One of the biggest mistakes I see in growing companies... They mistake a Head of Sales for a Chief Revenue Officer. They're not the same job. A sales leader is expected to maximize today's #opportunities. A CRO is expected to build tomorrow's revenue engine. I've seen too many organizations where marketing is driven entirely through a sales lens. "How many leads did marketing generate?" "Why aren't there enough #MQLs?" "Run more #campaigns." "Spend more on #ads." The result? Marketing becomes a lead factory. Brand gets ignored. Positioning gets diluted. Customer experience breaks. Product feedback never reaches the #roadmap. Revenue becomes increasingly dependent on paid acquisition instead of building a scalable GTM engine. A CRO asks very different questions. • Are we targeting the right #ICP? • Where is revenue leaking? • Is our positioning attracting the wrong buyers? • Is sales losing deals because of pricing, messaging, onboarding or #product gaps? • Should we even invest in more marketing before fixing these issues? That's the philosophy behind mDNA. We're not building another marketing agency that waits for a brief. We're building a GTM & Growth #Advisory practice that thinks like a #CRO. Sometimes the answer is marketing. Sometimes it's sales #enablement. Sometimes it's #pricing. Sometimes it's customer success. Sometimes it's fixing the website. And sometimes the best advice is to pause marketing altogether until the #fundamentals are right. Marketing is just one lever. #Revenue is the outcome. That's why we don't call ourselves an agency. We call ourselves your trusted #GTM & #Growth Advisors. mDNA digital

Last week, I was conducting a #GTM Advisory #workshop for a #leadership team. The session had the usual suspects. A #COO. A #CFO. A #Sales Head. A #Delivery Leader. And somewhere during the discussion, the conversation drifted to marketing. You know those moments. Everyone has an opinion. "Marketing should generate more qualified leads." "We need better ROI visibility." "We need more campaigns." "We have great delivery. Why isn't the market noticing us?" I smiled. They weren't wrong. I've heard the same questions in almost every boardroom. So I paused the session and asked a simple question. "If I handed over marketing to each of you for the next 30 days, what would you do first?" The answers were #predictable. The COO wanted more #process. The CFO wanted more #measurement. The Sales Head wanted more #leads. The Delivery Leader wanted more #customer #success stories. All valid answers. But then we went one level deeper. I asked: "What happens after that?" "A blank look". Because that's where marketing becomes uncomfortable. Marketing isn't generating leads. It's understanding why a prospect ignores you for 11 months and replies on the 12th. Marketing isn't running #campaigns. It's figuring out why two companies with similar capabilities get completely different levels of market #attention. Marketing isn't creating content. It's creating #confidence. And confidence takes time. The CFO eventually said something interesting. "Some of the best business relationships I've built were impossible to attribute." Exactly. The COO admitted that even the best process cannot manufacture market demand. The Sales Head realized people don't buy when they're ready to sell. People buy when they're ready to buy. And the Delivery Leader discovered that great work rarely markets itself. If it did, every brilliant company would be a market leader. They're not. What struck me was the realization that every leadership function sees growth through its own lens. -Operations sees #efficiency. -Finance sees #numbers. -Sales sees #pipeline. -Delivery sees #execution. Marketing sits in the middle, trying to translate all of them into one thing: #Belief. Because before someone buys your #solution... They first have to believe you understand their problem. And that is far harder than launching another campaign. That's why whenever someone says, "Marketing is easy." I know they've probably never owned growth. #storytelling #growth #gotomarket #branding mDNA digital

  • As we continue to grow, we're looking for immediate joiners for the following roles: • Engagement Manager – Growth • Campaign Strategist • Principal GTM • Content Creator 📍 Chennai (2 days/week Work From Home) One observation: If the first conversation is, "Can I have the JD?" we'll probably have a very transactional discussion. But when the conversation starts with, "Here's my profile, here's what excites me about what you're building, and here's how I believe I can contribute..." that's where meaningful opportunities begin. If this resonates with how you think about your career, we'd love to hear from you. 📩 Comment with your profile and, more importantly, your perspective. We are excited for the new thinkers :) #hiring

One thing I've stopped saying is: "We provide digital marketing services." Because nobody wakes up wanting #marketing. Founders don't invest in marketing. They invest in growth. They want more qualified conversations. More #trust. Better #visibility. Predictable #pipeline. Revenue. Marketing is only one part of that equation. Over the years, I've also stopped making another promise. I no longer tell clients that marketing alone will transform their business in 60-90 days. Because that's simply not how businesses grow. Imagine you're competing against companies that have spent years building #credibility, founder visibility, customer success stories, #SEO, thought #leadership, and market trust. How can anyone realistically expect a #pilot engagement to outperform years of consistent effort? The first few months don't just evaluate your marketing partner. They reveal the gaps in your #GTM ecosystem. Questions like: • Does your website inspire confidence or create doubt? • Is your website your best salesperson or just a digital #brochure? • Can prospects immediately understand why you're different? • Is your founder visible enough for people to trust the company? • Are you building your own category narrative? • Is outreach running in parallel with inbound efforts? This is why I've stopped calling my company a "digital marketing agency." Because what we really help businesses build is a growth engine. Sometimes that means fixing positioning before #campaigns. Sometimes it means rebuilding the website before spending on visibility. Sometimes it means helping founders become the voice of their business before expecting leads. And sometimes, the biggest outcome of a pilot isn't immediate revenue. It's discovering exactly what needs to change before revenue becomes predictable. Have you noticed this, folks? Marketing doesn't create trust overnight. It amplifies what already exists. So before asking your marketing teams, "Why aren't we getting enough leads?" Ask yourself: "If I were my ideal customer, why would I choose my company over competitors who have spent years earning the market's trust?" The answer to that question is usually where growth begins. #digitalmarketing #Socialmedia #brandpromotions #personalbranding mDNA digital

  • LinkedIn isn't a content platform anymore. It's where people decide whether they trust you. Most founders are already on LinkedIn. They're posting. They're engaging. They're showing up consistently. But very few can answer a simple question: If the right prospect landed on your profile today, would they know what you do, who you help, and why they should talk to you? That's where most opportunities are won or lost. Not because of a lack of effort. Not because of the algorithm. But because visibility without credibility rarely turns into business. Over the years, we've worked with founders and business leaders who wanted LinkedIn to do more than generate impressions. They wanted it to create conversations. Build trust. And support real business growth. That's why Durga Balakrishnan, Co-Founder & COO at mDNA digital, is opening a limited number of complimentary 1:1 Founder Credibility Sessions. In this session, you'll get a fresh perspective on: → How your LinkedIn presence is perceived today → What's making it easier or harder, for people to trust and remember you → Where opportunities are being missed → Practical ways to strengthen your visibility and credibility If you're a founder or CXO and want LinkedIn to become a stronger business asset, this conversation is for you. By application only. Link to apply is in the first comment. If you have questions, feel free to message us. #FounderBranding #LinkedInStrategy #PersonalBranding #B2BGrowth #FounderLedGrowth

Somewhere along the way, marketing leadership quietly became... everything leadership. 😅 Today's marketing leader isn't just expected to build campaigns. You're expected to: -Own revenue. -Master AI. -Build the founder's personal brand. -Review designs. -Explain attribution. -Support sales. -Revamp the website. -Stay active on LinkedIn. -Speak at events. -Present to the board. -And somehow still "think strategically." The funniest part? Marketing has evolved from "Can you make the logo bigger?" to "Can you help grow the business?" And honestly... I don't think that's a bad thing. The role has changed because businesses have changed. Marketing is no longer a cost center. It's becoming one of the biggest growth levers in the company. So here's a little appreciation post for every marketing leader who's juggling 27 browser tabs, 14 AI tools, 6 dashboards, 3 WhatsApp groups, and one calendar that definitely isn't their own. 😂 Happy Friday! Wishing everyone a weekend with: -Zero "quick calls" -Zero "small changes" -At least one hot coffee -And maybe... just maybe... fewer notifications. Have a great weekend! 🍻 #Marketing #Growth #GTM #brandpromotions #personalbranding #LinkedIn #business #founders #campaigns

In the recent founder level conversations, One recommendation I have been making consistently: Please don't start with marketing. Not before you understand where revenue is leaking. Many leadership teams come into growth discussions wanting to talk about: -SEO - Paid campaigns - LinkedIn content - AI agents - SDR teams - Website redesigns - GTM refresh But those are solutions. The real question is: What problem are we solving? In most cases, growth isn't constrained by lead generation. It's constrained by revenue leakage. That's why before recommending any GTM strategy, I strongly advocate a Revenue Conversion Audit through a Chief Revenue Officer lens. The framework evaluates 13 critical dimensions: 1. Positioning & Category Clarity 2. Messaging Effectiveness 3. ICP Alignment 4. Trust & Credibility Signals 5. Website Conversion Readiness 6. Demand Capture Mechanisms 7. CTA Architecture 8. Content-to-Pipeline Capability 9. Sales Enablement Readiness 10. Enterprise Buyer Readiness 11. AI Search & GEO Visibility 12. Revenue Operations & Measurement 13. Growth Scalability & Automation The outcome isn't another report. It's a Revenue Conversion Scorecard. The kind of scorecard that answers questions like: • Are we losing buyers because they don't understand our positioning? • Are prospects dropping because they don't trust us? • Is sales losing deals because proof is missing? • Is our website generating traffic but not conversations? • Are we invisible in AI-driven discovery? • Are we trying to scale demand before fixing conversion? What fascinates me is how often founders assume they need more leads. Yet the audit reveals something different. The bucket isn't empty. It's leaking. Just a candid assessment of where revenue is leaking and what should be fixed first. Because before pouring more water into the bucket, it's worth understanding where the holes are. Let's chat if you are interested to know your CRO scorecard 😄 #demandgen ##gotomarket #pipeline

There was a time when a great salesperson could build an entire business. They knew how to prospect. They knew how to handle objections. They knew how to negotiate. They hit quota. They closed deals. And honestly, that was enough. But something changed. Buyers became smarter. Information became accessible. Trust became harder to earn. Today, before responding to a sales email, prospects check LinkedIn. Before taking a meeting, they search for leadership. Before believing a pitch, they look for proof. And increasingly, they're asking a different question: "Where are the founders?" They want to know whether the people behind the business truly understand the problem they're solving. Are they building in public? Do they talk about failures as openly as successes? Can they handle criticism? Do they ask questions? Do they invite challenges to their thinking? Do they genuinely care about customer outcomes? Or are they simply trying to fill another sales pipeline and hit another quarterly target? Sales isn't dying. Anonymous selling is. Buyers want access to the people behind the business before they commit to the business itself. But I do believe the traditional definition of sales is slowly declining. The future belongs to founders who are willing to step into the market themselves. To roll up their sleeves. To get uncomfortable. To share what they're learning. To create value long before asking for business. To build an ecosystem of trust before building a pipeline of opportunities. Because customers don't just want a vendor. They want partners who are invested in the same outcome. And that starts with visibility. Not the visibility of a company. The visibility of the people leading it. Credibility is the new distribution channel.

Building a #brand is a lot like building a life. Alignment matters. When customer needs, #market timing, messaging, sales, and execution move in harmony, growth follows. The same principle applies outside work too. Perhaps that's why founders rarely switch off. And GTM is simply the outcome of those connections. Before anyone asks why I'm working from the kitchen...😅 it happened to be everyday, naturally for many of us. The reality is that #GTM isn't something I switch on during office hours. It's a lens through which I see customer behavior, market shifts, and growth opportunities. And surprisingly, some of the best insights happen away from the desk. Curious... How many of you have had your best #business, #product, #sales, or #marketing ideas while #cooking, at the #gym, over a meal, or doing something completely unrelated to work? And did those ideas actually move the needle?

As I promised in my last post, here I am with a strategy for dealing with "Closed Ghosted" opportunities. Most teams either do one of two things: Keep following up forever. Mark it as lost and move on. I think both approaches miss the point. A ghosted opportunity is neither a win nor just a loss. It's a source of GTM intelligence. Every time a prospect goes silent, there is a story behind it. The challenge is that most organizations never capture that story. Here's a simple framework. Checkout the image! How does your organization currently review ghosted opportunities? #GTM #growth #ghosting #opportunities #sales #marketing #brandpromotions #storytelling mDNA digital
