Eurosatory 2026 is approaching, and AGATE Sensors will be there. 👇 Across #AirborneSystems, #Drones, #CounterUAS and #AdvancedOptics, the next performance leap will not come from “better versions” of legacy sensors. It will come from new sensing architectures that rethink how information is captured, filtered and fused—before the image is ever formed. 👇 At Agate Sensors, we’ve developed sensing technology designed for that shift—bringing intelligence closer to the edge and extracting more meaningful information where it matters. 👇 Our CBO, Mikael Westerlund, will be attending Eurosatory and welcomes a conversation if you're evaluating what comes after today’s imaging stack. Bringing ultra-miniaturized hyperspectral intelligence to wearables, defence solutions, smartphones and beyond
About us
The world's most advanced spectral imaging technology, ultra-miniaturized. Agate Sensors has engineered lab-grade hyperspectral imaging in a single pixel smaller than a grain of sand—integrated into a chip compact enough to sit on your fingertip. We’ve taken what was bulky, complex, and expensive and made it accessible, scalable, and ready for use wherever intelligence is needed. From wearables that reveal new human signals, to defence systems with unprecedented threat detection, to smartphones that extend lab-grade vision to everyday life—our breakthrough technology provides molecular-level insight instantly, securely, and at scale. Founded by physicists, semiconductor veterans, and commercialization experts from Aalto University, we’re not just miniaturizing sensors. We’re democratizing intelligence itself. Industries we’re transforming: Defence • Wearables • Smart Devices Technology: Hyperspectral sensing • Edge AI • CMOS-based • Software-defined The World, Decoded.

Tomorrow. Odense. International Drone Show 2026. ➡️ As drone capabilities expand, so do the engineering tradeoffs. Longer range, greater autonomy, richer sensing capabilities—without adding payload weight, power demands or complexity. That’s a difficult equation. AGATE Sensors is changing what’s possible with software-defined spectral imaging at chip scale—bringing advanced spectral sensing to drone platforms and enabling entirely new sensing capabilities on all types of size, weight, power and cost constrained systems. Niall Shakeshaft, Head of Product, will be there on June 3–4, and if you're exploring advanced sensing, payload integration, or next-generation drone capabilities, he's the person to talk to. ➡️ To book a discussion in advance, reach out to Niall by email niall.shakeshaft (at) agatesensors.com or DM him here. #InternationalDroneShow #Drones #HyperspectralSensing #AutonomousSystems #SensorIntegration #DroneTech

AGATE Sensors julkaisi tämän uudelleen
At SOF Week in Tampa, one signal came through clearly: imaging performance is no longer scaling the way mission requirements are. Across drones, counter‑UAS and advanced weapon sights, the conversation has shifted. Not towards incremental resolution gains or marginal sensitivity improvements—but towards fundamental limits. Physics is catching up with traditional imaging stacks: • Larger optics are no longer viable on SWaP‑constrained platforms • Pixel scaling is delivering diminishing returns • Computational load is rising faster than usable signal quality • Adversaries are actively exploiting these constraints What stood out at SOF Week is that leading operators and system primes already know this. The challenge now is architectural, not incremental. The next performance leap will not come from “better versions” of legacy sensors. It will come from new sensing architectures that rethink how information is captured, filtered and fused—before the image is ever formed. This is where next‑generation sensor technology becomes decisive: • Extracting more information per photon • Shifting intelligence closer to the sensor edge • Designing for contested, adaptive environments from the ground up At SOF Week, we had several high‑quality discussions with teams actively exploring how these architectural shifts can translate into deployable capability—not in the lab, but in real operational systems. The future of sensing is not about seeing more pixels—it’s about seeing more meaning. If you’re leading sensor strategy, system architecture or advanced product development in this space and are evaluating what comes after today’s imaging stack, we welcome a conversation. If traditional imaging is approaching its physical ceiling, what sensing architecture will define the next decade of airborne and weapon‑mounted systems? #SOFWeek #DefenceTechnology #UAS #CounterUAS #WeaponSystems #SensorTechnology #NextGenerationSensors #EdgeIntelligence #TechnologyLeadership

🌟 In the spotlight again! Yesterday, AGATE Sensors was featured in a story by Yle, Finland’s national public broadcasting company and leading media outlet. Here in brief for our ENG speaking followers... At Aalto University and across Finland, technologies originally developed for civilian use are now finding dual‑use and defence applications—driven by today’s rapidly changing world. The piece highlights Metaktik and AgateSensors. At Agate Sensors, we’ve developed hyperspectral imaging technology that enables computers to see beyond the limits of human vision — what the article described as “superhuman vision.” 👁️ By detecting hundreds of wavelengths of light instead of just the few visible to the human eye, our technology helps identify materials, objects, and potential threats with far greater precision. As our CBO, Mikael Westerlund shared in the article: “Current technology understands that there is something in an image. With our technology, we understand what is in the image.” What once required large, expensive laboratory systems can now be packed into a compact semiconductor chip, opening new possibilities across industries ranging from defense and security to wearables, industrial monitoring, and beyond. ⚡ In a world shaped by increasing security challenges, advanced sensing and machine vision capabilities are becoming more important than ever. 🛰️ Thank you to #Yle and #JohanneBlom for covering the important role of deep tech innovation emerging from Finland’s research ecosystem. 🇫🇮 You can find the full piece here (in Finnish): https://lnkd.in/djAX3CwK 👉 And for an English auto-translation, you can also drop the link into Chrome. #DeepTech #ComputerVision #HyperspectralImaging #DualUse #Photonics #DefenseTech #Semiconductors #AI #AaltoUniversity #FinnishInnovation
