Introducing the next-gen power plant for a 100% renewable and reliable energy supply

Info

As spin-off from the TU Munich, we're a highly tech-driven climate startup paving the way to 100% renewable, decarbonized future by making the most of biogas. Our all-in-one solution comes as a containerized standard unit: ready for mass manufacturing and plug&play installation, offers revolutionary electrical efficiencies of 80% for both power generation and energy storage, and actively reduces GHG emissions with a negative CO2 balance. With this unique combination of USPs, we disrupt the entire energy sector! Reverions mission is to replace 19th century combustion engine technology still used today for biogas utilization with our patented high temperature fuel cell systems. Thereby, we would be able to double the available power output throughout Europe with the same amount of biogas and to: • cut 10% of total CO2 emissions (-260 Mt/yr), tackling global warming and achieve the 1.5° mitigation targets • generate >400 TWh of renewable gases (green H2/CH4), bridging week-long periods without sun or wind using surplus energy and biogenic CO2 • power more than 65M households, assuring supply security with weather-independent, reliable and 24/7 available bioenergy

Time to celebrate 🌞 As we scale up industrially and grow our team fast, everyone at Reverion has been putting in the hard work to push things forward – so it was time to pause, come together, and celebrate what we've built. Our whole team gathered at a stunning location right on 🏖️Pucher Meer for our well-deserved company summer party, and it was everything we hoped for and more. The highlights? Inspiring speeches from our two MDs Stephan and Felix, reflecting on everything we’ve achieved already and setting the tone for what’s to come, followed by a fantastic live performance from the Reverion Band. From swimming and lake fun to games and activities, there was something for everyone. And with delicious food, a perfect setting, and a great DJ that kept the evening going, it was the perfect way to unwind after all the effort. A day to remember! Here's to the team that makes it all possible🥂

Three days. Countless conversations. One clear takeaway: the demand for flexible, highly efficient energy systems continues to grow. Over three days at The smarter E/ ees - electrical energy storage at Messe München, we met with partners, customers, and new contacts to discuss how reversible solid oxide cell technology can support the energy transition – from highly efficient biogas power generation to green hydrogen production and long-duration energy storage. One highlight was being part of the HYDROGEN DIALOGUE Guided Tour "Green Hydrogen Systems". International delegations and industry experts visited our booth to learn how our reversible power plants combine electricity generation, hydrogen production, and energy storage in a single system. Another highlight was welcoming Baden-Württemberg’s State Secretary, Raimund Haser, to our booth. Our discussions reinforced the growing importance of flexible, storage-capable energy technologies for strengthening energy security and accelerating the energy transition in Baden-Württemberg and beyond. The exhibition also brought exciting business news: we signed a contract with Robert Mayr from Mayr Energie GmbH & Co. KG for the delivery of one of our Reverion M-500/1250 reversible power plants. We look forward to working together and taking the next step toward a more resilient energy system. Thank you to everyone who visited our booth, shared ideas, and challenged us with thoughtful questions. These conversations are essential for turning innovative technologies into real-world solutions. ©: Pictures 1, 4 and 5 by Viktor Schwenk

Last week, we had a wonderful evening with our #HerTechNetwork community. Familiar and new faces came together to discuss what it takes to build a courageous career in tech.  Dr. Lin Strobio Chen and Manolya Lauko joined us for a fireside chat and shared what their paths have looked like with authenticity. Manolya also walked us through the neuroscience behind those moments when courage feels out of reach and how to find it. The Q&A that followed was equally enriching. How do you build the courage to trust yourself, step up, and shape what comes next?  That was the conversation we had last week, and it was one worth having. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to Héloïse, Lisa, and the many wonderful women from the Reverion team for making it happen. 💚 Want to stay connected? Join our network and newsletter. Last week, we welcomed the #CDRExperienceTour at the Eggertshof in Freising. It was great having so many different people from politics, industry, financial institutions and science on site. Carbon dioxide removal is increasingly becoming a central topic in the debate around climate protection, innovation and industrial transformation, and we are happy to be part of this journey!  Reverion not only produces reversible fuel cell systems with a revolutionary electrical efficiency of up to 80%, but also enables the generation of negative emissions. During the electrochemical conversion of biogas into electricity, biogenic CO₂ is separated out – we capture, liquefy, transport and store it permanently. What makes this special: unlike conventional biogas upgrading plants, Reverion can separate the entire carbon content of the biogas stream, generating up to twice as many negative emissions. Thanks for organizing this, Deutscher Verband für negative Emissionen e.V. (DVNE), together with remove, CDRterra and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München

A great day in Eresing: we were delighted to welcome our Project Officer from CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency on site. The occasion was a special milestone. With our RESILIENCE project, we have reached Entry into Operation. During the joint tour, we were able to show our new serial production facility, which is currently entering the start of its ramp-up phase. Across all manufacturing steps, final assembly through to initial commissioning on the test field – the facility in Eresing is ready for the next step. And that next step is exactly what we are looking forward to most: the serial production of Reverion power plants. Reversible, highly efficient and carbon-negative – scaled from single-unit production to series. A big thank you to the #InnovationFund and CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency for the support along this journey.

Can biogas plants do more than generate electricity?    Supported by the #InnovationFund, the RESILIENCE project in Germany is helping biogas producers get more from the same fuel while reducing emissions.     It supports Europe's transition to a more flexible and resilient energy system by: 🔹 Generating up to twice as much electricity from biogas  🔹 Capturing CO₂ instead of releasing it into the atmosphere  🔹 Storing surplus renewable energy for later use Coordinated by the startup Reverion, the project aims to avoid up to 2.4 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions over its first ten years of operation. With €19.5 million in Innovation Fund support, RESILIENCE is now moving from innovation to industrial deployment. Read more: https://lnkd.in/enBTBHRC EU Environment and Climate
