होना तो यह चाहिए था कि संविधान निर्माताओं, खासकर डॉक्टर अंबेडकर, जो शिक्षा के अधिकार को संविधान क... more होना तो यह चाहिए था कि संविधान निर्माताओं, खासकर डॉक्टर अंबेडकर, जो शिक्षा के अधिकार को संविधान के खंड 3 में मौलिक अधिकारों के साथ रखना चाहते थे, और जिन्होंने उसे संविधान के खंड 4 में राज्य के नीति-निर्देशक तत्वों के साथ इस संकल्प के साथ रखा कि दस वर्षों में शिक्षा के अधिकार का लक्ष्य हासिल कर लिया जाना चाहिए; और सर्वोच्च न्यायालय के फैसले का सम्मान करते हुए साठ साल बाद ही सही, देश के सभी नौनिहालों को समान गुणवत्ता वाली शिक्षा देने का उद्यम किया जाता। लेकिन हुआ यह कि भाजपा और कांग्रेस की मिलीभगत और अन्य राजनैतिक दलों के उनके साथ सहयोग से बच्चों को मिला मौलिक अधिकार इस कानून के जरिए छीन लिया गया।

प्रेमचंद के साहित्य में भी प्रादेशिकता और वैश्विकता का संघर्ष मिलता है। हालाँकि, उनकी प्रादेशिकता... more प्रेमचंद के साहित्य में भी प्रादेशिकता और वैश्विकता का संघर्ष मिलता है। हालाँकि, उनकी प्रादेशिकता की धारणा अतीतोन्मुखी साहित्यकारों जैसी नहीं है। वह सीधे युगीन यथार्थ से जुड़ी है। प्रेमचंद के साहित्य में प्रादेशिकता की खूबियाँ और कमजोरियाँ दोनों मिलती है। वे प्रादेशिकता पर वैश्विकता के वर्चस्व स्थापन में खुद भारतीयों की भूमिका को भी सामने लाते हैं। खासकर सामंतों, बुद्धिजीवियों और पूँजीपति व्यवसायियों की भूमिका प्रादेशिकता-विरोधी है। प्रेमचंद की वैश्विकता की धारणा भी कई अन्य साहित्यकारों से अलग है। उनके साहित्य में वैश्विकता के दमनकारी और मनुष्य-विरोधी चरित्र की पहचान के साथ उसके वैसा होने के मूलभूत कारण की पहचान की गयी है। अन्य ज्यादातर साहित्यकारों की तरह वे अपने साहित्य में प्रादेशिक अध्यात्मिकता के बरक्स वैश्विकता के भौतिकतावादी होने का इकहरा तर्क नहीं देते। हालाँकि, रचनात्मक के अलावा प्रेमचंद के विचारात्मक लेखन से पता चलता है कि वे दार्शनिक अर्थ में भौतिकवादी नहीं है। उनकी वैश्विकता के साथ असहमति का मूल कारण उसका धर्म-रहित होना है। यानी वैश्विकता के दमनकारी और मनुष्य-विरोधी होने का मूल कारण वे उसका धर्म-रहित होना मानते हैं।

(His actual date of birth is 27 September 1931.) Had he lived a few more years, he could have expanded the modern, progressive sensibility inherent in New Poetry to a far wider audience of ordinary readers principally through his ghazals. Dushyant Kumar's quarrel was with the abstruseness and monotony of New Poetry, not with New Poetry itself. In the preface to his ghazal collection 'Saaye Mein Dhoop' (Sunlight in the Shade), he suggested that he would not mind treating the Hindi ghazal as a genre of New Poetry.

Hence, it advocates complete transparency, honesty and accountability in politics, the political parties/leaders who carry it out, and the power-game inevitably associated with them. It believes that if the structure and functioning of a political party is not democratic, then the democratic system will inevitably be distorted. It does not accept the rule of one party, one person, and one family as democratic by any argument/logic. In this way, it is a philosophy that proposes a civilization of a socialist political conduct in world politics.

It seems only one aspect of the crisis: that India is in the grip of the RSS. It is unwilling to seriously consider why India is in the grip of the RSS; how to free it from its grip; and what political culture of thought and conduct should be evolved so that it does not fall further into the RSS grip. Instead, it attempts to co-opt the ideas and efforts of alternative politics in favour of neo-imperialist counter-revolution. The obvious reason is that in case it accepts this reality, it will have to confront the truth of counter-revolution, to which it continues to remain hypocritical and serves as a misleading force for the new generations. The secular/progressive camp flaunts its rage against the RSS's distortion of history, but seeks to conceal the history that it is creating by itself.

किशन पटनायक के अलावा किसी अन्य नेता या विचारक ने साफ तौर पर यह नहीं कहा है कि वैश्वीकरण की प्रक्र... more किशन पटनायक के अलावा किसी अन्य नेता या विचारक ने साफ तौर पर यह नहीं कहा है कि वैश्वीकरण की प्रक्रिया दरअसल वैश्विक प्रतिक्रांति की प्रक्रिया है। नवउदारवाद के साढ़े तीन दशक बीतने के बाद यह कह सकते हैं कि भारत उस प्रतिक्रांति का संघटक अंग बन चुका है; और मुखर गुणगायक भी। इस मुकाम पर भारत की प्रतिक्रांति पर नजर डालें तो पाते हैं कि वह कलाबाजी अंदाज में अपने पुरखों का भक्षण करते हुए परिपुष्ट हुई है। उन पुरखों का जो स्वतंत्रता, संप्रभुता, समानता, स्वावलंबन, सद्भाव, साहित्य, संस्कृति, सभ्याचार के गतिशील स्रोत रहे हैं। यानि, हमारे समाजीय एवं राष्ट्रीय जीवन के प्रतीक और अनुप्रतीक। भारत में चल रही प्रतिक्रांति की आंधी इस कदर बलवती है कि उसकी भूख केवल ऐतिहासिक प्रतीकों-अनुप्रतीकों के भक्षण तक सीमित नहीं रहती; वह समय के अनंत आयाम में निवास करने वाले आध्यात्मिक-धार्मिक प्रतीकों को भी अपना भोज्य बना रही है।

This tradition extends to the freedom fighters of 1857 who led an armed rebellion against British imperialism. The tradition also extends to underground revolutionaries, leaders who organized mass movements, and the Indian people who participated in those movements. Writers, artists, and scholars from all Indian languages have played their part in this discourse through their writings and representations in different categories and genres. Philosophical leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru and Ram Manohar Lohia have enriched the discourse on the nature (swarup) of Bharat Mata through their writings and speeches. This has led to the creation of diverse images of Bharat Mata in the Indian public consciousness which has led to the creation of numerous paintings of Bharat Mata.

Obviously, Lohia sees the Quit India Movement directly from the perspective of the role and will of the Indian people, i.e. their outright opposition to imperialist chains. In this movement, the people themselves were their leaders. Lohia's active role in the Quit India Movement and his views about the same can be read from this perspective. Including the long letter, which he wrote to the Viceroy of India, Lord Linlithgow, from the jail on 2 March 1946.

These two incidents are described by the British officers and historians as the most barbaric and deceitful acts of massacre by the rebels. However, there are controversial and contradictory versions about the incidents.

The importance of this fast increases when we consider that it has restored the credibility, dignity, and strength of protest fasts. I do not wish to refer here to the fasts that are staged for self-promotion. Instead, I like to refer to the observation made by Abhimanyu Kohar, convener of the protest going on for over a year at Khanauri border, who points out that while the media covered Anna Hazare's 13-day fast in 2011 around the clock, they have barely devoted a fraction of that attention to Jagjit Singh Dallewal's long and determined fast.

By then, the country had witnessed both the faces of counter-revolution – ‘Kejriwal-kranti’ and ‘Modi-kranti’. The people of the country could get the ‘good fortune’ of this witnessing due to the courtesy of the progressive and secular intellectuals. A lot of water has flowed in the Ganga and the Yamuna since then. (However, in corporate India, water in the rivers of the country rots more than flows; and rivers are used more for winning elections than washing away sins.)

In the just concluded Delhi Assembly elections (2025), the big face of counter-revolution has defeated the small face of counter-revolution, obviously, in a mutual fight. The progressive and secular intellectuals, particularly those who have been guilty of alternative politics, are upset with this sudden setback and are busy analyzing the same. They are convincing themselves more than the people that they were right, they are right, and they will remain right. For them the struggle to save secularism and democracy in the country's politics goes on like this, and will continue in the similar manner in the future as well. I would also try to present my point of view on this entire political phenomenon after a few days. Till then, these two comments are released again for the new readers.)

(नीचे दी गईं दो टिप्पणियां फरवरी और मई 2015 में हस्तक्षेपडॉटकॉम पर प्रकाशित हुई थीं। तब तक देश प्... more (नीचे दी गईं दो टिप्पणियां फरवरी और मई 2015 में हस्तक्षेपडॉटकॉम पर प्रकाशित हुई थीं। तब तक देश प्रतिक्रांति के दोनों चेहरों – केजरीवाल-क्रांति और मोदी-क्रांति – के दर्शन कर चुका था। देश की जनता को यह दर्शन करने का ‘सौभाग्य’ देश के प्रगतिशील और धर्मनिरपेक्ष बुद्धिजीवियों के सौजन्य से प्राप्त हुआ था। तब से गंगा और यमुना में बहुत पानी बह चुका है। (हालांकि, निगम भारत में देश की नदियों में पानी बहता कम, सड़ता ज्यादा है; और नदियां पाप धोने से ज्यादा चुनाव जीतने के काम आती हैं।) अभी-अभी सम्पन्न हुए दिल्ली विधानसभा चुनावों (2025) में प्रतिक्रांति के बड़े चेहरे ने प्रतिक्रांति के छोटे चेहरे को शिकस्त दी है। वैकल्पिक राजनीति के गुनाहगार प्रगतिशील और धर्मनिरपेक्ष बुद्धिजीवी इस अचानक लगे सेटबैक से परेशान हैं, और उसके विश्लेषण में जुटे हैं। लोगों से ज्यादा खुद को समझा रहे हैं कि वे सही थे, सही हैं, और सही रहेंगे। देश कि राजनीति में धर्मनिरपेक्षता और लोकतंत्र को बचाने का संघर्ष इसी तरह चलता है, और चलेगा। इस पूरी राजनीतिक परिघटना पर कुछ दिन बाद हम भी अपना पक्ष रखने कि कोशिश करेंगे। तब तक ये दो टिप्पणियां नए पाठकों के लिए जारी कर रहा हूं। - प्रेम सिंह)
