For more than 50 years, the North Carolina Department of Natural & Cultural Resources (DNCR) has inspired curiosity and a lifelong love of learning through its statewide network of museums, parks, historic sites, aquariums, libraries, archives, the zoo, the symphony, and more. The Office of K 12 Education & Outreach carries this mission forward through our Learning Happens Here initiative, which elevates and extends the educational impact of more than 100 DNCR sites to empower teachers and enrich classrooms across North Carolina, while also providing cross-disciplinary programming, professional development, classroom resources, and more.
