Homo Faber hosted its third edition of Artisan Networking Day in London   We were delighted to welcome around 60 artisans to the City & Guilds of London Art School on Thursday, 14 May for a day of connection, exchange and inspiration.   The gathering welcomed artisans featured on the Homo Faber Guide, with some participants also sharing valuable experiences from our other programs, including the Homo Faber Fellowship and the Biennial.    The day included workshops, discussions and presentations providing valuable practical advice, as well as a tour of the school.   The gathering included artisans from Homo Faber Guide, several of whom also shared their experiences from other programmes, including Homo Faber Fellowship and the Biennial.   The day featured workshops, discussions and presentations providing valuable practical advice, as well as a tour of the school. Homo Faber Fellowship is heading to Copenhagen Fresh from its showing at Milan Design Week, the Homo Faber Fellowship exhibition Today’s Masters Meet Tomorrow’s Talents is making its way to 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen. The exhibition will showcase objects co-created over six months by 22 duos of master artisans and emerging talents. These collaborations will explore materials, craftsmanship, and light, reinterpreting traditional skills through contemporary perspectives and shared inspiration. Homo Faber Conversations: inspiring change through the language of craft   For the next instalment in our curated programme of monthly talks, we welcome Simone Farresin, the co-founder (alongside Andrea Trimarchi) of research-based design studio Formafantasma for a fireside chat with Nora Gherbi on The Art Of Exhibition Design Making.   In the world of high-end interiors, the most compelling spaces are not merely beautiful, they are deeply felt. Formafantasma brings a singular perspective to this conversation, examining the influence of ecological, historical, political and social factors on the discipline of design, and how considered material choices imbue interior spaces with depth and emotion. Crafting connections and cultural bonds XTANT is a platform dedicated to preserving and connecting with textile heritage through exhibitions, exchanges and workshops. Its founder, Kavita Parmar, recently took part in Homo Faber Conversations at the at the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain in Paris, speaking on The Collective Power of Craft. These connections and bonds between artisans and cultural organisations are essential – creating space and opportunity for ideas and the continued transmission of know-how and skill. As part of this exchange, Marie DE DECKER, whose work will be presented at Homo Faber 2026: An Island of Light this September in Venice, has been selected to take part in the XTANT 2026, whose theme is NOMAD, and celebrates the sharing of knowledge and skill between artisans from around the world. The Collective Power of Craft For its first Homo Faber Conversations public session, Kavita Parmar gives her perspective on the transformative potential of collaborative craft and discusses how community-based initiatives are fostering connection, empowering individuals and creating positive change in the world. Homo Faber Conversations: inspiring change through the language of craft   The Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain and the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship are delighted to present Homo Faber Conversations, a programme of monthly thematic events featuring invited international creators and cultural figures in conversation about craft, design and contemporary art.   Rooted in the fundamental values of craftsmanship and open to all curious minds, the programme aims to foster dialogue and redefine how the world views human creation.   The inaugural conversation, moderated by Manveen Rana, took place at the Fondation Cartier in Paris between partners Malika Leiper and Stephen Burks of the interdisciplinary studio Stephen Burks Man Made on 1 April 2026.
