We have been awarded a project in Egypt, in collaboration with the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade and the EHCSS - Egyptian Holding Company for Silos & Storage, to support the development of wheat storage infrastructure across the country. The initiative, financed by Agence Française de Développement, aims to strengthen food security and resilience through the construction and expansion of silos across five strategic governorates, adding a total storage capacity of 375,000 tonnes. Our role focuses on providing environmental and social advisory services to ensure compliance with international and local standards, supporting the responsible development of infrastructure and the effective management of both locally produced and imported wheat. The project builds on our longstanding collaboration with AFD and MOSIT in the agribusiness sector and contributes to improving the efficiency and resilience of food systems in Egypt. By combining technical expertise with environmental and social standards, the initiative supports the development of sustainable infrastructure aligned with international best practices. #GrowWithRINA

Every day, data centres power the digital services we rely on. But what if the heat they generate could also help power more sustainable cities? In this video, Zita Salajková, our Project Manager for THUNDER, explains how this EU-funded project we're coordinating aims to transform waste heat from data centres into a valuable resource for district heating networks. By combining waste heat recovery, high temperature heat pumps, seasonal thermal energy storage and innovative Heat on Wheels solutions, THUNDER is demonstrating how digital infrastructure can actively contribute to the decarbonisation of urban energy systems. The project, currently being demonstrated in Varna, Bulgaria, showcases how innovation can reduce energy waste, lower CO₂ emissions and strengthen the resilience of local heating networks. Beyond the pilot site, THUNDER is also assessing how this solution can be replicated across Europe, supporting the wider adoption of sustainable heating solutions. As project coordinator, we bring together engineering expertise, sustainability assessment, techno-economic analysis, regulatory knowledge and market replication strategies to help turn innovative concepts into practical solutions with real world impact. Watch the video to discover how THUNDER is helping shape a more sustainable future by giving a second life to excess heat ⤵️ #GrowWithRINA

Join us on 17 September 2026 at our UK Learning Hub in Leatherhead for the "Understanding Substation Earthing Design and Performance" training course. With only 15 places available, the course offers a focused learning environment for professionals involved in high-voltage installations. Throughout this instructor-led course, we will explore the key principles behind high-voltage substation earthing systems, with a focus on safety, performance and compliance with UK standards, including ENA TS 41-24 and BS EN 50522. Together, we will examine topics such as Earth Potential Rise (EPR), soil resistivity, fault current distribution, design safety assessments and the practical considerations that contribute to the safe and effective operation of high-voltage installations. Led by Mark Davies, a specialist with more than 30 years of experience in substation earthing design and performance, the course combines technical foundations with practical insights and real-world examples drawn from a wide range of projects. We recently supported Lightsource bp as Technical Advisor in reaching financial close for the Glorit solar farm, a major utility-scale renewable project in New Zealand. The project, developed in partnership with Contact Energy Ltd, comprises a 171 MWdc (150 MWac) solar farm and marks a significant step in expanding grid-scale renewable generation in the country. Backed by NZ$285 million in non-recourse financing, the project is expected to enter operation in the second half of 2028, contributing to a more resilient and sustainable energy system. Within this framework, our Australia & New Zealand team delivered comprehensive Technical and Environmental Due Diligence in support of project financing, along with a bankable Energy Yield Assessment for the reliance parties. In addition, we have been appointed as Independent Certifier for the construction phase. By combining rigorous technical analysis, risk assessment, and independent review of compliance, we contributed to strengthening confidence in the project’s bankability and readiness for execution. Projects such as Glorit play a key role in enabling the integration of renewable energy at scale, supporting energy security and accelerating the transition to a low-carbon future in New Zealand 🌏 #GrowWithRINA

Greece’s ferry network connects more than 200 inhabited islands and supports the mobility of millions of passengers each year, within a context shaped by seasonality, regulated pricing, and increasing pressure on operating costs. Our team at Foreship Ltd. has developed a new ferry concept tailored to these specific conditions. The design integrates all essential functionalities for safe and reliable operations, while avoiding unnecessary complexity. A central element of the concept is the operating profile. While speed has traditionally been a defining factor in the Greek ferry sector, the new design is optimised for more moderate speeds, enabling a significant improvement in fuel efficiency and overall operating economics. By aligning design choices with the realities of the Greek domestic market, this concept offers a practical reference point for future fleet renewal across Europe. #GrowWithRINA

Developing fit-for-purpose, global and pragmatic regulatory solutions on decarbonization towards zero emissions is a clear urgency for the entire maritime industry. IMO’s MEPC meetings are the right place to discuss the different proposals to reach net-zero and to come out with substantial and workable regulations. It is essential solution. This is an essential to make progress and move in one direction globally. Digitalization is another key part of the scenario. No matter the specific technology, before jumping into any technical solution, a pragmatic approach is critical: focus on the problem to address, offer the crews the level of training and capability they need, and put data into daily use to increase energy efficiency and support decarbonisation goals safely and responsibly. Shipping industry has proven that it is able to solve challenges, adapt to new regulations and remain resilient. Current challenges, such as environmental and geopolitical issues, can be addressed in the same way as done in the past: stay focused, be solution-oriented, technology open and move forward towards our green future. Last April, at Seatrade Cruise Global in Miami, our Andreas Ullrich discussed these topics with CLIA | Cruise Lines International Association’s Bud Darr.
