Edmonton’s newest recreation centre and park continues to take shape! 🎉 Here’s a summer 2026 update 🌼 The recreation centre is now mostly enclosed, allowing passersby the opportunity to see the facility’s unique exterior design. It's just past the halfway point at KDays, and it is not too late to stop by the ETS exhibit in Hall B of the Expo Centre. Thanks to feedback from staff and guests, my team worked on incorporating new elements, including displaying a DATS bus to help raise the profile of public transit, profiles of the transit garage namesake, such as Kathleen Andrews, Thomas Ferrier, DL MacDonald and Gerry Wright, and the shell of a U2 cab prepared by the LRT team. In addition to these elements, two heritage buses are on display, as well as artifacts from the Edmonton Radial Railway Society and ETS' newest Indigenous art bus. Special shoutout to Gian Carlo Estoesta, Alanna Niehaus and Jim Robson, RSE, PMP for helping to bring many of the new elements to life. And a big thanks the rest of the ETS team for spending a few hours every day staffing the exhibit and pulling the various elements together, as well as Explore Edmonton Corporation for having ETS back at KDays.
