Autonomous vehicles have become monitoring devices, surveilling our habits, moods, conversations, location, etc. They will be utilized to psychologically control us… the exact opposite of what the car was supposed to represent… freedom… At stake is our cognitive integrity, by its very nature imperative to the survival of the human species. Nanotechnologies are not new, nor are surveillance technologies. But as time goes on, advancements in the procurement of data, and the abilities of computers to collect, analyze, and predict human behavior, intensifies. The greatest monster we may face is a paradigm shift where continuity of government means little when hackers can take down the electric grid, control vehicles and even the behavior of their drivers and passengers.
