The research procedures are : Analyze, Design, and Development. The book was developed based on essential indicator of Teacher Competency Test 2015 and essential indicator of PCK test 2016 on pedagogy aspek. Analyze, design, develop, first simulation and validation of workbook by internal validator conducted at the Laboratory of Biology Education FKIP University of Riau. External validation, second simulation and user response of the workbook in MGMP IPA Pekanbaru. Workbooks validated on four aspects include format; illustrations; language, and content. Validated workbook will be disseminate after revised. The workbook has valid category and can be used as a learning resource by the teachers to strengthening of Pedagogical Knowledge (PK) Natural Science Teacher.

Mentor, Observe, Support, Take Action (MOST): a model for continuing professional development of teacher leaders

This study aims to identify literacy competencies, self-efficacy, and Technological Pedagogical K... more This study aims to identify literacy competencies, self-efficacy, and Technological Pedagogical Knowledge (TPK) among teacher leaders (TL) as the foundation for developing a model of sustained professional development. The survey involved 153 respondents, TL at the junior high school level in Riau and Riau Islands. Instruments were used to measure literacy skills (environmental, numerical, digital) and TPK employed multiple-choice tests. The questions underwent item analysis, piloted with 30 respondents. A questionnaire measured self-efficacy, the role of TL, and the implementation of the Emancipated Curriculum. Descriptive data analysis determined demographic characteristics and the average competence of TL. Inferential analysis to identify relationships between variables used Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Lisrel 8.80 software. Research results reveal that the competence level of TL (literacy, TPK, and self-efficacy) ranges from moderate (60.60) to high (91.20). Based on SEM analysis, the developed model meets the criteria as a well-fitting model. Validation results show that all loading factors are > 0.5, t statistics > 1.96. This study recommends the development of a TL Professional Development model with the acronym MOST (mentor, observe, support, take action) as stages for their professional development to fulfill the mission of moving, acting, and driving the implementation of the Emancipated Curriculum in Indonesia.

This training aimed to provide digital literacy strengthening for teachers in designing, implementing, and evaluating home-learning programs. This technical guidance was carried out through an online platform (Zoom) and offline mentoring in the MGMP discussion forum. The technical guidance mechanism consists of training and simulations in designing digital learning media in PowerPoint presentations, video monologues, e-student worksheets, and e-modules using software applications such as Filmora, Explee, Sigil, and Kinemaster. Water pollution from manufacturing waste and air pollution from forest and land fires are major e... more Water pollution from manufacturing waste and air pollution from forest and land fires are major environmental issues in the Siak district. This research aimed at gathering empirical data by implementing a real-action project based on SSCS learning to enhance sustainability awareness of Junior High School. This quasi-experiment was carried out in two groups of students in 7th grade of SMPN 1 Koto Gasib, Siak, Riau Province. The experimental class used the SSCS learning model with the ESD approach and the control class applied the scientific learning model. Indicators of sustainability awareness comprise: 1) Sustainability Practice Awareness; 2) Behavioral and Attitude Awareness; and 3) Emotional Awareness. Real-action project that is implemented by the teacher in this research is conducted to promote sustainability awareness in the form of a water purification model, planting pollution-absorbing plants, and creating Eco-brick flower pots. Data analysis uses inferential statistics, namely the T-test using SPSS-26 software. The analysis results of sustainability awareness indicate that students in the experimental class get a higher average of 76%, with the high category. Meanwhile, students in the control class get an average of 65% in the medium category. The T-test analysis of sustainability awareness gets a significance value of 0,002.≤ 0,05, which indicates that there is a significant difference between experimental and control classes. The implementation of SSCS learning model using ESD approach can enhance the students' sustainability awareness through environmental problem-solving activities, as well as building knowledge, behavior, and attitudes of love for the environment.

This study is specifically designed to measure the effectiveness of Contextual Teaching and Learn... more This study is specifically designed to measure the effectiveness of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) on the students' scientific attitude and achievement in Natural Science among Junior school students in Pekanbaru, Indonesia. This quasi experiment involved some 215 Form VII students from three public schools, segregated based on their existing cognitive abilities. The CTL materials was developed by applying RANGKA strategy. Overall, the findings revealed that there is significant difference exist across experimental groups in terms of students' achievement. However, there is no significant difference in terms of scientific attitude. These findings contribute significant implications for the enhancement of scientific thinking skills among various students' capabilities and different categories of school. Contextual teaching strategy is found appropriate in achieving the above dimensions in heterogeneous schools. This is due to the fact that the RANGKA contextual learning strategy as developed in this study focuses on the right way for students to learn.

Curriculum subjects of Natural Sciences Secondary School expects that students master the concepts and principles of science to develop the knowledge, skill, spriritual and social competences that can be applied in daily life and as a provision to pursue higher degrees. Implementation an integrated character education in science is a new thing, making implementation face many problem, both schools and teachers. This research designed to develop values of character that integrated in Natural Science Secondary School Class VII. This research development consist of three stages: (1) design and development integration model of values and character based on contextual teaching and learning, (2) validation and pilot test, (3) implementation and evaluation. The first year research (2013) has resulted teaching materials for natural science school first semester class VII in the form of lesson plan, student worksheet, learning assessment, and instructional media.

This study aimed to examine the implementation of the School Literacy Movement (SLM) by observing... more This study aimed to examine the implementation of the School Literacy Movement (SLM) by observing its impacts toward the scientific literacy, characters, and HOTS of Grade VII Junior High School (JHS) students in Pekanbaru within the context of K-13. The survey was conducted with 45 natural science teachers on the basis that they have integrated K-13 into their teaching and learning. The data of SLM implementation was obtained from the teacher by means of questionnaires and observation which was conducted in science classes in three JHS in pollution and global warming topics. The results showed that 49.13% of activities were successfully implemented by SLM. The results showed that students’ scientific literacy in the three schools were 69.5%, 76.3%, and 75.2%. Meanwhile, the character values have reached 80.6%, 76.4%, 72.9%, and students’ HOTS values were 73.0%, 72.5%, and 73.3%. Environmental Literacy Analysis of Junior High School Students in Pekanbaru

This study aims to determine the environmental literacy profile of junior high school students in... more This study aims to determine the environmental literacy profile of junior high school students in Pekanbaru, Indonesia. This study used a survey method with sampling technique by cluster random sampling. The survey was conducted by performing a Test Question and a Middle School Environment Literacy Survey (MSELS) to 372 students. The parameters of this study consisted of ecological knowledge, cognitive skills, attitudes and behavior. The data analysis technique was in the form of descriptive analysis using the average score of achievement of each parameter. The results of this study indicate that the environmental literacy of junior high school students in the Pekanbaru obtained an average value of 61 (with range of 100). The achievement of environmental literacy parameters for ecological knowledge, cognitive skills, attitudes and behaviors amounted to 48, 29, 73 and 71, respectively. Environmental literacy of junior high school students in Pekanbaru is included in the medium category where knowledge and attitudes contribute to environmental literacy.

This search aimed to investigate the effectiveness of video lectures in an online flipped learning on students’ learning outcomes, students' video evaluation, and their experience in an online flipped classroom. This study employed mixed-method research implementing a quasi-experimental design using quantitative and qualitative data collection: pre-test and post-test, a questionnaire and interview. The participants were 78 Indonesian undergraduate students taking English as a foreign language (EFL) content course at one of the universities in Indonesia. The findings revealed that the students’ learning outcomes in the flipped classroom outperformed those in the control group.
