19.3% of Carbery Group's supplier landscape is dedicated to nature. Carbery Group has completed one of the largest biodiversity assessments ever undertaken across an Irish dairy supplier base, and the findings prove what farmers have long known: productive dairy farming and nature can thrive together. Working with ODOS Tech, Carbery Group mapped 980 supplier farms, covering almost 90% of its milk supply base and more than 64,800 hectares of farmland. The assessment identified 12,583 hectares of Space for Nature, larger than Dublin City, and 4,800 km of hedgerows, further than from Ireland to Boston. At 19.3%, the share of nature-rich habitats nearly doubles the EU's 10% target for 2030. "The findings showcase the significant biodiversity resource that exists across our supplier base and the important role farming families play in maintaining it." — Jason Hawkins, CEO, Carbery Group Congratulations to the entire Carbery Group team and to every farming family across West Cork whose stewardship made these numbers possible. ODOS Tech is the climate action platform for livestock companies. Our platform is built around three solutions, designed to work together as one system. 1. Bring your data together Sustainability data is scattered across spreadsheets, partner systems, and farmer reports. ODOS Tech pulls it all into one place, fixes what's broken, and turns it into a foundation you can analyse, decide, and report from. 2. Analyse your supply chain Once your data is together, you need to see what it's telling you. ODOS Tech turns your full supply chain into a set of interactive dashboards, so you can spot patterns, compare farms, and identify where action will move the needle. 3. Choose the right interventions Knowing your footprint isn't enough. You need to know which actions will reduce it, where they work, and what they'll cost. ODOS Tech models 30+ science-backed mitigation strategies across your supply chain, so every decision is grounded in evidence.

What's slowing down sustainability progress on farms? At our recent event, we interviewed David R. Yáñez-Ruiz, Research Professor at CSIC (Spanish National Research Council), based at the Zaidín Experimental Station in Granada. His group works on ruminant nutrition, improving rumen fermentation and reducing the methane emissions generated during digestion through nutritional strategies aimed at cutting the environmental impact of livestock farming. David's assessment was honest: the dairy sector is making a real effort, both in adopting known measures and in quantifying their effect, but progress on both fronts is still only halfway there. Training farmers, building trust, and collecting reliable data are genuinely hard, especially when every farm is different and access to data varies widely between cooperatives. There's no single playbook that fits every farm, which means real progress depends on solutions that can adapt to that variability rather than assume it away. A huge thank you to David for sharing his time and expertise. More from the Dairy Innovation, Science and Sustainability Summit: https://lnkd.in/esq3P6uh

Bring your data together before you try to act on it. Sustainability data is scattered across spreadsheets, partner systems, and farmer reports. You can't analyse or report from a mess. That's the idea behind Bring Your Data Together, one of the core pillars of the ODOS Tech platform. We pull it all into one place, fix what's broken, and turn it into a foundation you can build on. Make data collection easy. Upload documents, connect existing systems, or bring in scheduled farm visits. We extract, structure, and standardise herd, milk, feed, fertiliser, manure, and energy data, so you don't have to. Connect and clean your data. Integrates with tools like Cool Farm Tool, agronomist platforms, ERPs, and national databases, so there's no second round of data collection. Then it catches mistakes, applies industry-trusted emission factors, and fills gaps with proven prediction models. Map your land from a satellite. Extract farm boundaries and habitats across the supply chain using 50cm satellite imagery, so land and nature data sit alongside emissions data. See how it works: https://lnkd.in/dzvhWvFf

Why simplicity wins in livestock innovation. In this part of our conversation with Jomi Bernad, Regional Manager at Alltech Spain, the discussion turns to a real barrier in the sector: new technical terms like "yeasts" or "essential oils" can confuse farmers rather than help them. Jomi's take is clear: any technology, whether it's yeasts, essential oils, or slow-release urea, only works if it's part of a simple, tailored program. The farmer needs to understand where they're starting from and where the program will take them, not just on sustainability, but on profitability and return on investment. That's the real key. A mitigation strategy only lands when it's built around the farmer's own goals, not just an emissions target. It's exactly the philosophy behind the Mitigation Toolbox we've built with Alltech as one of the mitigation providers at ODOS Tech: turning complex science into a clear action plan. A huge thank you to Jomi for this conversation. Learn more about our mitigation providers: https://lnkd.in/ebxc4UtB Watch the full interview below (subtitled in English).

See what your scope 3 data is actually telling you. A footprint number on its own doesn't tell you where to act. You need to see the patterns behind it. That's the idea behind Analyse Your Supply Chain, one of the core pillars of the ODOS Tech platform. We turn your full supply chain into a set of interactive dashboards, so you can spot patterns, compare farms, and identify where action will have the most impact. From there, it's about understanding what's really driving the numbers: Benchmark performance. Footprint vs productivity, feed efficiency, nitrogen use efficiency. Spot the highest emitters, the best performers, and the farms with the biggest opportunity to improve both. Surface the drivers. Feed blends and carbon footprint by type. Fertiliser mix and application rates. Slurry storage and spreading methods. Understand what's actually driving emissions, farm by farm. Analyse habitat quantity and quality. See how much of the supply chain is managed as natural or semi-natural land, and how healthy it is, straight from satellite imagery. See how it works: https://lnkd.in/eXAnucYQ

dsm-firmenich X ODOS Tech dsm-firmenich is a global science-based company behind Bovaer, a product for reducing methane emissions in ruminants. We sat down with Luis Tamassia, veterinarian and ruminant nutrition expert representing dsm-firmenich, who joined our Feed Additives and Animal Nutrition panel at The Dairy Innovation, Science & Sustainability Summit. dsm-firmenich's methane-reducing feed additive is modelled in ODOS Tech's Mitigation Toolbox, so livestock companies can see the exact emission reduction impact of the product across their supply chain. A huge thank you to Luis for his trust and vision. See who else we work with: https://lnkd.in/ebxc4UtB Watch the full interview below (subtitled in English).

Find the most cost-effective path to net-zero. That's the idea behind one of the core solutions of the ODOS Tech platform. We model 30+ science-backed mitigation strategies across animal health and breeding, nutrition and feed additives, forage and pasture, manure and slurry, fertiliser, and production management. From there, it's about turning data into decisions: Run scenarios across the supply chain. Filter farms by emissions, productivity, or herd size, test strategies, and compare environmental, productivity, and cost impact through marginal abatement cost curves. Build and verify farm-specific action plans. ODOS Tech recommends the best strategies for each farm, based on its reality. Select the actions, model the gains, then upload evidence to verify. COVAP X ODOS Tech COVAP is one of Spain's leading agricultural cooperatives, built on the work of farming families across Andalusia. We sat down with Ana Alicia Bolivar Lara, Sustainability Manager at COVAP, to talk about our collaboration. Her role centres on defining the cooperative's sustainability strategy and tracking progress against it, driving new initiatives and growth across different areas. One of the most important of these has been carbon footprint calculation and mitigation at farm level. COVAP has been measuring and refining its footprint since 2020. Now, with ODOS Tech, that work moves faster: deeper analytics to understand what's driving emissions, and clarity on which interventions will be most cost-effective for each farm. A huge thank you to Ana Alicia for her trust and vision. Watch the full interview below (subtitled in English).

19.3% Space for Nature across an Irish dairy supplier base. Nearly double the EU's 2030 target. The EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030 sets a target for at least 10% of agricultural area to be occupied by high-diversity landscape features. Across Carbery Group's 980 supplier farms, mapped in partnership with ODOS Tech, that figure is more than 19%, with 72% of farms already exceeding the threshold. Professor Jane Stout, Professor of Ecology at Trinity College Dublin, welcomed the findings: "It's great to see that this analysis shows nearly one-fifth of farmland is space for nature. We should celebrate and maintain this in our productive landscapes, and ensure that this space is managed to support farmers, communities, and healthy, thriving ecosystems." This is what biodiversity reporting looks like when it is built on real data: aligned with CSRD ESRS E4 and the TNFD frameworks that agri-food companies are now navigating, and grounded in independent scientific validation. Congratulations to the Carbery team and to every farming family across West Cork whose stewardship made these numbers possible. A FLAG footprint is only as good as what you actually know about the land behind it. Land cover, land-use change, what is growing where, how it has shifted over time. For most supply bases, that layer is a guess. ODOS Tech Land Intelligence removes the guess. We map any farm or parcel from satellite: current land cover, land-use change and deforestation, drawing on a 10-year archive at resolutions down to 0.5 m. A new farm takes around 30 minutes to map. That land layer does two jobs at once. It sharpens the Scope 3 FLAG number, where land-use change is one of the largest and least understood components, and it underpins the nature picture across the same supply base. So instead of three separate exercises for carbon, land and nature, it is one baseline: measured once, kept current, and reported to the standards your buyers already work to, from Science Based Targets initiative FLAG to SAI Platform. Knowing your supply base starts with knowing the land it sits on. See how we mapped Carbery's land: https://lnkd.in/e2yiyhA8
