Background: The rate of decline in lung function in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) ... more Background: The rate of decline in lung function in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients showed more profound decline than normal individuals. However, a 1-year lung function among Indonesian patients with COPD has not been elucidated. Aim: This study attempted to determine the rate of lung function decline in terms of obstruction variable among COPD patients after a 1-year of treatment. Materials and Methods: This retrospective cohort study measures the rate of decline in forced expiratory volume in 1 s (FEV1) and ratio of FEV1 to forced vital capacity (FEV1/FVC) in COPD patients at COPD Outpatient Clinic Persahabatan Hospital after 1-year of treatment. Results: There were 31 COPD patients with the prevalence of 1-year declined FEV1 and FEV1/FVC which were 83.9% and 51.6%, respectively. Smoking behaviours among people aged ≥15 years is 36.3%, 64.9% male, and the average number of cigarettes smoked was about 12.3. The purpose of this study was to determine the smoking behaviours and it's characteristics among COPD patients in Persahabatan Hospital Jakarta. Methodology: We conducted an administered questionnaire based study with 43 male subjects who visitedCOPDoutpatient clinic, 13.9% age 40 years old (97.7%) with group D as the largest (69.7%). 92.8% subjects are ex-smokers, most stop smoking at age ≥40 years old (84.6%). Reasons to quit most was due to illness (87.1%) by the effort to quit smoking 1-3 times. Cancer is the most widely known result of smoking (26.5%). The lung is not widely conceived of as sensitive to circulating lipoprotein particles
and their cholesterol cargo. Lipids, apolipoproteins, and lipoprotein particles are important modulators of inflammation, varying relationships exist between these parameters and asthma. According to the latest definition Global Initiative For Asthma (GINA) 2015, Asthma is a heterogeneous disease, usually characterized by chronic airway inflammation. It is defined by the history of respiratory symptoms such as wheeze, shortness of breath, chest tightness and cough that vary over time and in intensity, together with variable expiratory airflow limitation. This literature review will discuss about lipoprotein, asthma, their correlation and some studies about correlation between lipoprotein with asthma.

ABSTRAK
Paru belum secara luas diketahui memiliki hubungan kuat dengan partikel-partikel lipoprotein dan kargo kolesterolnya. Partikel-partikel lipid, apolipoprotein dan lipoprotein merupakan modulator yang penting pada proses inflamasi namun masih sedikit diketahui hubungan antara parameter-parameter tersebut dengan asma. Menurut definisi terbaru Global Initiative For Asthma (GINA) tahun 2015, asma didefinisikan sebagai sebuah penyakit heterogen, biasanya ditandai dengan inflamasi saluran napas kronik. Hal tersebut didefinisikan oleh riwayat gejala-gejala pernapasan seperti mengi, sesak napas, dada sesak dan batuk yang bervariasi dari waktu ke waktu serta intensitas tertentu, bersama dengan variabel keterbatasan aliran udara ekspirasi. Pada tinjauan pustaka ini akan dibahas tentang lipoprotein, asma, hubungan antara keduanya dan studi-studi tentang hubungan lipoprotein dengan asma.
