boels shared this🇪🇸 Our Spanish teams visited Buenavista Farm in Valladolid with the Asociación de Agricultura Regenerativa, hosted by Félix del Villar. In total, the Asociación de Agricultura Regenerativa has trained more than 25,000 people in regenerative agriculture since 2010. This initiative aligns with Boortmalt's ambition to support Spanish farmers in their transition towards regenerative practices. During the visit, we discussed current challenges and the long‑term commitment of farmers working to protect soil health. To support clarity and avoid greenwashing, CREAF - Centre de Recerca en Ecologia i Aplicacions Forestals and the Asociación de Agricultura Regenerativa have defined 10 guiding principles, including water care, biodiversity, no‑tillage, crop rotation, reduced chemical inputs (excluding GMOs and gene‑edited crops), and stronger territorial links. In total, over 130 farms are following these criteria across Spain. Thank you again to our hosts for this visit!

Gauthier Boels shared thisHighlighting the commitment of Boortmalt to Regenerative Agriculture. To now make it happen at scale, we focus on building profitability at farm level with clear technical support and long-term risk management for growers, and a viable business case for the whole value chain.Gauthier Boels shared thisDid you know #barley, the backbone of the world’s most consumed beverages, is grown across around 60 million hectares worldwide? ''Addressing agricultural emissions isn't just a climate imperative, it's a resilience imperative. The barley supply chain faces growing weather volatility, drought and shifting conditions. The shift away from conventional practices is the only credible response''. – Lynette Chung, CSO of Boortmalt With land-use on the agenda at #LCAW, Boortmalt’s strategies to advance #RegenerativeAgriculture offer a real-world look at what it takes to transform a global supply chain. But how does this work in practice? Sourcing barley across five continents, Boortmalt proves there is no single blueprint. Across Ireland, France and Argentina, Boortmalt runs three distinct models - a whole-farm transition programme, a cooperative-scale partnership, and a low-carbon fertiliser initiative – shaped by local conditions. Last season, together they delivered 90,000–95,000 tonnes of regeneratively grown barley. Central to Boortmalt’s philosophy is that regenerative agriculture must economically benefit farmers, not just the environment: Regenerative agriculture holds many long-term virtues for the planet. Yet it will only be adopted at scale if it also improves growers’ economics. In today’s environment, asking consumers to bear additional costs is unrealistic. Success depends on proving that regenerative systems ultimately lower production costs on farms. This is what we are trying to support.''– Yvan Schaepman, CEO of Boortmalt Success also depends on collective action, which is why Boortmalt is part of OP2B, contributing field-level experience and drawing on insights from companies navigating similar transitions across crops and geographies. Gauthier Boels reposted thisGauthier Boels reposted thisIn case you missed it: what the media showcased about early results from our Resilience Analytics initiative. Read our press release: https://hubs.la/Q04lxHWP0 Our analysis found that 𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐲𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 during France's drought of 2023 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬, findings covered by major European media outlets and industry publications (see articles in the comments 📰). But the bigger story goes beyond just drought resilience. These findings show how high-quality operational farm data, such as that we have been collecting for years through our programme, can generate decision-useful resilience metrics for supply chains and agricultural finance. As climate risks intensify, businesses, lenders, insurers and investors are increasingly seeking this kind of primary field-level evidence to embed regenerative agriculture more deeply into their risk management. The missing link between regenerative agriculture and commercial risk management is starting to emerge. The question is no longer whether resilience has value. It's how data such as ours can evidence it and enable a new era of commercial decisions in response.

Gauthier Boels shared thisCollaboration across the Value Chain is critical to support farmers and create a viable economic model for Regenerative Agriculture. We engage with partners to make this model striveGauthier Boels shared this🌾 Cheers to farmers: hearing directly from those who make it happen. Earlier this week in Auvernaux, France, we had the opportunity to step into the fields with AB InBev and AXEREAL and most importantly, to listen to farmers. They shared their practices, their progress… but also the challenges of transitioning to regenerative agriculture. From adapting techniques to managing risks and uncertainty, these conversations were a powerful reminder: change is happening, but it needs time, support and trust. At Boortmalt, we believe these field exchanges are essential. They ground our work in reality and reinforce what truly matters: building solutions that work for farmers, not just on paper. We are proud to work alongside AXEREAL and AB InBev to support this transition by connecting the entire value chain and helping turn regenerative practices into the new norm. Thank you to the farmers for their openness and to AB InBev for creating the space to have these important conversations. This is how we move forward together.

Working with over 20,500 farmers globally, we’re committed to strengthening local agriculture, protecting natural resources, and supporting farming communities while producing high-quality beer. From walking the fields with Boortmalt to a grain-to-glass zythology lunch, the day brought to life the partnerships shaping the future of farming and brewing. A big thank you to Councillor Donna Higgins, Mayor of Bury St Edmunds, our partners Boortmalt and CroBio, and the farmers who shared their expertise. #AFutureWithMoreCheers

Europe wants to electrify everything. But electrification doesn’t run on targets — it runs on materials. Electricity demand will double by 2050. Grids, EVs and electrified industry all rely on epoxy resins built into transformers, substations, power electronics and batteries. As a member of Epoxy Europe, Huntsman sees this up close: epoxies are essential for safety, reliability and system performance. Yet while EU policy accelerates electrification, regulatory decisions risk constraining access to the very materials the transition depends on, often without recognising their critical-use role. You can’t build an electrified Europe while undermining its foundations. Electrification is a system. Ignore the materials, and the system breaks. #Electrification #EnergyTransition #EUCompetitiveness #Grids #ChemicalsMatter #EpoxyEurope #REACH #IndustrialPolicy
