With the industrial revolution and globalization, a rapid migration from rural to urban areas and... more With the industrial revolution and globalization, a rapid migration from rural to urban areas and an unbalanced and intense population growth in cities have aroused. Thus, problems such as housing, water, food, infrastructure, traffic, environment have emerged in cities. Environmental problems have started to emerge because of the unplanned and unpredictable use of limited natural resources such as soil, water, energy, and food. For this reason, projects and services have started to be implemented by international, national, and local administrations on a global scale. The United Nations, the European Union and environmental organizations act together to make the environment sustainable in cooperation with national and local governments worldwide. In Türkiye, environment-centered activities are conducted by local governments to ensure environmental sustainability. The data of the study, in which literature review and document analysis method, one of the qualitative research methods, were accessed from the activity reports of the relevant municipalities between 2021-2023. In the study, environmental sustainability-centered activities of local governments in the TR33 Region are examined. In the study, it was concluded that there are topics that need to be developed in the environmentally sustainability-centered activities of local governments in the TR33 region.

The data of the study were obtained by using literature and source scanning and the document review method from qualitative research methods. Urban transformation practices were carried out throughout the city for the construction of service buildings and commercial activity areas, protection and restoration of historical and architectural buildings, cultural activities, environmental protection, and abandoned buildings. These practices are carried out under the titles of protecting the urban identity, environmental sensitivity, urban security, the future of the city, and the ownership of cultural heritage. In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of urban transformation services and activities throughout the city, and it is seen that the activities carried out in the city center and various parts of the city are carried out within the framework of these main themes.

Women are underrepresented in international, national, and local administrations since they are compressed into certain roles and moulds with general assumptions such as social, cultural, traditional, etc. In this study, the 'problematic of women's absence' in local governments is analysed through the Central Anatolia Region. The aim of the study, the data of which were accessed by using the descriptive analysis method and document analysis method based on the official data of the Supreme Electoral Council, is to describe the representation of women among the members of metropolitan, provincial and district municipal assemblies and provincial general assemblies in the Central Anatolia Region according to the results of the local elections held on 31 March 2024. In the study, the thesis that women's representation in local governments is low in metropolitan, provincial and district municipal assemblies and provincial general assemblies in the Central Anatolia Region has been tested and the data reveal that women are not adequately represented in these areas. Necessary suggestions are presented to solve the 'problematic of absence' of women.

This ratio indicates that nearly one in every six people worldwide has a physical, mental, intellectual e.g. disability. While disabled individuals were ignored, defined as a burden, and seen as individuals who needed to be rescued, today their existence is accepted and they are seen as part of society. Services for disabled individuals are provided worldwide by central and local governments. This study analyses the activities and services provided by metropolitan municipalities in the Mediterranean Region for individuals with disabilities between 2019 and 2023. The literature contains studies that have been conducted at the district, provincial or national level. This study is considered important as it addresses the services provided by local governments in the Mediterranean region level. It is anticipated that this study will provide information on the services offered to the administrators of local governments in the region and serve as a guide and contribute to the literature and to researchers. The data for the study was obtained from the ARs of these municipalities for the relevant years using the document review method. The study found that there were differences in terms of volume, quantity and diversity among the activities and services carried out by local governments in the Mediterranean region for individuals with disabilities, and that metropolitan municipalities produced more services in terms of number of items and quantity than provincial municipalities. It was concluded that this situation cannot be explained solely by economic reasons, that cooperation in activities and services for persons with disabilities needs to be developed, that the issue of representation and participation of persons with disabilities in governance needs to be resolved, and that a paradigm shift is required.

In the preparation of the questionnaire form , sources in the literature were utilised. There are 17 questions in the questionnaire prepared in a 5-point Likert scale format to test the hypotheses of the study. The study was conducted according to the random sampling model with 486 citizens who attended/participated in DENMEK course centres and courses at different points in the city. The data were analysed in SPSS 22.0 programme and t Test and Anova (Tukey, Tamhane) tests were used to determine the differences between groups. Participants' satisfaction perceptions about DENMEK, whether the course contents are effective and whether the courses contribute to the trainees were investigated and it was determined that the participants' satisfaction perceptions about DENMEK according to demographic characteristics differed significantly except for the age factor; the course contents were seen as effective and the courses contributed to the trainees.

Değişen ve dönüşen toplum ile yönetim kavramı da yeniden tanımlanmıştır. Yönetim kavramı, günümüzde birliktelik, ortaklık ve paydaşlık gibi öğeleri kapsayan istişare merkezli bir forma dönüşmüştür. Bu yeni yönetim formu yönetişim olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Kadim kültürlerin yönetimlerinde var olan birliktelik, karşılıklı fikir alışverişi, ortak yönetim gibi kavramlar yönetişim kavramı ile yeniden gündeme gelmiş ve ön planda tutulmaya başlanmıştır. Yönetimin güçlü yanlarını içine alan ve eleştirilen yönlerini güncelleyerek tekrar etkin hale getirdiği düşünülen yönetişim anlayışı hem uluslararası boyutta hem de ulusal ve yerel boyutta uygulanmaya çalışılmaktadır. Yerel yönetimlerin halka en yakın hizmet sunan birimler olması sebebiyle vatandaşların karar alma mekanizmalarında istişare edilen paydaş aktör olarak yer aldıkları görülmektedir. Bu makalede karar alma süreçlerinde şûranın yeri ve önemi yerel yönetimler kapsamında Aksaray Belediyesi özelinde ele alınmakta ve Aksaray Belediyesinin şûra merkezli hizmetleri ve faaliyetlerine değinilmektedir.
