Due to a sewage line break near the corner of Sir Winston Churchill Avenue and Sturgeon Road, a portion of the Red Willow Trail system is temporarily closed along the Kingswood Park Day Loop. The closure will enable crews from Arrow Utilities to do their work. The trail is closed from near the Botanic Park through to the pathways leading to Kingswood Day Park entrance. The City will provide more updates as the repairs progress.

City Releases 2026-2029 Council Strategic Plan and Corporate Business Plan The St. Albert Council Strategic Plan identifies what Council will focus on during its term. The Plan was informed by the City’s existing Community Vision, including the Pillars of Sustainability, and outlines three key areas of focus and associated strategic priorities. Council’s Strategic Plan provides direction for the City’s efforts, above delivery of Council-approved services, to ensure we take care of our community now as we plan and invest in a sustainable future for everybody. The Corporate Business Plan ensures that Administration’s work progresses on the initiatives required to advance Council’s priorities. Since 2014, the City of St. Albert has contributed local geographic data to the Esri Canada Community Map of Canada, helping support maps used by residents, emergency services and businesses right in your own backyard and beyond! We’ve provided data on everything from parks and pathways to streets and sidewalks.
This video features Dana McKee, GIS Consultant with the Community Map of Canada team. She highlights the City of St. Albert, a key contributor to the Community Map of Canada program. The city provides current and accurate data, including a new tree dataset, which has helped improve the basemap. St. Albert recently collaborated on a Truth and Reconciliation initiative, renaming Grandin to Gardens and ensuring the change was quickly reflected. The city also uses the Community Map of Canada basemap in various web applications, supporting local projects and community engagement.
