Hace poco tuvimos la oportunidad de visitar las oficinas de Fyffes Costa Rica, un miembro de larga trayectoria de la GLOBALG.A.P. Community, y mantener una conversación muy interesante sobre la situación actual del sector de productos frescos y los retos a los que se enfrenta la agricultura en toda la región. Durante la reunión, reflexionamos sobre la importancia estratégica que tiene para América Central y el Caribe la producción de plátanos/bananas, un sector que continúa desempeñando un papel fundamental en las economías regionales. En la conversación se destacó la importancia de mantener una sólida cultura de certificación dentro de las organizaciones, así como de abordar los retos cambiantes relacionados con la producción responsable y las expectativas cada vez mayores de los consumidores y compradores de todo el mundo. Puesto que el sector no deja de cambiar, la colaboración y el compromiso compartido siguen siendo fundamentales para promover unas prácticas de producción responsables y reforzar unas cadenas de suministro resilientes.
