  • The Importance of Power Quality in Solar Systems Camille Bauer highlights the importance of power quality evaluation in solar installations, an essential step for ensuring performance, safety and compliance. Analyzing harmonics, voltage variations and other indicators before and after installation helps identify existing issues in the grid and understand how the photovoltaic system will interact with the electrical environment, preventing failures and protecting equipment. A recent study in Xalapa, Mexico demonstrated in practice how these analyses make a difference. Tests revealed both a performance defect in one of the strings and harmonic levels far above recommended limits, capable of causing overheating and shutdowns. For this reason, Camille Bauer emphasizes that regular, well documented PQ evaluations are crucial for ensuring reliability, efficiency and long term durability in solar systems.
