🇩🇪🇺🇦 Germany has the capital. Ukraine has the ecosystem. What's missing is the connection. That was the through-line at #UADEVC2026 - the first Ukrainian-German venture and tech deal-access event ever organized jointly by investors from both sides. Our founder, Alexander Tebbe, took the stage to share how new, EU-regulated investment vehicles are channeling European private and institutional capital directly into reconstruction - housing and urban development, built in partnership with Ukrainian municipalities and public investment support mechanisms. It's a practical answer to the question that came up again and again in the room: how do we move from interest to actual capital deployment? Ukrainian investors made the same point from a different angle: experienced founders, funds, and support structures already exist in Ukraine. The opportunity isn't building something new. Christopher first joined us as an impact investor and has now become part of the team. We asked him why. You started as an impact investor at Crowd Ukraine Invest AG and are now joining as CFO. What motivated this step? "I find the combination of addressing a social challenge - housing in a war zone - while generating financial returns compelling. As a member of the Bundesverband Impact Investing, I believe returns are an essential part of impact investing. Otherwise, it is a donation, not an investment. Only an attractive risk-return profile can mobilize private capital. I strongly believe in the mission, the team, and Ukraine." Can you tell us about your career path and what brought you to impact investing and Ukraine's reconstruction? "I am a trained banker and economist. At Deutsche Investment, I was introduced to sustainability and impact investing. Today I serve as CFO of the German Impact Investing Association. Crowd Ukraine Invest AG combines positive impact with sustainable financial returns." What is your personal connection to Ukraine? "My girlfriend fled Ukraine after the full-scale invasion, so this mission is personal. I have also seen the country's resilience and progress. I'm convinced this development will continue, and I want to contribute." 💛💙 You recently visited Ukraine. What stood out most? "The resilience of the people. I was surprised to see how much everyday life continues despite the war. It reinforced my conviction that Ukraine deserves long-term reconstruction funding and continued support from investors and institutions." You have many years of experience in impact investing and now serve as a Finance Board Member of the Bundesverband Impact Investing (BVII). How has this shaped your perspective? "Impact capital is essential for rebuilding Ukraine. It allows investors to address major societal challenges while earning market-rate returns. That is the only way to attract private capital at scale." What is your vision for Crowd Ukraine Invest AG? "We bridge the needs of people in Ukraine with investors' expectations. By creating transparent, well-governed investment structures, we make it easier for institutional and private investors to participate in Ukraine's reconstruction." What do you bring to the team? "I bring more than 15 years of experience in financial controlling at Warburg Invest, Haspa | Hamburger Sparkasse, and Deutsche Investment KVG, together with expertise in ESG and European regulatory frameworks. I don't just build the business case for Ukraine's reconstruction - I actively advocate for it." #URC2026 Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026, Gdańsk -7,500 participants. Nearly 200 agreements. €10 billion for Ukraine's reconstruction. How to Attract International Investment for Ukraine's Reconstruction At Crowd Ukraine Invest AG, we believe that Ukraine is one of the most promising investment destinations in Europe, not despite the challenges, but because of the opportunities emerging through reconstruction and transformation. We were proud to contribute to the discussion at the 5th Foreign Investment Congress 2026, where our Founder & CEO, Alexander Tebbe, participated in the panel: "Construction and Infrastructure in Ukraine: Investment Opportunities, State Support and Financial Mechanisms." On May 28, 2026 this panel brought together key stakeholders from government, business, financial institutions, international partners, and civil society. The discussion focused on Ukraine's transition from emergency recovery to a systemic, long-term reconstruction model. One message came through clearly: Ukraine's reconstruction should not be viewed merely as the cost of war recovery, but as a strategic investment in the country's future economic development. Participants emphasized that unlocking international capital depends on several critical conditions: 🔸 High-quality spatial and infrastructure planning 🔸 Predictable and transparent investment rules 🔸 Strong public-private cooperation 🔸 Effective financial and de-risking mechanisms A central insight was the importance of project quality. International financing is directly linked to the level of preparation, including feasibility studies, technical documentation, procurement standards, and alignment with international governance frameworks. The Congress brought together 322 participants from 36 countries and 137 speakers, including leading representatives of business, government, international financial institutions, local communities, and civil society. Over two days, discussions covered reconstruction, infrastructure, energy security, innovation, DefenceTech, AI, human capital, and regional development. Our key takeaways: 🔹 Ukraine's reconstruction is one of the most significant investment opportunities of our generation. 🔹 International investors seek not only opportunities, but also trust, transparency, and long-term partnership frameworks. 🔹 Public-private cooperation is essential to unlock large-scale investment and accelerate recovery. 🔹 Ukrainian entrepreneurs and local communities are already developing investment-ready, high-impact projects. 🔹 Ukraine is not only rebuilding, it is reshaping itself into a more resilient, innovative, and competitive economy.
