The Aces Postal offers all junior and adult air rifle and air pistol shooters a program designed to encourage participation in the sport and test marksmanship skills nationally against their peers.  The programs also includes para shooters of both disciplines.
The postal can be shot on either electronic targets or Orion paper targets.  Orion targets must be requested from the CMP and will be mailed to participants.  All Orion targets must be returned for scoring at the CMP. Graphic scorecards from electronic targets may be faxed or emailed to the CMP.

Mid-Range 3x600

Stages: 1-3 all at 600 yards 20 shots each.

Block Time: 3 Minute preparation and 22 minute firing times will be combined into a 25 minute block time for each stage.

Sighting Shots: Sighting shots must be fired at the beginning of each event or stage and may be fired only before the first shot for record. No sighting shots may be fired after the first record shot. Unlimited sighting shots will be permitted in the first stage and two sighting shots before the second and third stages. New for 2026: The two sighters on stages 2 and 3 are convertible


Start time will be 0930 on Range 1

Payment will be $30 taken on the day of in the Clubhouse

The Rimfire Sporter Match is for smallbore rifles that weigh 7 1/2 pounds or less with sights. O-Class rifles have open sights; T-Class rifles have telescopes (max. 6X) or receiver sights. Firing is done at 50 and 25 yards in prone, sitting and standing positions, in slow and rapid fire modes.

This match is 5 minutes unlimited sighters. Followed by 40 shots for record in 30 minutes.

The match will begin at 0930. Payment will be taken at the Clubhouse and check in for the match will be on Range 2.

Service Pistol: Competitors fire a service pistol, as defined by the CMP Competition Rules, over the Pistol National Match Course of fire: 10 shots slow-fire standing, 50 yards; 10 shots timed-fire standing, 25 yards; 10 shots rapid-fire standing, 25 yards. This Match will begin at 1:15pm on Range 3

Service Revolver: Service revolvers fired at 50 yds, 20 shots, slow fire; 25 yards, 2x5 shots, timed fire; 25 yards, 2x5 shots, rapid fire. This Match will begin at 2:00pm on Range 3

.22 rimfire Pistol: Competitors fire a .22 rimfire pistol, as defined by the CMP Competition Rules, over the Pistol National Match Course of fire: 10 shots slow-fire standing, 50 yards; 10 shots timed-fire standing, 25 yards; 10 shots rapid-fire standing, 25 yards. This Match will begin at 12:30pm on Range 3

All payment for matches will be taken day of matches in the Clubhouse.

Payment for Matches is $30 each as there are three matches total.

All competitors in the Carbine Rifle match use a M1 Carbine and fire 40 shots at a distance of 100 yards. The course of fire is 15 shots slow-fire prone (first 5 shots are sighters); 10 shots rapid-fire prone; 10 shots rapid-fire sitting; 10 shots slow fire standing.


This match will begin at 1300 on Range 2 after the GSMMM. Payment of $30 will be taken day of in the clubhouse. 

The John C. Garand Match or GSMMM is the CMP's most popular CMP Games event held! The course of fire is 15 shots slow-fire prone (first 5 shots are sighters); 10 shots rapid-fire prone; 10 shots slow fire standing. All shot from 200 yards.

The Springfield is a M1903 Springfiled. The Vintage Military Rifle "as-issued" U.S. Krag or M1917 rifles or manually operated foreign military rifles. The Modern Military rifles fire semi-automatic military type rifles of U.S., or foreign manufactures that comply with CMP Games Rules. This match is intended for standard production or as-issued rifles with no special accurizing or match conditioning.

Vintage Military Rifle Benchrest is as issued M1 Garand Springfield, or vintage military rifle. As well Vintage Sniper rifle.   

Course of fire is Five (5) Sighting shots and 30 Record shots at 300 yards in a time limit of 30 minutes. Firing must be done from a benchrest with a maximum of two sandbag supports.

The New England Games, hosted by the Vermont State Rifle & Pistol Association and the Vermont National Guard, includes Rifle and Pistol Marksmanship 101 with M16 & M17 EIC Matches, Garand/Springfield/Vintage & Modern Military Matches, a Carbine Match, a Rimfire Sporter Match and a Vintage Sniper Match.  The CMP HP Rifle Matches include a Mid-Range 3X600, a 2-Man Team Match, three days of 80 Shot Matches and an EIC Service Rifle Match.  Pistol Matches include the CMP Match Pistol 2700, the CMP .22 Rimfire Pistol EIC Match, Military & Police Service Pistol Match, 1911 As-Issued Pistol Match, EIC Service Pistol Match and the Service Revolver EIC Match.  

Competitors that register & pay before September 1 will receive the New England Games T-Shirt.  Competitors that register or pay after September 1 may purchase the New England Games T-Shirt for $20.00 (plus tax) at the event.

The CMP will also be bringing back the electronic targets to Camp Ethan Allen.  All events fired on the Highpower Range will be fired on electronic targets.  The CMP 80 Shot Matches, EIC Rifle Match, Carbine Match and Garand/Springfield/Vintage/Modern Military Matches will be pre-squadded. 

Please note competitors will have to supply their own ammunitition for all events (except for the Rifle & Pistol Marksmanship 101 with M16 & M17 Matches).

The 60 shot international air rifle and air pistol competition will take place on Friday and Saturday, 9-10 October 2026. There will be a Final at the conclusion of the matches on Saturday.  A 3x20 Smallbore Match will take place on Saturday and Sunday, October 10th and 11th!

Pre-registration is required for the matches. Air Gun events will take place at the Judith Legerski CMP Competition Center South in Anniston, Alabama. Entry fees for air gun are $60 per person. The smallbore match will take place at the Talladega Marksmanship Park in Talladega, Alabama.  Entry fees for smallbore are $60.

The schedule will feature Rifle Marksmanship 101/M16 Match, Garand/Springfield/Vintage & Modern Military Matches, Rimfire Sporter Match, a Carbine Match and a Vintage Sniper Match. The Talladega 600 will be held Saturday November 7 - Sunday November 15, 2026. The event schedule has been designed to appeal to rifle and pistol enthusiasts alike in order to provide an even wider variety of marksmanship opportunities to competitors from around the country.

Events to be fired will include a Garand, Springfield, Vintage and Modern Military Match, as well as the Vintage Sniper, Carbine and Rimfire Match. Additionally, there will be a Rifle Marksmanship 101 with an M16 Match, the Congressional 30 (Course of Fire will be the Presidents Rifle Match), the Dixie Double Highpower Match (Hearst Doubles Match course of fire) and an EIC Rifle Match.  Other Rifle Events include the addition of three 800 Aggregate Rifle Matches as well as three Mid-Range 2X600 Matches.

There will also be a Shot Gun 2-Man Loop event.

Pistol events will include the Pistol Marksmanship 101 with an M17 Match, CMP Match Pistol 2700, .22 Rimfire EIC Pistol Match, the Service Pistol EIC Match, the Service Revolver EIC Match, the As-Issued 1911 and the Military & Police Matches.  Pistol events will be fired on paper turning targets.

*Competitors that register/pay by October 17 will receive the Talladega 600 T-Shirt.  Competitors that register/pay after October 17 may purchase the Talladega 600 T-Shirt at the event for $20.00 (plus tax).

Each firing point of the 500-acre facility is equipped with a state-of-the-art, KTS electronic target and scoring monitor. Located beside the shooter on the firing line, each monitor allows the competitor to see what he or she fired in a matter of seconds.
