Meet the Youth Apprenticeship Council This month we are introducing Joellah Fletcher, a General Carpenter Apprentice from Ontario and member of the inaugural Youth Apprenticeship Council.   🎤 “Young tradespeople should have a meaningful role in shaping apprenticeship systems, starting at the policy level.”   Based in Shakespeare, Ontario, Joellah is a carpenter apprentice and Assistant Site Supervisor with hands-on experience in both rough and finish carpentry.   Beyond the jobsite, she is a strong advocate for inclusion and support in the skilled trades. As the Community & Strategic Partnerships Lead for Women On Site (WOS) and a WOS meetup host, she creates space for tradeswomen and underrepresented groups to connect, share experiences, and navigate their careers.   Through her work and lived experience, Joellah brings forward important perspectives on workplace culture, access to apprenticeship opportunities, and the need for stronger support systems across the trades.   Through the Youth Apprenticeship Council, she is committed to helping shape a more inclusive, supportive, and responsive apprenticeship system for the next generation. #YouthInTrades #Apprenticeship #SkilledTrades #FutureWorkforce #YouthLeadership #WorkforceDevelopment #CanadianApprenticeshipForum #SkilledTradesCanada

One of the best investments an organization can make is taking time to invest in its leadership team. Over the past two days, our Canadian Apprenticeship Forum (CAF-FCA) management team stepped away from our inboxes and meetings to focus on how we lead together as we prepare for the organization’s next chapter of growth. We explored trust, accountability, communication, collaboration, decision-making, and the commitments we want to make to one another. Some conversations were challenging. Many were inspiring. All were worthwhile. Leadership is not something you perfect. It is something you continually work at. Grateful to be part of a team that is willing to have honest conversations, challenge one another respectfully, and keep learning together.
