Taiwan's TCI Group is investing €20 million in Barcelona to establish its first production and R&D hub in Europe 🧪 📍 The new facility in the Barcelona metropolitan area will create 15 highly qualified jobs in its initial phase and is expected to begin operations in May 2027. 🤝 This week, ACCIÓ-Catalonia Trade & Investment organized a two-day visit for a Japanese delegation from the gas and energy sector, led by Dr. Takeo Kikkawa, president of the International University of Japan and Gas Energy News. The program included meetings at our headquarters in Barcelona, a visit to Enagás' LNG terminal, home to the world's first cold energy utilization project, and a stop at the Torre Santa Maria biogas plant. At this week's Advancing Business Quantum Technologies work group, chaired by Minister Miquel Sàmper Rodríguez, ACCIÓ - Catalonia Trade & Investment presented a new report: Catalonia's quantum ecosystem now counts 52 companies and €91.4M in annual revenue. Behind these numbers, world-class research institutions like ICFO, the Barcelona Supercomputing Center and Institut Català de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia (ICN2), companies like Quside, plus Spain's first quantum computer built entirely with European technology, form a solid foundation for a thriving ecosystem spanning quantum computing, communications, encryption and sensing, with applications from #aerospace to #healthcare and #cybersecurity. ✨ And the world is taking notice. 📣 fischer group has chosen Catalonia for its first automated warehouse outside Germany! 💰 Following an investment of more than €4 million, the company has inaugurated a new #AI-powered logistics facility in Tarragona, Catalonia, increasing storage capacity by 50% and strengthening its operations across Spain, Andorra and Portugal. 🤝 Supported by Catalonia Trade & Investment through a €2.25 million grant from the Nuclear Transition Fund, the project combines automation, #robotics and #AI to improve efficiency while creating new jobs and securing existing ones. 💬 "This automated warehouse marks a new chapter for the company.
