This recognition comes at a particularly significant moment for agriculture in the region: Latin America and the Caribbean are the world’s largest food-exporting hub, playing an essential role in global food security. In Brazil, this leadership is also reflected in the numbers. In 2025, Brazilian agribusiness exports reached US$169 billion, representing nearly half of everything the country exported. Most people don't realize how much water goes into a single bowl of rice. Traditional rice farming means flooded paddies. It's been done that way for centuries. But today, those paddies use nearly 30% of the world's freshwater. And in the rice-growing regions of Asia, water is becoming harder to find every season. There's a different way. Direct Seeded Rice skips the flooding entirely. Farmers plant climate-resilient seeds straight into dry soil, no transplanting required. The results go beyond theory — up to 40% less water, 45% fewer emissions, and half the dependence on manual labor. It sounds simple, but making it work at scale takes more than an idea. Farming with only 12–16 inches of annual precipitation, Jamie shared how she and her husband combined innovation and ingenuity to transition their entire farm to no-till. The result? Hybrid corn transformed agriculture. We believe hybrid wheat can become the next major innovation story. Today, Bayer announced a new exclusive licensing agreement with RAGT Seeds International that strengthens the foundation for future hybrid wheat innovation and supports our ambition to bring hybrid wheat to farmers in Europe and North America in the early 2030s. Why does this matter? Because wheat remains one of the world's most important crops, and growers need new solutions to help them improve productivity and manage increasingly challenging growing conditions. By combining elite germplasm with Bayer's breeding capabilities, agronomic expertise, and development pipeline, we're taking another important step toward building a leading hybrid wheat franchise. Hybrid wheat has the potential to deliver productivity increases of around 10% at launch, with additional gains over time. This is about more than a single product launch.
