Summer doesn't slow down innovation. ELWAVE's production line remains fully operational. This week, another batch of our #ESENSE #OEM underwater electrometers is leaving our facility for an undisclosed customer supporting one of the world's most demanding maritime missions. Some programs cannot be discussed. The technology behind them can. Why measure underwater electric signatures? Electric signatures remain one of the most overlooked observables in underwater sensing, despite their strategic importance. For decades, naval mines have relied on UEP (Underwater Electric Potential) sensors because electric fields reveal information that acoustic and magnetic sensors simply cannot. They provide unique insights into: • Propulsion systems • ICCP (Impressed Current Cathodic Protection) • Onboard electrical equipment • Underwater drones (AUVs, ROVs, UUVs and Gliders) • Other underwater electrical noise sources Together with acoustic and magnetic sensing, electric field measurements complete the underwater signature picture. This additional observable is becoming essential for both Signature Intelligence (#SIGINT) and Signature Management, providing richer platform characterization, improved target discrimination and enhanced situational awareness. ESENSE OEM Entirely designed, developed and programmed by ELWAVE, ESENSE OEM delivers the best performance in an ultra-compact OEM module approximately the size of a credit card, making integration into underwater platforms remarkably straightforward. Key features ✔ Wideband DC to 2 kHz ✔ Output data rate up to 4 kHz ✔ Ultra-low equivalent input noise: −199 dBV/m/√Hz @ 1 Hz ✔ Automatic self-calibration ✔ Dry titanium electrodes ✔ User-configurable digital filtering ✔ Ultra-low power consumption (~1.5 W) ✔ Credit-card-sized OEM form factor Electric field sensing is no longer a niche capability. It is rapidly becoming the missing piece of the underwater signature puzzle, complementing acoustic and magnetic sensing for: • Signature Intelligence (SIGINT) • Signature Management • Maritime Surveillance • Intruder Detection & Classification • Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) • Seabed Warfare (SBW) • Cable Tracking & Critical Underwater Infrastructure Protection At ELWAVE, we believe the future of underwater awareness is multi-physics. Electric signatures are part of that future. #UnderwaterSensing #DefenseTechnology #MaritimeSurveillance #UEP #ELFE #SIGINT #SignatureManagement #ASW #Submarine #AUV #ROV #Glider #SeabedWarfare #NavalInnovation #DualUse #NATO #DIANA

Great discussions this week on going at #MINWARA 🇺🇸! With the renewed focus on the Strait of #Hormuz and the growing importance of keeping critical maritime routes open, Mine Countermeasure (#MCM) capabilities are more relevant than ever. During my presentation, I highlighted a simple observation: Detection is no longer the bottleneck. Classification is. Modern MCM systems can generate hundreds or even thousands of Mine-Like Objects (MLOs). The challenge is rapidly determining which contacts deserve further investigation. #Tetrapulse sensor by ELWAVE brings a complementary sensing modality through Electrical Impedance Imaging, helping operators: ✔ Reject benign MLOs earlier through size, shape and material characterization ✔ Differentiate metallic and composite targets from surrounding clutter ✔ Relocate and characterize contacts in turbid waters where visual identification becomes slow and uncertain Already demonstrated across multiple seabed environments and integrated on operational ROV platforms! The faster we reject non-threats, the faster we can focus on real threats. #MINWARA #MCM #MineCountermeasures #ROV #USV #AUV #MaritimeSecurity #DefenseInnovation #StraitOfHormuz

Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) has released the #MCM Modernization Prize challenge aiming to accelerate next-generation Mine Countermeasure (MCM) capabilities for the US Navy. One of the key challenges highlighted in the solicitation is the ability to reliably reacquire, identify and classify bottom mines in complex operational environments, including partially buried mines, rocky seabeds, cluttered areas and high-current conditions. ELWAVE’s active electric imaging sensor #EPULSE has repeatedly demonstrated its ability to address exactly this challenge, mounted onto different #ROV (and #AUV). #EPULSE is field-proven, currently deployed in Ukraine and routinely used in commercial #UXO operations with performance levels consistent with the objectives outlined by DIU : > 60% probability of target reacquisition > 95% clutter rejection rate > 60% probability of classification < 40% probability of false alarm Gary BAGOT will be next week at #MINWARA26 (Mine Warfare Association). On Tuesday, 02 June, 10.15 10.45, Gary will present our EPULSE solution (From detection to neutralisation : A modular 'Find and Finish' MCM capability on a Man-Portable ROV'). Afficher la traduction

Japan commissioned its 6th Taigei-class submarine last week. The timing isn't coincidental. JS Sogei (Blue Whale) runs on lithium-ion batteries - a shift from traditional lead-acid that matters more than it sounds. Higher energy density means longer submerged endurance without snorkeling. Less time at periscope depth means lower detection probability. At 3,000 tons with Kawasaki high-output diesels and Type 18 torpedoes, it's built for the shallow, contested waters around the First Island Chain. That's where acoustic signatures matter most and where diesel-electric boats actually outperform nuclear submarines in stealth. The engineering tells the strategic story: Japan is investing in platforms optimized for denial operations in narrow straits, not blue-water power projection. While China expands its carrier fleet, Japan's betting on what you can't see. We’ve always found submarine development revealing. Surface fleets make statements. Submarine programs make calculations. The Indo-Pacific underwater competition isn't loud. But the capability buildup is accelerating on both sides. —- Covert Kinetics | Precision Intelligence for Power, Security, and Trust. 📧 Email: info@covertkinetics.com 🌐 Website: www.covertkinetics.com 🛡️ Threema (Secure Messaging/Calls): SHB57S42
