You can have the best website in your area, rank first on Google and spend thousands on marketing. None of that guarantees new patients if your response takes until the next morning.

Patients don't compare you with the practice down the road. They compare you with every digital experience they have every day. Ordering food. Booking a taxi. Checking their bank balance. Instant has become normal.
That's why response time matters. Every unanswered question gives uncertainty room to grow, and uncertainty is where patients start looking elsewhere.

The practices winning more enquiries aren't always spending more on marketing. They're simply making it easier for patients to take the next step. #DentalPractice #PatientExperience #AIFrontDesk #Dentistry #Boxly

AI is changing dentistry. That's why the BBC came to the Dentistry Show, and why they stopped by the Boxly stand. In this clip from BBC Tech Now, Adam Smith explains one of the biggest challenges facing dental practices today: patients often don't know the treatment they need, they just know they need help. That's where Boxly’s AI Front Desk comes in. By understanding what patients are actually trying to achieve, it guides them to the right next step while taking the repetitive admin away from reception teams. The result? Better patient journeys and more time for the team to handle the conversations that really matter. Watch the clip below, and if you missed it the first time around, you'll find a link to the full episode in the comments. #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #DentalTechnology #HealthTech #Dentistry #PatientExperience #PracticeManagement #Boxly Dentistry Shows

Dentistry and AI are changing fast, and it’s great to see those conversations reaching a wider audience. Back in May, the BBC visited the Dentistry Show to explore how technology is reshaping healthcare. They stopped by to speak with our Co-founder, Adam Smith, about AI Front Desk, why patients expect instant answers, and how practices can deliver a better experience without adding more pressure to their reception teams. A big thank you to the BBC Tech Now team for featuring us, and to everyone involved in making the episode happen. Sales is a dirty word in healthcare. Which is odd, because if patients don't book treatments, nobody wins. You can call it patient care, patient journeys or lead management if it makes you feel better, but at some point, someone has to respond to the enquiry and help that patient take the next step. I just walked out of a meeting with one of the UK's oldest hair transplant clinics. They've got 25 locations and some seriously impressive numbers: They respond to every lead in under six minutes. They convert just under 70% of leads into bookings. That's not luck. But it also wasn't always this way. Previously, with over 500 leads flooding in every week, things were coming in all over the place. They couldn't track conversions and patient data was scattered across individual staff phones. The turning point? They built a dedicated sales team and equipped them with Boxly. They now have a team whose only job is to speak to patients when they're most motivated, the exact moment they enquire. No juggling front desk duties. No squeezing follow-up calls in between appointments. They start real conversations immediately, whether that's on WhatsApp, SMS, email or over the phone. Here's the thing. Patients don't care whose job title is on the email signature. They care that someone got back to them quickly and helped them. If you're waiting two days to reply to an enquiry, you've probably already lost them. The best time to speak to a patient is when they've just told you they're interested. Everything after that is playing catch-up. Treat your enquiries like gold dust. Because they are. #HealthcareMarketing #ClinicGrowth #PatientConversion #LeadManagement #PracticeManagement #Boxly

AI is changing dentistry. That's not the interesting part. The interesting part is *where* we choose to use it. During his keynote at Dentally Live, Adam Smith challenged the idea that more AI automatically means a better patient experience. Instead, he argued that the biggest opportunities come from removing friction, giving patients better ways to self-serve, and freeing reception teams to focus on the conversations that really matter. We've pulled three of the keynote's biggest ideas into this carousel. If you'd like to dive deeper into the thinking behind them, we've published the full keynote on the Boxly blog. One sentence summed up Adam Smith's entire keynote at Dentally Live. "Don't replace the doorman. Give them superpowers." Front desk teams aren't valuable because they answer phones. They're valuable because they reassure anxious patients, build trust and create a brilliant first impression. Technology should protect those moments, not replace them. If you'd like the full argument, including why so many practices are solving the wrong problem with AI, we've published the complete keynote on the Boxly blog: https://lnkd.in/egi6vdrx #DentallyLive #Boxly #PatientExperience #DentalPracticeManagement #ArtificialIntelligence #DentalTechnology

This year’s event season is officially wrapped. From the Dentistry Show to Dental Forum, Dentally Live and ADG, we’ve had the chance to meet so many brilliant people across the dental industry. To everyone who stopped by our stand, booked a demo, asked questions, shared ideas, or simply came over for a chat, thank you. Those conversations are the best part of every event, and they genuinely shape what we build next. We’re already looking forward to doing it all again next year. See you then. #Boxly #Dentistry #DentalTech #DentalCommunity #PracticeManagement

Everyone's telling dental practices they need AI. We're asking a different question. Are you using it in the right place? That's what Adam Smith explored during his keynote at Dentally Live. One of the biggest mistakes we're seeing is practices trying to automate conversations that shouldn't be automated. Missed calls aren't the problem. They're the symptom. Patients call because they don't have an easier way to book appointments, move appointments or get answers to simple questions. So instead of fixing the journey, many practices are trying to automate the phone call. That's AI the wrong way round. The biggest opportunity isn't replacing your reception team. It's removing the repetitive admin that stops them doing what humans are brilliant at: building trust, reassuring anxious patients and creating great first impressions. The keynote goes into much more detail, including the "Doorman Fallacy" that perfectly explains why this matters. If you're thinking about AI in your practice, we'd love you to give it a read. 📖 Read the full keynote and let us know if you agree: https://lnkd.in/egi6vdrx #Boxly #DentallyLive #DentalAI #PatientExperience #DentalPractice

The bags are packed. The coffee's in hand. Next stop: ADG. Over the next two days, Adam Smith and Elliot Hamilton will be taking part in ADG's speed dating sessions, meeting dental group leaders in a series of focused one-to-one conversations, as well as catching up with customers and new faces along the way. That's what makes events like this worthwhile. You get straight to the conversations that matter, what's working, what's frustrating, and where AI can genuinely make a difference to busy practices. If you're at ADG, come and find us. We'd love to hear what challenges you're trying to solve. We'll share a few updates from the conference over the next couple of days. #ADGconf26 #Dentistry #AIFrontDesk #PracticeGrowth #Boxly

AI should be doing the robot work, so your team can do the human work. That was the big idea behind Adam Smith's keynote at Dentally Live, and it's one we're not going to stop talking about. Because the future of dentistry isn't replacing great reception teams. It's giving them the time to do what they do best: look after patients. #DentallyLive #Boxly #Dentistry #DentalAI #PatientExperience #PracticeManagement #AI

Last week I ticked off something that's been on my list for years. My first ever keynote. ✅ Dentally Live, BMA House, a room full of practice owners staring back at me. No laptop to hide behind and no demo to click through, like my usual day. Just me, a stage and an idea. And I loved every second. My talk: "Are You Using AI the Wrong Way Round?" Here's the point I made. Your reception team are the most important people in your practice. They're the welcome or the warm hello that turns a nervous enquiry into a booking. They're the reason patients come back, the quiet upsell, the human face of everything you do. And what are most of them doing all day? Rebooking appointments. Chasing confirmations. Answering the same five questions on repeat. Robotic work. So here's the irony. Practices are buying robots to talk to patients, and leaving humans to do the robot work. It's the wrong way round. Flip it. Let AI handle the repetitive stuff brilliantly behind the scenes. Bookings, follow-ups, rescheduling, NHS queries, out-of-hours enquiries. Then free your best people to do the thing no machine ever will: make people feel looked after. AI doing the robot work. Humans doing the human work. That's AI the right way round. Backed up by brilliant fire side chats with John King and Elliot Hamilton alongside Loven Ganeswaran, Daniel Tindall, Mohamed Motter Laurie Glover Christina Patrick and Stefan Cataldo Thank you to everyone who came and chatted after. Those conversations were the best part. And thank you for hosting Yasmin Kinkaid Rick Gay James Harker Clayton Newell Duncan Leslie P.S who knew Abhinav Utkarsh could sell 😎
